Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
I admit it. I'm as skeptical as the next guy. But then again, after procrastinating for over 6 months with "band-aid" remedies, and family flying into Vegas in the coming weeks, it was time to get real fixes for a few things around the house. I needed to fix a leaky guest toilet, leaky sink faucet, and replace a dead food disposal unit. I contacted a couple of places, and the NLV Roto-Rooter was the first to respond. Michael H arrived, I showed him the trouble spots, and he gave his assessment. Going into this, I knew I'd need to buy a new disposal replacement and possibly a new faucet. And with a work deadline on my back, I didn't look forward to hunting for the parts myself. But when Mike suggested that I could search my local Lowe's website to select the products, and he could pick them up himself, that sounded great. Even if it cost a little more to do so. In fact, he ended up going to Lowe's two extra times because I should've checked with him first about the faucet configuration (he said he was also partly to blame which was kind of him) and second, the new disposal needed some extra pieces that the broken one skipped (he was glad to pick them up too). Once the new faucet and disposal were in place, it was like a totally different sink! Finally, the toilet was a quick fix. He even found an unrelated problem that I hadn't noticed. What's great is that throughout this multi-job request spanning several drives and several hours, he still gave a smile, joke, or story relating to something I said, but at the same time, he was straight-forward about what something cost and why. Outside of knowing my own limited budget, I didn't feel uncomfortable or pressured by Mike in my choices. And that's a good thing. Thanks Mike. Now I don't have to worry about weird looks from my family! (Jay M, service on 3/8/2014)

M C Plumbing
I believe my wife and I made the best choice choosing MC Plumbing for our new hot water heater that we had installed last month because of their excellent service and competitive pricing. I priced shopped quite a bit and found that not only were they the cheapest, but they were the only company within their ballpark that didn't promise a state rebate as a way to cut the cost down!? They gave me a price cheaper than their competitors by $75 before this state rebate that seemed to be so popular, meaning total I saved $175.00 up front just by going with them, plus Mark the owner, did the installation himself, tested the water before he left and calibrated it so that it was exactly where we wanted it (we have children and were very concerned about possible scalding). All in all the service was amazing and the price was definitely the cheapest in town. 5 Stars!

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
We had a serviceman come to our home yesterday. He was very polite and quickly diagnosed our problem. He was able to fix our plumbing issue in very little time and had our system back working like normal. The costs were very reasonable and quite frankly came in far less then we expected. I would give this company the highest rating possible based on the quality of their employees!

I have used this specific Roto-Rooter twice. Both times the technician has been polite, professional, honest, and knowledgeable. My specific repairs and services were performed flawlessly. I had a sink replaced in a bathroom and my water heater serviced.

Tips & Advices
A trustworthy plumber will have both commercial liability insurance as well as be bonded. The insurance and the bond protects the plumber from paying for any damages made to your house out of pocket. Having professionals that carry both of these policies can protect all of you from any mishaps that could occur while they work on your building.
  • Before calling a plumber, try to unclog your drains and toilets yourself by using a plunger.
  • Make sure you use a standard bell-shaped plunger for your sink and shower drains and a plunger with a flanged end for your toilets.
  • If neither type can loosen the pipe blockage, put a plumber's snake to use.
  • Ratchet the snake down the pipe to eliminate any clogs.
Usually, a leaky or dripping faucet is an easy fix that can be done by anyone who is even slightly handy with tools.. To fix it, first shut off the water under the sink then remove any decorative parts of the faucet and replace the washer and O-ring before reassembling everything.
To keep yourself safe from fraud or a possible scam, always remember to ask plumbers for their license along with a written warranty for their labor. Besides this, further safeguard yourself by checking their references and ensure they or their company is insured and bonded to do their work.
If you're having hot water issues, you can examine the thermostat and adjust it accordingly. If you hear odd sounds coming from your water heater, it could be due to sediment building up. To get rid of this, make sure you clean out the heater every few months. However, if you hear a boiling noise, it could mean the heater is overheating and you should call a plumbing professional as soon as possible.
