Kool Smiles of Norfolk
My 5 year old daughter Jada had her first dental appointment today, and I am overjoyed that we chose Kool Smiles for her first experience. The building was easy to locate, clean inside, and has enough interactive activities to become a child's oasis. The staff was friendly and informative from the minute we walked in. I was fully informed on the dental process before it began. Jada also knew what to expect, because her Awesome hygienist took the time to explain every move, and tool she would use. She had a great visit with ZERO cavities. The dentist even took the time to take a picture with Jada before leaving. Kool Smiles has earned my business for years to come.

Today I walked into the office and was greeted by Katrina, Takeisha, Stephanie A. and Ms Yolanda their office manager. My son was seen in the ortho department by Dr Donaldson, Stephanie G, Ashley, and Angel. Then he got a cleaning Ms Farrah explained the treatment that was going to be done today. Edwin greeted us as we were walking to the different departments. Dr Suarez took very good care of my son. I am very please with the friendly and professional customer service that we received today. I will be returning to the Little Creek Kool Smiles. Thank you so very much for completing his sealants today so I do not have to return for another six months.

We're highly satisfied with the little creek office! We're always greeted by our family name and that feels good to know they think of us that much. My children and I and my husband have developed a trust with them which feels good! Very comforting being that my daughter had an extremely bad anxiety issue with being able to trust going to the dentist. They've been patient and understanding. Which in time she's now alot better! Ty for your help Kool smiles taking care of my children's dental needs.

The last few times I've been they were very helpful and nice. A big step up because I actually kept my kids away for about a year because the front desk was very rude. I had questions and I got snappy answers back. I was being nice and they still talked rude to me. I didn't feel like they gave a good impression on my kids. So I'm glad they greet you with smiles on their face. And it really does feel like a kid friendly office

Justiz and the whole Ortho gang are nothing but experts at what they do! I have 2 girls going thru ortho and they actually look forward to their appointments! Results can be seen immediately. The Little Creek office has to be the best staffed KS in VA, these people wear their smiles with pride, I know, I see them almost on a weekly basis. They are truly a one stop shop for any dental issues that my family has.

My kids have been going to this Kool smiles location from 2007 til now since we got station in Norfolk. My youngest was 1 and my oldest was 6. From day one I felt comfortable with my children here without having to go to the back with them. Katrina is awesome at what she does. She greets everyone with a kind smile and polite attitude. The atmosphere is very welcoming for the little ones and also for the adults.

I absolutely love this cool smiles. The staff is amazing I called at nine those morning to make an emergency appointment and they had the perfect time for me. I was running late for my appointment and they still took me. The staff are so patient with the children and I love that I can sit with my baby when she gets her treatment done. This office is great.

Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future

Just a moment...
