Melt Down Grilled Cheese
I am a normal human being who doesn't stare creepily at girls I don't know and I don't chew on cardboard to remember what it tastes like. As a normal, fully-functional member of society I eat my delicious grilled cheese (usually the crab one, damn it's delicious) proudly and out in the open and then review it objectively. And my review is this: their food is delicious. The cane sugar-sweetened soda comes in many flavors and is delicious. The goat cheese they use in their berry goat salad is delicious. The generous helpings of crab in their crab sandwich combined with whatever that cheese is, is DELICIOUS. Maybe it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it sure is mine, and as a loyal customer I'll be damned if all these sour reviews (on this site and others) hurt the business of one of the few restaurants in town I regularly enjoy with my friends. Go try it yourself and be the judge, I'm guessing you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Melt Down Grilled Cheese
MeltDown? More like Letdown!------------------------------------------After waiting and waiting for the restaurant to open (4-5 days after the original stated opening date) I needed to try this place out. I finally went, just an hour ago, and boy was that a bad idea. I walked into the restaurant, looked behind the counter and saw a staff of about 15-17. 7 of them were standing there doing nothing while the others worked to make the "Grilled Cheese." After waiting 10 minutes and making occasional eyes with the cute cashier, I received my meal, grilled mac and cheese, and went back to my apartment to eat it. I opened the box and what I saw was a disappointment. Two slices of cheap bread (which tasted like cardboard) and barely cooked mac and cheese awaited my scared, quivering lips. As I took a bite, I knew that this restaurant would surely be a fad. Boy was that the worst grilled cheese I've ever eaten! But I still ate it. I wanted to see if I could. I could, but not without a displeased half frown on my face. After finally finishing the "grilled cheese" (Thank God it's over!) I realized I still had chips to eat. The chips were called "Krunchers Original" chips. I opened it up and took a chip. I ate the chip and made a sudden realization. WOW! These taste like cardboard! I then took a bite out of my cardboard MeltDown box (Yes, a bit much, but I did) and realized that yes, indeed, the chips did taste like cardboard. Besides the adorable cashier, I believe that the meal overall was a 0 star meal. I could make better grilled cheese in half the time for half the price. Oh yeah, for my grilled mac and cheese, it was 7.50. 7.50!! What a ridiculous waste of money. Never again MeltDown!!

McGlynns Pub & Restaurant - Peoples Plaza
Looking for Pub Fare with a great neighborhood feel? This is it! This is the original McGlynn's & it has been around for 20+ years, but the location has been a neighborhood bar since I was a a child in Drummond Hill in the early 70s. During snowstorms they stay open because everyone will walk to McGlynn's just to get out for a chat. The food is better than any other "pub" environment. Their french onion soup is top-notch. Looking for a good round of bar trivia or a great sports game... they've got it on! Looking to make new friends.... McGlynn's crowd will welcome you, they are one of the only places around where you can actually feel comfortable walking in alone. (you won't leave without making a few friends, the staff & the regulars ((local teachers many)) will see to that) Go to the bar in the center of the room or get a cozy booth or table along the sides or by the fireplace in the side room to the right. There is even a banquet room in the back for private parties. Nightly specials abound. Popcorn at the entrance. Friendly staff year after year..... how many places can boast that? My personal favorites are the cheese tray, hummus, or the turkey sandwich on a pretzel bun..... yum! They even have a frequent diners club that makes it very easy to rack up points for meal credits. This is a place you can take your kids for a late dinner or take your friends for a drink at the same hour & not have a conflict with all works and co-exists harmoniously. Where else can you find that in Delaware?

Just a moment...
