I threw a surprise party for my fiance. The owners and staff could not have been more accommodating and pleasant. I approached the owners a month before the party and they as helpful as I could have asked for. It was a busy Saturday night during the holiday season and I can't believe how well everything went. The second floor party room was perfect for the 40 or so guests that came to celebrate. The appetizers that were brought out by the wait staff were perfect. They even lit the candles, cut the cake that we brought, and served it to the guests. Some of the guests even ordered their own dinners, which were brought out right away. Bartender was excellent too! Thanks to Paul and Ann for a great evening with friends and family!

I went to Shula's this weekend for a show and had a great experience. It was a bit hard to find as its in the Westin hotel and has a small door on the street level to get in. It was rather busy but the service was still attentive. I ordered the cowboy steak and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The lobster bisque was delicious too. The winelist was priced well with some good steakhouse selections. Didn't have room for dessert but I will definitely be back soon!!

This place was awesome! The food comes at an excellent time. They let kids draw on the tables. Which are covered in paper. Some days, it's very packed. Like many brewery's, they usually have long waits on weekend nights. But you can call ahead and do reservations. They seat you as soon as you walk in the door. Plus, the food is delicious! They also display the food in an exceptional way. You must go to this place if you visit New York!

12.Morton's The Steakhouse
551 5th Ave
My wife and I ate at Morton's on Christmas Eve, and were thrilled to have picked such a great spot. We enjoyed a cocktail in the bar beforehand, and were then promptly seated at our table. The service is first class, and the staff dont over do it and give guests just the right amount of attention. The food is sublime, one of the best steaks I have had in NYC. We will definately be returning to Morton's in 2008. Highly recommended.

Service was superb. Unrushed and attentive. Waitress looked and spoke like PHD student. Meats are great. Deserts are tasty. Prices are very reasonable. Highly satisfied with food and atmosphere. There were 4 of us and all had the same good things to say about food and service. Stumbled upon this place completely by accident. What a great find. I love NY:)

Oh, WOW! What a great find. Have been eating steak around the city for the last 15 years and I think I've found my favorite porterhouse right here. My and the wife agreed that this steak is definitively the best we had in town. Visited the WTC site and we happend to find this place at the moment we were both starving from a day full of walking. We ordered the porterhouse for two wondering if it was enough. When it came, we realized that the amount of meat on our plate could feed 4 easily. The spicy mashed potatoes combined with the deadly broccoli rabe is an out of this world combination. Steak was tender, juicy and cooked to perfection, just as ordered. Nice relaxed, cozy athmosphere and a staff that knows what's going on in the kitchen. Overall, tremendous value for the money, great service and exceptional steak. We'll definitely be back here very soon!

19.Park East Grill

I recently had dinner here with my spouse to celebrate our third wedding anniversary - the food was great, the waiter was nice & our mixed drinks (we did not order wine) were good. The desserts were good - including the strawberry shortcake - the food is yummy by all standards. If I was not familiar with the rules of koshrut, I would not have known that certain items were non-dairy. I intend to come back next month.

I?d give this place more than 5 stars if I could? I bought a $75 prix fixe gift certificate for 2 people from Buy With Me. So each of us had to pick an appetizer, an entr?e, a dessert and we shared a bottle of white wine. We were seated immediately upon arrival. The atmosphere was cozy and the music was nice - not too loud. So it?s a good place to go to if you actually want to talk to your party. The Pasta Carbonara I had was excellent. The sauce was rich and creamy and they used plenty of crispy bacon and parsley. My husband ordered the Tagliata alla fiorentina and it was amazing. The Angus sirloin steak was cooked to perfection. The arugula salad was nicely paired with soft goat cheese and some olives. (I can?t comment on the desserts yet. We were in a hurry to catch a show, so we took them to go. The ricotta cheesecake does look amazing and I can?t wait to try it tomorrow.) The service was extremely good ? friendly, but classy at the same time. We never had to look around for our waiter. He was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, as well as their wines. He was also attentive and asked us if we wanted more fresh pepper, parmesan, etc. several times. The whole experience was so great that I tipped him over 25% on the full amount. I?d recommend this place to anyone who likes to enjoy delicious food and professional service in a nice setting.
135 Christopher St
Chi Chiz is almost a throwback in this era of trendy and sooooo-cool hip Gay bars and restaurants. There's nothing manufactured about Chi Chiz, it's what it is -- an old-fashioned NYC saloon. A warmly welcoming place, Chi Chiz caters to Gay Men Of Color. Which doesn't mean that whites won't feel right at home, because we do. There is a delightful karaoke night, but it's not for laughs. There is some serious R&B talent parading itself. Food is fine, running to pub fare, and the drinks are rich and moderately priced. On Sunday, Happy Hour stretches from 2 pm to 9 pm. And the daytime weekend bartender is tall, dark ebony, and absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommended.
