Winter Hours: M-F 8am - 5pm; Sat 8am-3pm; Sun-Closed Peninsula Hardwood Mulch was founded by Larry and Anna Wilson in September of 1988. 1996 became a very busy year for Peninsula Hardwood Mulch. The company phased out of the tree care and lawn care businesses. The Wilson's had realized that their passion was mulch, topsoil, and plants to say the least. During this year the company added another establishment to the already expanding Yorktown location. The company formally known as Sheldon Lumber was purchased so that the company could begin processing its own mulch material. In 2014 we opened our third location in Poquoson. Over the years Peninsula Hardwood Mulch has added many new products to our already existing materials. These products include stone pavers, edgers, bulk stone products, and colorized mulches that we produce in Toano. We have also added equipment and container rental. We have found that this helps to make us your one stop shop for all your landscaping needs. We have also settled at around 25 employees to help make your experience at Peninsula Hardwood Mulch more personable. 3 Locations:Yorktown-715 Lakeside Dr. Yorktown 23692 Toano- 7800-A Richmond Rd. Toano 23168 and Poquoson- 412 Wythe Creek Rd Poquoson 23662.

Ally's did a fine job trimming some large trees for us. They were very reasonable and willing to negotiate on the price. However, they damaged a couple of items while working (cracked stone bird bath and dropped a large branch on kids play house cracking the roof). Chris (the owner) said they would replace the items, but to this day they have not. Now they will not return our phone calls to discuss getting them replaced.

this company damaged my front gutter back in march 2016, and as of today oct 2016, he has not paid for the damages. I had to pay $1,000.00 to get new gutter. he not return any of my calls. Joe
I wanted to bring my yard up to level the house foundation, it was looking a bit irregular. Topsoil Center was able to solve my concerns, they have a competitive quote, but they were the company that provided me with most information, really knowledgeable people. The final job is awesome as well. Thanks!!

We've had annual service calls on 6 appliances now and every time we have called, we've had service arranged promptly. A smaller window for the service would be nice. Both service calls for the dryers were facilitated by decreased performance. This last 'service' ended with a recommendation to improve the vent line and a fairly lame explanation that wet clothes were falling against a sensor (yeah, now after a year of use that is mysteriously happening and when the only item in the dryer is a still wet mattress pad why did the sensor tell the dryer to stop?). We'll change out the vent line and see what happens. If it doesn't work... we'll just call them back out as that's what warranties are for.
