Jeff's Tree Service & Landscaping Inc.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. I contracted with them to remove some trees and do some trimming. That was in March and it’s now the end of June and the project is still not completed. If you are looking for someone that doesn’t show up when promised and when they do only work half days, then this company is for you. PS I would not recommend that you pay them a dime until the work is done.

Ebert Tree Service
Over the course of 3 months, I called 3 different times unsuccessfully requesting an estimate from Ebert Tree Services. The first time, I was told that somebody would be out "next week" to give me an estimate. I called a month later and they apologized and said that they'd be out "within the week" as they had other work near my house. After another month of silence, I called and asked to speak to a manager or owner and I was assured that "this is Mrs. Ebert" and she would ensure things were taken care of. Apparently talking to the owner/owner's wife had no impact either as once again, they couldn't be bothered with driving just a few miles to give me an estimate to make over a thousand dollars. If this is how potential customers are dealt with, I want absolutely nothing to do with this company.

We needed a very large tree removed in our front yard and we weren't sure who to call. After receiving two estimates from local tree companies we were glad we went with Timberlands. They were available the same day for an estimate and the work was completed the very next day. We would recommend them to anyone.

We ran into an issue while replacing our main sewer line and needed a very large tree removed. Timberlands came out that day and gave us an estimate that was $200 less than another local tree company. The very next morning the tree was removed. Excellent service and professional work!
Tips & Advices
Employers must conduct all required training in a language and vocabulary that workers can understand. Training must demonstrate the hazards of operating certain machinery, like stone cutters and splitters, as well as how to use them appropriately. It's important to verify that your landscape contractor has taken the necessary steps to fully train its personnel and that the appropriate safety precautions are in place.
Check the specific regulations for your area, and verify that your contractor has the necessary licenses. These may include a state contractor's license, pesticide license, CDL driver's license and license to sell and purchase nursery stock.
Landscape work is not cheap, so it's in your best interest to make sure that it's done to your requirements and that you get the best contractor to do the job. Homeowners should know how much they'll need to pay for the contractor's service as well as how they will be billed for this work. Ask about any design fees, if quoted prices are fixed or estimates, and what the payment process will be. Clarifying these items in the beginning will prevent any surprise expenses.
Yes. Homeowners should require that the contractor submit certificates verifying compliance with safety, insurance, workers' compensation and drug and alcohol testing programs. This will give you peace of mind that the contractor has gone through all the steps under industry regulations.
Yes. Every good contractor should have a list of recently completed jobs that you can see in their portfolio. They should also have a list of references that you can contact, or properties that you can see in person.
