VCA Adler Animal Hospital and Pet Resort
Saw vet Elle Donnini on Sat. 6/24/17 for my Kidney Disease cat that was not eatting & was not told she was a temporary. Thought she was a New Hire. Been a loyal customer at VCA Adler for over 22 years. Elle Donnini didn't examine my cat - only asked questions & when I had questions she never told me she was a temporary and not the new hire when I asked about her experience. Only had 1 year experience. Wouldn't have gone to this appt if I had known. VCA made mistake. Elle Donnini wrote derogatory things in Pets Records. Found out on 6/26/17 after taking my cat to VCA Vet Specialty in WH. Don't

If I could give the Pet Hotel a 0 star I would! I boarded my 7 lb York there on a Saturday from 3pm until 6mp on Monday with 6 cans of food that I bought that came in a 6pak box, there while checking him in! When I picked him up 48 hrs later he still had the 6 cans and was STARVING!!!! They lied to me by saying the checked in 10 cans of food for him!!! WORST DOG BOARDING EVER!!!

I use the grooming service. Anthony is superb. He does a great job on my Miniature Schnauzer and Baker doesn't mind being left with him. I really appreciate the personal service that he provides.

Porter Pet Hospital
Porter Pet Hospital is by far the best vet. The staff is awesome and their service to my 5 year old pit bull is amazing! Thank you so much for being there for my pup.

Porter Pet Hospital
Great place for dogs. Staff members are great. Doctors know what they are doing. I have been bringing my pitbull to this place for 3 years now and I love the customer service and medical treatments available for my dog.

This store has incompetent employees. They have no knowledge on animals or products.

Porter Pet Hospital
Love this vet hospital! The whole staff is great, very professional and courteous. They really care about your pet's welfare. We have 3 cats and take all of them here (started 6 months ago) after experiencing poor service at other vet locations. We will only be coming to Porter Pet and have recommended them to family and friends. LOVE THEM!

Porter Pet Hospital
Porter Pet Hospital and its staff are top-of-the-line when it comes to pet care and empathy towards owners. My family have taken my dogs Precious and Xerox there for everything they've needed. Most recently our dog Xerox was scratching herself raw (which has happened every year, but we were always buying flea/tick shampoo ad sprays to make her more comfortable). Finally, this past year was the worst with her scratching so much hair off that her skin was showing. We went to Porter Pet Hospital and were told she had skin sensitivity, fleas/ticks more harsh during certain months, and to eliminate giving her table scraps altogether. Along with the professional advice we were given a 4-month treatment for fleas/ticks. Almost immediately changing her diet along with the treatment her scratching ceased and now months later her coat is shinier than ever, glossy, and so soft to the touch. It's due to the diligence of the vet and staff at Porter Pet Hospital that my dog is no longer in pain or uncomfortably spending most of her days scratching. She now frolicks happily in the sun looking shinier every day. Thanks for all your help, Porter Pet Hospital! I really appreciate it your sensitivity, care, and diligence in correctly assessing the problem and treating it so she no longer suffers. I will never go anywhere else for my pet needs! Again, thank you!! Brittney

Porter Pet Hospital
These guys do a great job with my dog. Most take importantly, they take time to go over the details in long term health with reminder shots, grooming, etc.I have sent my neighbors to them and recommend.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
