Rose's Bookhouse
Rose's Bookhouse has been a staple of O'Fallon since long before O'Fallon's population explosion. I've gone there since I was a kid and never had a bad experience . The staff will help you find anything in seconds, and Rosie the cat may help you browse. Lots of romance, but many other sections and all are well organized. I don't know why YP user Sammy02 is bothered by a business coming out ahead. If the business came out behind, it wouldn't be an open business for very long. It's not a rip off- it's commerce. I only know of one local bookstore with a trade-in policy that allows customers to pay entirely with credit on their accounts, and that is Dunaway Books in St. Louis. There were two in St. Charles County that allowed payment for materials solely with store credit, but neither of these lasted much longer than a year. My experience has been that suburban bookstores allow trade-in credit to apply to 30-40% of the price of books. If there are enough readers in the area, it will survive.
