2.York Street Cafe
738 York St
I have been to York Street several times for lunch and dinner. I have never had a bad meal or a bad experience. I recommend this as a ""different place"" to go. The interior decorations of items from the 60's and 70's always make me smile or laugh and the food has always been great!
1711 Monmouth St
Good lookin' servers! Friendly and prompt service. Food looks phenomenal when they aren't too busy. Be prepared to wait for a seat on Saturdays and Sundays. Great lunch menu: several types of salads and soups! Classic breakfast restaurant (recommend biscuits & gravy, cinnamon pancakes, or strawberry crepes); and the atmosphere is traditional, home-style, family oriented. Kids eat free Tuesdays! They have cheap carryout "family meals" (feeds 4-6) for $20 and offer curbside service to your car. You can tell they have MANY regular customers and come in often, because the whole staff knows them by name when they walk in the door.
600 Washington Ave
One of the best restaurants in the area. Great service and atmosphere. Acoustics make it a bit loud. Calimari is outstanding... not the typical fried cheap marinara style you get at most other places. Feel good place for dinner with family, friends.
5.El Rio Grande
34 Carothers Rd
The best Mexican restaurant around. Great service and food with huge portions and a reasonable price!
6.Mitchell's Fish Market

This place is awesome! Me and my friends have been here in the past and aon occasion the service has been scetchy but, our last few visits were great. They have a great scene, good music, big strong drinks and a good crowd. We took a large group of girls there last time and had a blast with our server! Highly reccomend getting the nachos and the late night happy hour!

11.Casual Chinese Restaurant
88 Carothers Rd
Try the General Tso Chicken because once you do you will come back again and again. I have been eating there for about 14 yrs and love this place. Because the owner a very nice man likes to maintain quality he does not put baby corn in any of his dishes, he said they come from a can for restaurants and he thinks they aren't that great. The Crab Ragoon are the best, close to Cathay's Kitchen but a little better. They don't over bread the chicken or leave the fat on like some places do. Since moving to Boone Co I have had some real crap Chinese from the places that deliver. Other places I tried because they didn't was sickening sweet like maple syrup for any dish like Gen Tso. Egg Rolls are good but did have a wee bit better. Soups are awesome any of the appetizers. This place is so good I drive from past Florence Mall to get food, it seriously is that good.

I've have eaten here for years and I don't know why I've not posted a review for La Mexicana. It's like not introducing your best friend to a great woman you've know for a long time. I always have the same thing, not just because I'm predicable, but also the burrito pollo is always delicious. And my lord is it huge. Something that big is never on a lunch menu. This ain't Chipotle with 80% rice, 10% beans and then dig around to find the meat. There must be a full piece of white meat of chicken in this thing. If you look closely at the ingredients you'll actually find vegetables. I'm not kidding. Most Mexican restaurants smoother meager portions with carne, cheese or guac sauce. La Mexican puts the red or green chili sauce on the table so you can self-sauce to taste. The chips are thick and generic, but instead of same ole' salsa are served with a bowl of green chili sauce that is spicy enough to clear your sinuses, but not so much that you'd stop eating them. Just take an extra chip, with out sauce, to clear the kick from your taste buds. The variety of meats is huge, including brains. The also have bottle of Coca-Cola from Mexico (Which, from what I've read recently, is not made with 100% cane sugar). While it's in downtown Newport there's plenty of parking behind the store, from there it's just a walk through the tienda to the restaurant. The décor is bland the food is not.

The only thing missing is they need more latinos. I love the bottomless tacos they do here, and the service is always on point. Totally try this place out - it is a chain, yes, but a good one. They also have others ""middle of the road"" entrees as well - like a real juicy rib eye steak.
15.Strong's Brick Oven Pizzeria
336 Monmouth St
I love their pizza. The staff is warm and friendly without being overbearing. I highly recommend Strongs Brick Oven Pizza to all my friends.
16.Brio Tuscan Grille
1 Levee Way Ste 1140
Moved from NYC to Cinti 2 yrs ago. I had 30+ Italian restaurants in my neighborhood in NY, but found nothing here that comes close to a high quality, affordable, truly Italian meal, until I found Brios. Granted, its large and noisy, not a small trattoria as I had hoped. But, the food is excellent and the prices, though not cheap, are reasonable.

18.Fantasy In Frosting

Having lived in Turkey and loved the food I was surprised how good Cafe Istanbul was. Another surprise was a reasonable selection of good wines. If you go, take a friend and share the sample appetizer plate - its outstanding.
22.Green Derby Kentucky Bistro
846 York St
Food is excellent! Fish dinner was superb. The coconut cream pie, for a coconut lover like me, was to die for. The service was the best. We were here about 4:30-5:00 pm. Not busy for a Saturday, the atmosphere is nice. Linda

The service was excellent. The food was served at the proper temperature. My steak was cooked as ordered - medium well.

This was a quaint place we found while traveling. They have great Cajun food, but also, some good non-cajun food. The shrimp was unbelievable!

Food was sub par at best, ive had much better white castles. The were short staffed so service was slow. Lastly the entire back side of the store is parking traped, just watched a car get towed.
27.The Hong Kong Restaurant
1781 Monmouth St
Nestled in the Newport Shopping Center, you will find Hong Kong Restaurant Buffet. This is a very affordable restaurant that would stand on it's own if it weren't for two problems. First, the extremely low price draws a seedy crowd with questionable hygiene. I won't elaborate - use your imagination! SEcond, given the clientele, the cleanliness and sanitation precautions are inadequate. There are not enough dividers and sneeze guards. There are not enough staff to monitor the buffet. The food is probably good enough for the price. There are certainly enough offering including a limited selection of sushi rolls and crab legs with the dinner offerings.
527 York St
Absolutely horrible experience. I got a takeout order only to put it on the floor of my car for the hot curry to leak through the cheap plastic container and bag they give you. It got all over the floor of my car and I had to get it detailed which cost $100. The worse part about it was that it wasn't able to come out completely. To make matters even worse, I went to the restaurant to address my complaint which was a joke. Of course, the owner was not willing to compensate me for the damages that occurred approx. the minute i left the restaurant. It doesn't end there. I was accused of lying by one of the employees whom said It was an hour ago that I left the restaurant, which it had only been about 20-25 mins since i literally went home and immediate scrubbed the floor. The employee was the only non indian, white caucasian male there whom threatened me since I was asking for compensation for the damages and refused no for an answer, not understanding what the owner was trying to say. He threatened me asking me to meet him out in the parking lot and then while i was leaving told me he told me he gets off at ten and acted like he was reaching for a gun. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I understand that they are not liable when the food leaves the store, but when you claim more than half of your business as a carry out restaurant, then you should probably invest in materials that can handle the food you serve to be cleanly transported to the customers destination. The way they package take out orders is equivalent to putting a wet rag in a paper bag. I understand that your overhead is the costliest component of running a restaurant, but I don't think that cheap carry out materials is worth putting my reputation and quality on the line for. Definitely not worth my money or my time.
