Took my sick cat in, had to wait quite a while (> 30 min) with a very sick cat even though I had the first appointment and I was on time. They wanted almost $400 to diagnose the cat + extra for treatment. I declined the expensive tests and the thankfully the cat got better with just antibiotics. I felt that the vet wasn't very knowledgeable and he wouldn't give me a reasonable guess at what the problem was. He said it could be x, y, z, etc etc, thus lets do a ton of tests. I felt that it was more about getting money than caring about my pet. I would not go back again. On the plus side, they saw me immediately, the place was clean and the nurses were very caring.\r I think that vets always seem expensive, but the prices here were much higher than the last vet I had (in Richmond) and I thought that they were expensive!

I highly recommend The Cat and Dog Hospital. I have tried several veterinary offices in Hampton Roads, and rank this one the best of them all. They are very professional, and yet also very compassionate. It is obvious that they love what they do, and the veterinarians are excellent. Their concerns are the health of your animal and your animal's relationship with you and your family.\r \r Appointments are available quickly, often the same day. For some routine care, they will tell you just to come in when you are ready. The time in the very clean waiting room is short, and the animals enjoy the socializing with other animals. They are kept on leashes or in carrying crates. \r \r I have taken pets to The Dog and Cat Hospital for preventive care, for illness, and for putting a loved pet to sleep. In each case, the vets and technicians were outstanding. They did not do unnecessary tests, but they were thorough as the situation required it. They were happy to find out the costs of procedures before getting your consent to do them. In the case of the miniature dachshund we needed to put to sleep, the vet, not being content with the ultrasound appointment being several days away, faxed information to get a much quicker appointment. When it was decided that the best thing for this aging and very ill dog was to put her to sleep, there was no argument from the vet. She spoke softly to my dog as she gave her the injections, and petted her until she died, all the while not getting into our way, so that we could have those last moments with our pets.\r \r I have just acquired a new kitten. We will be visiting The Dog and Cat Hospital this week, to have her shots and have her spayed. I know the care she will receive, both physically and emotionally, will be top-notch.

I LOVE this place! It used to be Casey Animal Hospital and was OK, but the new owners bought the practice in 2011 and have really made it a great place to take your pets. Dr. Harrell is still there and she is nice and the new owner is also one of the vets. She rocks! Got on the floor to examine my dog and made us feel at ease. She explained his problem and gave us alot of options to treat him that didnt cost a fortune. I wish my human doctor gave me that much time and care.

I met Dr. Schacker at Pet Smart and followed her to Midway. It was a bit of a drive for us but she is a wonderful vet. My husband asked me why I went to a vet so far away. I told him she was worth it. The first time my husband came with me to the vet, He understood why and agreed with me that she was a wonderful vet.

Not only have my appointments been on time, but it is clear to me that the veterinarians at Acredale Animal Hospital care about the animals they see as well as the families that bring their animals to be seen. I have a large breed dog and was very concerned that her back left leg was giving out. Dr. Kenny took his time examining my dog, asking me questions, sharing his opinion, and suggested treatment plans starting with the least medicinal and least invasive. He was absolutely 100% correct in his diagnosis. I take great comfort knowing I have a team of veterinarians that I can trust. I highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking care and treatment of their animals.

I am a newbie here and I was calling around asking for prices and yes they are a more expensive than surrounding clinics- but I was blessed to have a girl named Stephanie answer. She was bubbly, cheerful, asked me if I was excited about the holiday and new year- so nice. I made an appt for when she would be working and in person was very kind and cheerful. Hard now a days to walk into a business and have a cheerful person greet you. I like it here- so maybe from reading Sandys remarks...maybe its changed.

Dr. Neering is everything you could want in a vet (or a doctor for that matter!). We moved from Chesapeake to Hampton 3 years ago and still continue to take our cats to her. She doesn't give up -- even when things look bleak. She's agressive in her treatment, but realistic in letting you know what the outcomes could be. She's also very well educated and willingly brings forth both cliical research and anecdotal evidence that can help you understand what you're up against and help you make a decision. \r \r Our Madeline is alive and doing well today thanks to her dedication and unwavering committment. I also commend her compassion -- for both the pet and their person. I wish I could find a ""people"" doctor with the compassion, expertise, and committment that I have found in Dr. Neering. One reader wrote that CHA is pricey, but in my experience, they are no more expensive than lots of the others out there and certainly, in my experience -- MUCH better than. You get what you pay for!

I have been taking my dog to Dr. Radomski for 9 years. She was diagnosed by another vet as having several health issues that would be with her for life and most likely shorten her life. I moved shortly there after and found Dr. Radomski. He has kept her healthy for all these years without any extreme measures. I would proudly recommend him to anyone.

I feel awful about what happened to Byrne and his/her dog. I can certainly understand why that experience would lead to the review given. But my experience with them has been so vastly different.\r \r No, they are not inexpensive, but for the fuzzier members of my family, value is more important than price. Frankly, I do not know enough about veterinary medicine to address that issue. I can only address how my pets and I have been treated for nearly 20 years.\r \r The entire hospital is clean, but the atmosphere is anything but sterile. It is warm and welcoming, probably because everyone there is warm and welcoming. They take time to get to know your pet, answer any questions, explain any procedures, and make sure that both the pet and the pet owner are as relaxed as possible.\r \r They are the only people who could easily handle my rescued psychotic Lhasa Apso. When my daughter accidentally ran over the front legs of our Schipperke, a vet tech who had only come in to check on her schedule ended up staying 'til midnight to keep the dog company and to give me regular updates on her condition. After every non-routine visit I have received a follow-up call the next morning to check on progress.\r \r They do not just treat my pets as a collection of symptoms, but as beloved members of the family. And they treat the family, too. When the Schipperke/van wheel incident happened, I was invited to bring over her favorite foods and stay with her as long as I wanted. Each time we reached that awful decision that we must say good-bye to one of our dogs, their compassion was deep and genuine. \r \r It was only after found Sajo Farm that I discovered that a dog could actually pull on the leash to get into the vet's office. There's an intangible atmosphere of caring in there that will keep me coming back as long as I have pets. \r \r

Quality of care there has declined over the years. We had a cat, one of many we took there over 12 years, that was belatedly diagnosed w/ very painful pancreatitis. It took quite awhile for this to be diagnosed and multiple calls to get pain medication. By the time we got it, he was near death, a needlessly painful death. I'm general, it had seemed difficult for the vet to make definitive diagnosed. Noticed also that the office staff. We've also noticed that office staff less friendly is less friendly since office moved. We found another vet who made a definitive diagnosis of another cat who lived an extra year w/ fluid treatments for her kidney. This was never suggested at AM.

My aunt is pet lover and I used to be with her whenever she visits the clinic. I really love dogs so I am inspired and encouraged to have my own puppy and become a regular client of Dr. Nicole of Mercury Animal Hospital. My dog is very well attended by Dr. Nicole. Bubbles (my dog’s name) have complete vaccination and I regularly visit the clinic for her grooming and checkup. It is really great to have pet and a hospital I can call my pet's home away from home.

Let's get down to brass tax. It was less than $100 to get my dog seen by the vet and assistant. I know that sounds super rude to say first but it matters and people don't talk about how cheap they are for how much their facility can do. so I will. we brought our dog in for the same issue but with a different vet's office; it ran nearly $180. And I didn't feel as satisfied when I left them as when I left Todds lane Vet (went after condition got worse). TLVH seems like they would like to try many avenues to come up with the right one for the client (budget) and do what is absolute best for the Patient. I have and will continue to send them business and they will have ours until we get orders.

Dr. Johnson and his staff particularly Amy, Ashley, Kyle and Tara were wonderful addressing all my concerns with my rescue dog. They took the time to fit him in early for needed surgery and helped put all my fears to rest. I do agree some procedure could be done cheaper at another location, however, if you are a animal owner/lover like myself I tend to care more about my pets comfort and the quality of work than discounts. You can tell the moment that you walk in that they care intensely about your concerns and the wellbeing of the furry animal and I cannot say enough good things about them. I was also impressed with the detailed quote I received for the procedure so no cost was left hidden when I paid my bill. My little guy is now on his way to a recovery and hopefully this will be the end of addressing his aliments from abuse and neglect from his previous home. Thank you!!!
