I found Deltire by accident. After getting a flat near Newark on I95, I put the doughnut tire on and then starting calling places I found searching on my phone. Most of brand name places said - leave the car here or wait 3 hours. My wife and I were driving to Virginia so that would not work. When I called Joe, he said he understood and would work me in. He did just that and I was on the road with the repaired tire in just over an hour. I know quite a bit about cars and car repair and I was very impressed with the Joe the owner, his shop's equipment and his attention to doing a job right. I will certainly be stopping in for alignment and tire work for my vehicles in the future. Thanks Joe and DELTIRE.

My car was pulling seriously to the left and after 4 visits, and many dollars, to my local car dealership the problem was not fixed. One quick visit to Deltire and Joe was able to quickly diagnose the problem (a left front tire that had worn unevenly) and, for $10, switched front tires. A slight pull to the right now is a vast improvement until such time as I can replace the tires. Joe was thorough, test drove the car with me and explained exactly what the issue was. He didn't try to sell me new tires (since mine still have good tread on them) but I know where I'll go when the it's time to replace them! Thanks, Joe!

Palumbo's Car Care Center, Inc.
I called around to different stores for tire pricing and had a good feel about Palumbo's the price was competitive and they had the tires in stock. We made the appointment and went to Palumbo's for the set of tires. We arrived about 45 min ahead of our appointment (finished our lunch early). They drove our car into the shop right away. The 4 tires were installed and our car was completed BEFORE our original appointment time. Professional , courteous & prompt. Angela T.

Got Online quote by Palumbo himself. When my wife dropped off her car they told her they had to check her Nissan because they use "special" tires. I pulled up as they were outside and suddenly the tires were the right ones in the quoted price. Nice try! Other than that little scam the work was okay and pretty quick. I went back and got my fronts done on our other car a few months later. No surprises that time. Can't blame them for trying I suppose.

Jamie's Auto Repair
Went to Jamie's with a wheel & tire problem no other shop could help with and wound up receiving the best service and price in the entire area. The competence of the entire staff should noted and I'd like to thank technician Bryan for the great work. I'll definitely be using Jamie's for all of my auto repair needs exclusively from now on. Honest mechanics are hard to find which is all the more reason to use jamie's.

Palumbo's was fast & great got me back on the road for my trip without the family being mad at me. The dealer who sold me the vehicle never told me I didn't have a spare tire, would have saved me time & being towed but Mr. Melvin did amazing job getting me towed and back to my family safely...Thanks

Very professional, very clean and tidy, and nicely priced. I met Joe a little over a year ago and he's been an honest and wonderful mechanic for as long as I have known him! His brother Al next door at R&M is a great man as well! Wonderful business...highly recommended!!! A+ B.B.B rating!
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
