Don't believe the haters, what do they expect to pay for a good meal? Some people should just stick to the golden arches! As a frequent patron and long-time resident of Oak Park the meal and service never disappoint! Everything from appetizer and salad to main course and coffee are excellent. Intimate ambience and friendly staff always make us feel welcome! The fried calamari and the rigatoni w/ fresh mozzarella are must try. If you are carrying out try the BBQ chicken pizza, you'll be glad you did.

This is one of my go-to's for restaurants in Oak Park. Though I haven't been particularly impressed with most of their food, their chicken tikka masala is unbelievable! Also, I've always experienced fantastic service from this place. I highly recommend you give this establishment a shot!

A gem of a place! Fairly busy for a Tuesday night, but still lots of prompt personal service. In fact the owners even came to our table and made us feel so welcome. Wonderfully straightforward meal prepared well. The goat cheese appetizer and shrimp scampi got us off on the right start. The arugala salad was with walnuts and sliced apples was delightful, especially good and plentiful gorgonzola! My companion was pleased with the roasted beet salad. The aspargus risotto was delightful and a generous portion. Chicken saltimbocca had a delightful lemon sauce with capers and wonderfully fresh green beans. Others in our party were pleased with very fresh cheese ravioli. But save room for the delightful peanutbutter banana gelato,we had the flourless chocolate cake with it all drizzled with white chocolate. Also had cannolis and I'm no ""foody"" but I love to eat...oh, the ricotta was so fresh those cannolis, made me think I was back in South Boston. This place was a real treat, moderately priced and kind of a hidden gem. Will definitely be back!\r

Each of us tried a salmon dish: salmon in parchment with seasonal vegetables and red potatoes as well as salmon on grilled plank. Both were delicious and tender. The cost was remarkably lower than expected for such high quality food. The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere and is kid friendly too.

This cozy little charming place opened up right across the street from where I live. Their good coffee I'd get once in a while allured me to go in and try their food as well. Although I went there by myself I never felt alone. The owners are so sweet, so welcoming and nice. I thought that was the best quality, along with the intimate European type atmosphere, until I tried their lobster bisque, tuna sandwiches and salads. Healthy and delicious come close to describe it fairly. I love tuna and Whole Foods is the place I shop for that. I always thought it was the best up until I tried what Eastgate had to offer. I was surprised to see they also offer beer and wine on the menu. It is definitely a place I recommend trying. They also have very nice live folk music on Saturdays and Sundays it's the open mike night. Aside from that, if you go alone, there are magazines all around to read, or you can bring a book or your laptop as they have free WiFi. In Oak Park, it is one of my favorite places to go and unwind.

My husband and I ate here on Thursday. The food was amazing. Everything was very flavorful and authentic. The restaurant was pretty busy, but we were still able to get a table promptly. Their Margarita was one of the best I have had, outside of Mexico. Service was fantastic. The owner came over and made us feel like we were family. We will definitely be back and recommend La Majada to everyone!!

OOooh boy, Robinson's Ribs brings me back to the days of old. Having lived about 10 minutes away from it my whole life, I can say that they are some of the best ribs I've ever eaten in Chicago and the world. The sauce makes the meal! The restaurant itself may not look that great on the inside, but the food is superb. Recommended to all. And if you don't want to go to Oak Park, they always have a booth at the Taste of Chicago. Mmmmmmmm.

With the aid of a $10 off coupon, we ventured over to the new Barclay's--wish it were still the old Philanders. This restaurant pretends to be a Champps, but can't even deliver a decent flatbread pizza. I ordered the Italian sausage/banana pepper flatbread, which made my eyes water it had so many peppers! The fried calamari appetizer was soggy and even the cocktail dipping sauce had a spare slice of tomato at the bottom of the dish. Did the cook just miss the trashcan? Our waitress could barely see the menu, didn't know the beer list, and walked away while we were ordering because the phone rang. While the atmosphere in this newly remodeled space is lovely, the service and quality of food is disappointing, to say the least. I hope the kitchen matures over time.

I've been here a couple times and the food and service has always been fine...perhaps deserving of 4 stars. However, there are tons of other restaurants in the area, that you might want to try out first. If you are a fan of TGIF then I think you'll like the place (though wait times can get over 30 minutes on Friday and Saturday evenings). They have occasional drink specials too, which is when I would consider coming.\r Free parking is sometimes hard to find, but it seems like when I've been there, I've managed to squeeze in somewhere or find someone leaving as I'm pulling in.

Chicago's Chicken and Waffles is great if you are looking for a soul food and breakfast combination. I tried the cat fish dinner and I loved it. Huge portions, steak size portions of fish, nice size waffles, and just the right amount of sides. The service is nice and friendly.

I live in Elmwood Park and go to this famous breakfast stop on the weekends. The only reason I continue to visit this place is because the food is good. The service is the worst part about the place. They are rude, slow, and as we all make mistakes, it is hard to forgive them when every waiter/waitress I have had has made about twenty every time. I also do not like that the menu and substitutions are so limited. Want bacon and sausage links? well, don't think twice. On a plate, you get one or the other...you cannot have one of each. The hot chocolate with whipped cream is to die for, and so are the skillets!!!

I dont understand how the other review was so low. I've been to many sushi bars and this is probably the best quality i've had for years. I know sushi i went to japan, and the food is quite delectable at this resturant. If you are thinking to come and eat here i would recomend not to come with a bigger group on a saturday it gets very crowded and it could be unpleasent. They are on top though of finding you a seat soon as possible though the waits are hardly ever longer than 15-20 min. I recomend the fire dragon, aloha, volcano, spider, rainbow, and tempura sweet potatoe. i havent had much of their cooked meals but i heard the teriaki beef is to die for. Last but not least the DESERTS coffee and red bean icecream our my personal favorites. If u are not a wide range eater i recomend not to eat these kinds of food because they are very unique/different to what our usual family resturants eat. If you're ready for a great new exciting meal you should deffinatly go to sagano.

My girlfriend and I have been coming here for two years. Usually after a long day at work, Bar Louie is our hang out place. We feel comfortable coming here in our casual flip flaps or before we hit the night life in Chicago . Martinis are the best in Oak Park we come here to eat and the food is just perfect to the moment. They have so much to choose and my favorites are their buffalo pizza, wings steak and bean burritos, oh their salads are a must...service is excellent, it has been consistent the staff are cool , positive, and very friend;y, they truly make you feel at home.

Still a nice Chinese Restaurant for a good Chinese meal with a great appetite for traditional Asian cuisine, taste, and Oriental flavor. Sizzling Rice Shrimp Soup serves two in a big bowl. Luo's Peking Lunch Special has a large menu selection for a real Chinese meal including soup, an egg roll or two crispy crab rangoons, a full plate of fresh Oriental delicacies, and a Chinese fortune cookie for a sweet palate. Convenient location on Marion Street, Downtown Oak Park, Illinois.

Very good lunch special here for $5.95. Very friendly service. Food was average but filling. They don't have my favorite salad (I don't think at least) of Som Tum, but most places don't get it right anyway.
