Wow it was fun and I had a blast. So I found my self telling my friends back home about Posh. I expressed I didn't know anyone here and was feeling lost. and my friends back home pushed me to go out and I am glad I did. I was walking around the area and came across Posh Bar I popped in and I have to say wow I am glad I did. I had a blast and the bartenders made me feel so welcome. They were sweet and kind oh yeah and very sexy. So I stayed out way to late the music was great and the other guys hanging out made some great conversation. You know I am so going back. I hear they have some fun Drag Queens I can't wait.

Not sure what the other reviewers who wrote negative reviews REAL objections to the Duplex were but as a long time patron and sometime cabaret performer I felt the need to weigh in. The reason why I have been such a devoted customer (for over 10 years) is the staff. They are terrific. The talent throughout is the best in any of the piano bars and cabarets in Manhattan and I have been to ALL of them. I do know that if someone in the piano bar open mic is very drunk or a really bad singer (or has a really bad attitude) they will discourage them from singing in order to spare the rest of the patrons. That also gives more time to let the Broadway talents that come get up and sing instead. But the staff is anything BUT rude, the drinks are competitively priced (hey - it IS Manhattan!) and as for the cover charge in the cabaret room that is set by the performer not the club. I know this because I have performed there. And there is a drink minimum or minimum charge in every cabaret venue in town.\r \r So all in all - If you are looking for a great Manhattan piano bar/ cabaret experience the Duplex is the place to go! If you'd like a cheap drink and an open mic where anyone can get up regardless of talent or how drunk they are there are TONS of karaoke bars in New Jersey that would be perfect for you!!

Don Hill's came alive with the energy and infectious pulse of Reggae music when the REGGAEHOLICS dance parties started in July 2009. A multi-cultural and multi-racial crowd packs the place the 2nd Friday night of every month for the celebration. Everyone seems to have a great time. The show features jamming, high energy Reggae sets by renown underground turntable masters, and occasionally live performances by established and up and coming artists. Admission is reasonably priced, with frequent discount perks, drinks specials, groups and party offers. Don Hill's Rocks on Reggae nights!
9.La Nueva Escuelita
301 W 39th St
Is an amazzing place if you like Blk and Lationo guys, well by latinos I mean the hotties, Puertoricans and Dominicans, and if you are in to hip hop and any trendy music. If you are in to the other kind of latinos go to Atalantis, Luchos and so on in Jackson Heights, so you are gonna listen horrible latino and gay music and most of the patrons are ugly as hell, lol. Now remember, a lot of atractive young guys with a thug look (not always attitude) looking for the same, yung. So please understand if you are not in to the new trends you are gonna get BORED.\r Excelente si buscas Morenos I Latinos, quiero decir guapos, ya sabes Puertorique?os y Dominicanos, si te gusta la musica Hip Hop y estas en onda.
10.Code Bar & Lounge
255 W 55th St
Pro: Friendly staff, Trendy, Great Manhattans. Con: Weak cosmo, $6 special but a weak drink is just that. On reserving the back room pls notify clients of a pending reservation in advance, rather than move them later to a crowded front section for a small group (8-10) where less than half ordered drinks - where's the logic? Code lost 8 dedicated drinkers Saturday night. Final: Recommended - but must address shortcomings.
77 Kinderkamack Rd
Went on a wed and sat and the place is very dirty , it smells like someone died , the bartenders are very rude and nasty the drinks very strong and cheap well that's a good thing , there's no manger on duty . the dancers are Nasty and pushy for a buck., coat check people are rude and old . blond lady whom gets the money at the door is also rude . music sucks, I rather listen to the radio. the security guards are very tuff at the door which makes me feel very safe they double id everyone even if they look of age . which I don't agree . parking is great.FREE 2 times and the last time. No not recommend

15.Brandy's Piano Bar
235 E 84th St
We went to Brandy's last night because a friend recommended it to us while we were in town. We had a blast! The music was fantastic. That piano player was amazing, he knew every song without looking at his music. Then the staff all took turns singing. I don't know where they found these people, but they are all so talented. Reading the other reviews, I was skeptical, but nobody was rude to us, in fact, they sang almost everything that we requested. There really need to be more places like this. It's so amazing to see live performers! I may have to open one up in London when I get home!!
348 W 52nd St
Me and a couple buddies decided to go and were very pleasntly surprised. The server was awesome and friendly. He honored our 2 for 1drink specials even after 8pm. The food was surpisingly really good, who knew a lounge could have great food. Drinks were strong enough to give me a buzz, so that was good. I loved the decor, it had a very modern and ""sex-in-the-city"" feel to it.

Pretty cool place. Reasonably priced drinks. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Oh and some pretty cute chicks.

$3-$8 for a thurs, fri or sat night!!.. the most respectful door gentleman in clubland, whos velvet rope is used only to keep the sidewalk clear...youre in, you pay, you dance your a** off til 4am, and if booze is your thing - $10 will get you SEVERAL beers or a few hard drinks! and the bartenders are FRIENDLY! most ""mega"" clubs could learn alot from the pyramid about how to please their customers. the pyramid has regulars - people who are addicted to good service and a good time...just like me - the ICON of the pyramid club! i dance shirtless, glazed in baby oil, on stage all night long (and girls, this is a good thing)! and i danced for 9 yrs at a ""mega club"" before finding my real home at the pyramid. no fights, no attitude, no worries about anything but which bathroom to use (there are 4)!! oh, music...the best of the 80s, from pop madonna and michael to the darker sounds of alternative/goth rock depeche mode and the cure. and down on the lower level, industrial techno where all the ""children of the night"" decend to for some serious stomping. got a song request? the djs have a request book that they DO follow!!! i can only criticize the location: ave A between 6/7th - and i can criticize it only because i live in NEW JERSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would not travel 4 hrs each night - 3 nights per week if the pyramid club was not everything that ive just claimed it to be! as i enter my 3rd year there im only trying to draw to it the attention of everyone who seeks - desperately - the kind of nyc nightclub experience that once was in a lot of places, but now - for me - lives imortally at the pyramid club!!!! oh, and did i mention a ""gentleman"" at the door?!
363 5th Ave
As a patron of Gingers for many years, i can only say that Sheila, the bars owner, is a credit to the neighbourhood. As a lot of bars have come & gone over the years, Gingers has withstood the test of time (having recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary!). The barstaff are a great bunch of characters, always friendly, and generous in both their banter & buy backs. I support Sheila & Gingers wholeheartedly.... and wish them 10 more fun filled years. Cheers!! Gingers also features a pool table, a garden in the back of the bar, a really fun karaoke night (alt. Thurs), a cool jukebox, and sometimes the one & only DJ Crissy P will honor us with a hot, jumpin' dance night... Just a great place to hang out. Dig it...
20.The Ritz Bar and Lounge
369 W 46th St Frnt 2
I went here last night (Friday) for only the second time. I had a great time! The place was packed and the dancefloor was crazy crowded but there were no attitudes and a good mix of ages. You can't help but bump into other people but no once cares. The drinks are weak but I took care of that by giving the bartender a healthy tip and making sure I patronized only him, problem solved. The dancefloor was littered with ice, plastic cups, bottles and spilled drinks but who cares? It's simple, don't go in with an attitude, you WILL have fun here and you can find someone here. When we arrived the line to get in was incredibly long but we got in fast. If you drive in leave your coat in your car because the line for the coat check takes forever.
157 W 24th St Frnt A
I love this bar! The staff is always very friendly and the drinks are great, especially the 2-4-1 during happy hour!!! Don't miss out :)

505 E 6th St Frnt 1
I loved the place, its a mix of all, love the way the owners express their diverse individuality through the decor and the environment. This is a place where you bring your friends to start off the evening and you end up staying the whole night(getting really drunk) I love the vibe. you should just relax and become one with the surrounding. This was one place where i didn't feel nervous when i entered. Most fun i had in a long time.
447 E 13th St
I have to say the only reason I first went in to this bar was because I live across the street. But I go back everynight because its a great bar, I love the guys, service and atmosphere.
401 W 47th St Frnt A
I like this place a lot. I live in Chicago but work in new York quite a bit and have quickly grown tired of the way too trendy pretty boy bars in Chelsea where the drinks are weak and expensive. Barrage seems more down-to-earth, still has a few cute boys, and serves very strong, relatively inexpensive mixed drinks. Bartenders are nice and not flirty. (good and bad) Crowd is much more relaxed than Chelsea and you can still meet people if you work a little harder.
8 Christopher St
Friendly, inexpensive and reliably fun. Special party or show for every day of the week. Karaoke on tuesdays is my favorite along with bingo and the broadway clip show, both of those feature vodka stinger, a drag queen who is really very funny. They have lots of drinks for just $3, which is rare in nyc. Been going there for 15 years, it actually has improved. Love it!

559 Lorimer St
Great spot, my favorite gay bar in the city. Great beer selection, friendly bartenders, a mixed crowd (woman-friendly) and a lush back garden where they do BBQ in the summers. Best of all, it's always lively without ever being so packed you can't move.
221 E 58th St Frnt 1
I don't know what the woman in the last review is talking about but this place ROCKS! First off, I've been coming to this spot with my galpals before it changed to Evolve. And since becoming new last year, I have only heard, seen, and felt the most positive changes - one being the encouragement of more women coming in and hanging out. I go almost every Friday and Saturday night and have the best time. Living on the east side, this place makes it an excuse for me NOT to trek all the way to the west side where most of the popular spots are. In fact, the weekends seem to be the nights that I see a healthy amount of straight and gay mixes, and about a 1/3 are WOMEN! Now I can't tell if those women are gay, but whichever way they swing, they seem to have a good time from what I can tell (and so do my girls)! I also heard there is a gay night on Tuesdays for women they are trying to promote so this place CAN'T be hating on girls. \r \r The music is always jammin' (modern, eclectic, popular and loungey); the bartenders are the friendliest and pretty cute; the drinks are nicely priced for what you get (happy hour prices are incredibly nice to my wallet); the decor is shiek yet casual; the dancers (on Saturdays) are super hot; the manager came up to us and told us how he was ''delighted"" to see me and my 2 girlfriends hanging out and that he'd love to see more women come in (I'm not sure if he is gay and was hitting on my girlfriends but he certainly was cute); and it's finally nice to walk into what I understand is a predominantly gay bar and see real ladies rockin it out with the boys. All bars, gay or straight, should be this inclusive. The door certainly swings both ways. And, if any woman, gay or not, does walk into a casual, neighborhood-type GAY bar, expect to see some men using the ladies' room.\r \r The only thing I wish this place had were more acts or events during the week. But other than that, this place is where I call my haunt!
