Stemberger & Cummins Attorneys
Where do I begin? We are 1000 miles away, literally! My brother got into some big trouble down there in Georgia. We did know how he was going to get him out of this. We hired a lawyer in a rush to get him out on bail and back home without doing much research and I was later unsatisfied. I prayed to God that he would send someone to help my brother and as I researched lawyers day and night! I found Mr. Cummins. He had just faced charges up here and then got into trouble down there; we did not know how we were going to get him out of this one. Initially we there were only two charges a felony (burglary) and a misdemeanor. Later another felony charge where he faced up to 15 years in prison. This was his second offense, when I tell you this was a disaster, this was the worst. He was able to get my brother probation. Can you believe that? PROBATION!!!! Every lawyer I spoke with in o many words said it was impossible, that he would go t prison for the charges he was up against. I called and talked to Scott and told him our situation and he made me feel secure from the first day we spoke. He was ready to get started on the case and the plan he had to get the best result for my brother. Scott and his team are VERY professional, HARD working, RESPECTED in the community and about his BUSINESS! We love his paralegal Michelle, she was great! I also I could go on and on about Scott. WHATEVER THE PRICE……PAYYYYYY. THIS IS THE CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY YOU WANT ON YOUR SIDE. EVERYTHING YOU CAN SAY AMAZING ABOUT A LAWYER IS SCOTT CUMMINS!

Law Office Of Michael West P.C.
I saw lots of great reviews on Google for Mr. West and so I met with him. Initially I was impressed by him and the way my bankruptcy was going. His office would return calls and provide the information I needed, but then again, as much as I was paying for my Chapter 7, I would hope that would be the case. The most disappointing thing about the whole process was my hearing. I felt that this was the most vital part to my cases success. When I showed up to my hearing I looked everywhere for Mr. West but he never showed up. He sent an attorney that doesn't even work with his office, and in fact upon further research, doesn't even live in Newnan, to handle my hearing. I would have expected that from an big Atlanta law office, but one of the reasons I went to him was the fact that he was a local lawyer in a small firm that promised personal service. In the end my case was successful but instead of feeling like a valued client, I felt like I was just another paycheck for Mr. West.

My son was facing four felony charges coupled with four misdemeanors, Scott Cummins was able to have the four felony charges completely dismissed and reduced the charges to only two misdemeanors. A year later, our son was charged with two additional felonies. Once again, Mr. Cummins was able to keep him out of prison and sentenced to probation. These miracles were accomplished by Mr. Cummins because of his personal dedication, professional ability and his tenacity. He is detail oriented, extremely thorough and willing to go the extra mile. His integrity is without question and he is well respected throughout the Coweta County judicial system. The bottom line is results and if you need a criminal lawyer who gets results, you won't go wrong with Scott Cummins. I highly recommend him

Scott Cummins got my DUI case dismissed during pre-trial motions. Every piece of evidence was suppressed. That meant that I didn't even have to bear the expense and time of a trial. He is extremely thorough and his personal investment in getting the best result possible for his client is obvious. It was also clear to me that he is highly respected by the officers, prosecutors, and judges. As a law student myself, I deal with lawyers and future lawyers every day, and Scott impressed me more than practically anyone I've met. If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in a situation where you need a DUI lawyer, I cannot express how much I would recommend Scott Cummins.

Harmon & Gorove Attorneys At Law
I had a great experience with Harmon and Gorove. My case was complicated as I am on disability, but they took care of my case quickly and efficiently. Mr. Gorove handled my case from start to finish. I wasn't handed off to some other lawyer from another firm like other lawyers I had worked with before did. Mr. Gorove answered my phone calls himself, responded to my emails quickly and his staff helped me get all my documentation together. I'm so thankful for their patience, knowledge and understanding. They literally took care of everything for me.

Scott Cummins did a great job for me on my accident case. I was seriously injured by a big log truck, but several witnesses said the accident was all my fault and the insurance company would not pay me a dime for my injuries and medical bills. I went to Scott for help, and he fought hard for me and was very detailed with the evidence, and got me a settlement of over $500.000.00. I would highly recommend Scott and his Lawfirm to anyone injured in an accident

I worked with Ms. Barrett and Mr. Gorove about 4 months ago. I absolutely recommend them. They are so understanding and so compassionate. I don't know how I would have made it through without their help. They made me feel like a valued client, not just another head of cattle.

Lisa is a very nice person but she really dropped the ball with a recent divorce action. Needed a tiger and she just didn't step up. Very disappointed and would not recommend her for a divorce case.

I can't say enough good things about this firm. They stopped the foreclosure on my house and ended my garnishments. They handled my case quickly and professionally.
Tips & Advices
When it comes time to choose a lawyer, you should start by searching close to home. If you do have attorneys you are familiar with, ask who they believe would be best for you. After going through personal references - especially from individuals who had similar needs - you should broaden your search through public information resources. You can call your area's attorney referral service or check legal organizations like Martindale-Hubbell. There are other resources available online, such as yellowpages.com. You can check websites for client reviews and other third-party forms of approval.
If you sign documents and you come across a word you don't recognize, or you need help to navigate important employment or real estate paperwork. Also, during times when personal matters intersect with legal proceedings, you might need to have an advocate to prevent your emotions from getting in the way. If you've been accused of a crime or are in a terrible financial situation, you can find an attorney who will work with what you have available.
When you hire a lawyer, you're agreeing to work with someone over a certain period of time. The more forthcoming the lawyer appears to be with individual needs, the better.
  • You need to ask questions about how the attorney will communicate with you and what responsibilities you hold in the relationship.
  • The attorney should let you know the best channel for quick communication and you need to inform him or her when you want updates.
  • You should also ask questions to get to know the attorney as an individual in order to ensure this is a person you can trust. Ask about their legal philosophy and how he or she views the lawyer/client relationship. Ask as how to keep fees down or what daily disruptions you should expect from a long legal battle.
You need to ask about every possible fee that will come up when working with an attorney. You should request a list of all costs in advance so you won't be surprised by additional expenses like overhead. Also determine exactly when you will start being billed. You want to inspect paperwork carefully. If the attorney charges you for his or her experience, you need to make sure he or she will perform tasks personally and not hand it off to an assistant. Find out if the attorney has a flat fee or charges by the hour. Many civil lawyers work on contingency. Make inquiries about how the lawyer plans to provide service for your money and what you can do if you start to feel unsatisfied with his or her performance.
You can ask how many similar cases they have handled and if they have special skills or training that applies specifically to your needs. Lawyers can't mention clients by name, but you should ask for basic details about identical past cases. You should check their office for the appropriate certifications and diplomas. You can also ask how long he or she has practiced law and request information that demonstrates the practice's success. Look for precise details such as percentage of cases settled out of court.
