Wonderful Flooring was recommended to me by my cousin who recently had her floors refinished with a natural stain and of course they came out beautiful! Daniel's team did an amazing job on our floors throughout our new home (4 rooms and a hallway - 680 SQFT), we also had them refinished however we chose to go with a dark walnut stain and matte finish and I have to say Wonderful Flooring nailed it! We were undecided on 2 stains (Jacobean and Dark Walnut) and since we didn't want to go too dark, we went with dark walnut and I am so glad we did! I have to say that I was nervous when I saw the floors after the first coat of finish because it looked too glossy and when I mentioned it to Daniel, he said that normally happens with the first coat and he was right! We are planning on using Wonderful Flooring for the balance of our home. As a side note, you have to be patient with Daniel and his team as they are very busy but trust me and trust them, you won't be disappointed!

Wonderful Flooring came right out to review the job, provided a verbal estimate which they followed up in writing, made an appointment to do the job within a few days of the estimate and came on the appointed date. They did a great job refinishing the floors and matching the stain color to my existing woodwork. My floors are almost 100 years old and not in the best shape and they made them look beautiful! I would recommend Wonderful Flooring without hesitation.

We have used Wonderful Flooring twice to install new hard wood floors and once to refinish our original floors. They are timely, polite and do a great job. We are thinking of putting hard wood into our den and if we do we will use them again.

Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.
