Kool Smiles of Odessa
I went to Familia Dental and they wanted to sedate my four year old, directed me to a specialist in Midland, went ahead an scheduled my bill was totaling to about a little over $1000, went to Big Smiles Ranch and they wanted to sedate her as well my total was about $700, I said what the heck lets try Kool Smiles one more opinion won't hurt. Once I came in to the facility the dentist explained he doesn't like sedating the kids so small, he would try everything before headed that route. My four year old was afraid since we had been to about four dentist before already. The assistance were so great with my daughter and the dentist was explain everything in detail to my daughter playing with her along the way while he worked on her. Of course she didn't have it so we tried the laughing gas once she was calm, he worked on her so great. She took it like a champ. my afraid four year old didn't mind getting her work done here. The assistance nurses held her hand through the whole thing. I recommend you try all routes before you sedate your kids! My bill in total was $250 compared to all other bills, you cant beat that!! I recommend everyone come here with little ones just like me.

Kool Smiles in Odessa, It was My Son's First 6 month appointment, and I was the one nervous to be honest lol. When I got their, I told the lady in the front desk, hello I am new and it's my first time coming here, will I have to fill out some papers?. She said " oh yeah probably I don't know", sign here and have a seat". Um rude, I let it go. Laughed it off.. the helper of the dentist comes all the way into the waiting area for you & your baby's, I thought that was nice acctually. And the dentist was fantastic. Both the woman and the man. It was alright afterall. I have an easy baby, so he laughs with everyone. I just wish the staff was a little bit less rude to be honest. But they do treat the kids well so that's a plus.

As an adult I was going to Resolution Dental a sister to Kool Smiles. They chose to close that office. So I went in for a filling. Thank goodness Dr. Chris transferred. I didn't like the whole office targeted for kids. Hearing crying, smelling things, etc. I have 2 adult children and 1 almost grown. This would've been great when they were little. Going to the dentist is stressful enough. I chose Resolution for a reason. Geared towards adults. Kool Smiles is geared to kids. Which is great for them. Staff was wonderful. Just the wrong environment. I wish they would reopen Resolution. Less wait time too. I was there for 2 1/2 hrs for what to 30 mins. They have to many patients now with combining them.

My children and I love this place! They are excited when we have an appointment and enjoy the toys ect they get from the visit. My son had to have caps and fillings after sneaking sweets, every visit was great. The experienced staff knew just what to do and say to make things go well for my son. I have already recommended this office to a friend that was looking for a dentist for her son. I am thrilled I don t have to worry about my children not liking the dentist, they get to see other children get their teeth cleaning done and that takes the scariness out of the day. Kool Smiles is the best!

Bliss Dental and Orthodontics: Odessa
Love this place. Very clean, efficient and they were able to pull two wisdom teeth no one else in town would. Their surgeon is WONDERFUL and I was in and out of there in 20 minutes. Also this place is set up for kids, with movies above the dental chairs and all. The only painful part of the experience was the price, even with my subpar insurance, the extraction was pricey. But I would pay for it double as you get what you pay for. Realy, really, really good dentists here.

Emergency services are not part of the deal at this place. I have gone to Dr Lewis for over 5 years and love him but the second I called in an emergency Joyce his secretary, office manager, or whatever her role is that day, gave me a 2 week wait before he could see my daughter who was in terrible pain and needed a dentist ASAP. Thanks Joyce...class act. She picks and chooses who gets in and when. Sorry Dr Lewis, your secretary does not represent you very well.

My grandson has been at this office the last few months. He needed lots of work. The front person, Vera, was great and went out of her way to help get his Medicaid approved for more funds. The dental assistant, Veronica, always helps with scheduling and getting us in for the needed work. Dr. V has been amazing in fixing my grandson's teeth and getting him back on the right track. Christi is always friendly and makes the visit personal and welcoming.

Best dentist office I have visited . Fast and very helpful . This doctor actually cares and has set me up on a plan to get all my teeth in order . They got me back there fast . I had two teeth extracted that where giving me a lot of pain. the doctor made sure that I received relief quickly . From there it was completely painless. I would recommend to my friends and family . I will be bringing back my kids and wife for life .

The calling center was not very helpful on correlating my child's dental care. I tried to give him information of my son's previous visit and he basically didn't listen. So when I went to my appointment (out of town) the staff were confused. I can say the staff at the Odessa, Tx office were very friendly and helpful. They were able to take care of my son's needs and I will be returning because of them. Thank you.

Dr. Varun was extremely patient with me. I have really bad anxiety and am afraid of the dentist. But, he walked me thru every step that he did and stopped when he felt I needed a break. He kept communicating with me so that I felt that I was completly informed about my treatment. Staff was GREAT and very thorough with explaining treatment plans and answering questions. Awesome experience...this is MY dentist.
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
