4.Porter House Bar & Grill
10 Columbus Cir
Kind a normal place, if you wanna just eat some food nearby. I go to the Porter House last week and order some steak and bear. The food was quite a delicious, but nothing special. About the drinks i can say the same thing. Cost me all this within the norm, the price was not so high, in my opinion. And I did not like the lack of Wi-Fi, this is the most serious minus of your establishment

Went to Osteria Al Doge tonight to dine with a date and it fulfilled and surpassed all my expectations! It had been two years since I had last dined there and it is as great as I remember. Our first interaction was with the hostess, although we didn't have a reservation and walked in off the street she went out of her way to arrange a table for us with only a few minutes notice. After being seated our waitress approached, the immensely charming and constantly smiling Maria, who made us feel immediately comfortable and at home. When I asked for a wine suggestion she suggested a bottle that turned out to be superb! After ordering our mains we settled in to chat and enjoy the atmosphere. In my experience restaurants can be vibrant or can drain the life out of the evening depending on the staff and decor. Everywhere around us people were truly enjoying themselves, smiles abounded, conversations were lively, La Dolce Vita was certainly alive here!. Our courses arrived and each was delicately balanced, abounding in flavors that weren't weighed down with heavy oils or sauces, pure, simple, and obviously made with the best ingredients available. The whole time the staff was attentive to our needs neither rushing us (we were there for three hours), nor making us feel unattended at any time. This is certainly hard to find in New York where more often than not the waiters try to speed towards dropping the check and turning the table. We finished our dessert and said goodbye to the table next to us who we had shared a few laughs with. As we made for the door there was our waitress Maria, still smiling and exuding such a positevly wonderful energy that my date and I were helpless in resisting a big goofy smile that carried us out the door and down the block! I highly recommend this place for a date, dinner with friends, or a party I'm sure you will love it!

The vibe is very welcoming with its beautiful interior decorations and an open kitchen. The entire staff was extraordinarily professional. All were friendly and alluring. Our server was knowledgeable, articulate and enthusiastic. All eight of us had the ?Pre fixed? menu, it?s a four course meal where I can say was its money?s worth -- every course was superb. Even the birthday song was different & great. I can't wait to get back and do it all over again!!!\r \r They also have a lounge where we proceeded afterwards to relax, listened to music and enjoy the ambiance. I recommend SAZON to everyone, especially if you are in the tribeca area!!! \r

I was here on Saturday night with my boyfriend, and we were lucky enough to have Rob as our bartender. He is simply amazing. Our glasses were never empty and he was the most entertaining bartender I have ever met, and I go to a lot of bars. He somehow had the ability to keep every person at the bar entertained, and with a full glass in front of them at all times. He was making me, and the people around me laugh through out the night. I will definitly go back again on a Saturday night just to sit at his bar. Thanks Rob!

Having lived in Boston and been a seafood buyer, I am usually hesitant to order a lobster roll (or sandwich) unless a trusted source has recommended me to the restaurant. A lobster roll is simple in concept, but can easily go horribly wrong. The flavors are very well balanced, with large pieces of lobster meat. The french fries that come along with it are also fantastic, and if you like a good dirty, you absolutely must try their Hot and Dirty Martini - you won't be disappointed!

I love the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. I have eaten at their Times Square Location, Oralndo, FL location and their Hawaii location. I've loved every one. In the NY one we sat immediately and the waitress was attentive and interactive.l I had the bucket of boat trash. Loved it! I'm sure it's frozen seafood but it was very filling and very entertaining.

I found this place a couple of years ago. I've been to both the Manhattan and Williamsburg restaurants. Both have delicious food at a reasonable cost. I must admit, the Williamsburg location is larger, more grandiose and impressive (with a huge Buddha sitting at the end of a indoor pond), but you have to head over to Brooklyn (which ends up being only a short ride on the L train). Either way it is worth it. Its a nice place to take a date for a romantic dinner.. It's a must see!

City Lobster & Steak serve some really EXCELLENT steaks. You could probably predict that based on its name, but their steaks really are much better than some other more famous steak houses. Also, if you go, try to get Sandra to be your server. She's excellent, funny, knows everything about the menu, and cute as well. Enjoy!

I am a 26-year-old female from NYC (originally, not transplanted) and this is my all-time favorite bar and music venue. They have great original and cover bands from time to time as well as an eclectic crowd you rarely find in NYC anymore. As for keeping up with the Lower East Side dive bars, this bar was around before the LES was considered ""cool"" and before most of it's young patrons even knew what bars were so the comments made about it being a fake dive bar are ludicrous and only typical of those who chose to compartmentalize and label neighborhoods. It boasts an authentic group of people from all walks of life and neighborhoods - I travel all the way there from Washington Heights, and a bunch of my friends travel from downtown because it is unpretentious (the bartenders rock my world!) and you can start up a conversation about anything with almost anyone - not true of the pseudo-hipster/ self-righteous bars and crowds popping up all over our city. BE YOURSELF, MEET NEW PEOPLE, GO TO AMERICAN TRASH!

The food here is VERY underrated. It is relatively new to the scene but the seafood is great. If you're looking for jumbo lump crab cakes or lobster rolls this place will certainly hit the spot. 99 cent oysters during happy hour is also a great deal i heard about last time I was in there. Can't wait to go back

What a great experienece---this was our third time and each as comfortable and delicious as the next! The service from the owner welcoming us to the hostess greating and seating us was first class in an environment cozy and cool !!!! We were four and could enjoy our conversation while a mix of music soothed our souls and opened our palates. I had the most yummy branzino as an entre and a crab cake to start that I am craving again now! My husband and friends had an array of cod fish, short ribs and pasta with appetizers being a special fish soup and salads . The owner spent time at our table full of positive energy and enthusiasm while helping us choose two dynamite wines to match ! The service and rythym was terrific yet gave us just enough time to have a full experince. The environment is probably the most authentic I have seen in New York. One of the owners created either by hand painting and woodwork or hand picked from around the world each item giving the vibe a homelike yet classy feel! This lends to why we were comfortable once coming from a black tie and dressed and the next in casual attire . This restaraunt is for anyone in the neighborhood as a 2x a week regular fix as it's very reasonable as well as worth the travel to meet friends for a quality night with a bit of everything....and the long oak bar and high ceilings is perfect for a drink and oysters or whatever the mood ----Soleil Satisfies! LOVE THIS SPOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
22.Lexington Bar & Books

A bar of class and sophistication. I believe that class is when you have a standard, you draw the line and say, ""This is no longer tolerated."" To say Lexington Bar and Books is ""Old School"" is almost cliche; Lexington Bar and Books is the way it's supposed to be. In a time of diminishing standards, its are very high, to the point of ruffeling the feathers of those with weak spines, who surrender to the fashion of the day and lose themselves, just to be like (and liked by) everyone. When was the last time you went to a bar that had a dress code? In ""Old"" New York (late 19th century through the 1950's, mid-60's) men wouldn't be caught dead going out for a drink without a shirt and tie, a jacket, not wearing shoes. Here's a place that enforces the dress code at the door, as they take my coat. ""Civilized"" can best describe my experience. For those of us of a certain age, who looked up to James Bond (Sean Connery) as the role model, here's our place. Instead of paintings on the walls, bookshelves lined with books; the motif of the library of an English club, but a place where James Bond would want to have a martini, or Frank Sinatra would come for a nice Bourbon; and a cigar. What a selection! La Gloria Cubana, Hoya de Monterrey, H. Upmann, just to name a few. I find, with whatever cigar I smoke, the end's the best part; the flavor's more complex. (Even with the Upmann.) My test of a good bartender is his ability to make a Manhattan or Rob Roy. (my personal favorites) I'm never disappointed, here. For those ""Girly Men"" (If I may steal a term from His Honor, Arnold.) who complain about the price of cigars in this cigar bar, I say to you, ""You've never gone out? Why do you complain about the price of a cigar, but expect to pay $200-$300 for a bottle of nice Champagne?"" ""Stay home!"", I say to those who complain about having to check their coats. Lexington Bar and Books is for real men; for those of us who don't complain when we're treated like civilized human beings.

Only recently discovered the original Mermaid Inn downtown and was hoping to return to it soon. The opportunity to eat out at the last minute presented itself this past Friday, worked on the upper west side that day and was running late so my wife trekked uptown to meet me and we decided to waste more time before heading out of the city for the day in all the Friday night traffic. So we walked into the Inn and were greeted with a friendly staff and told it would be 15 minutes for inside and up to an hour for outside. We chose inside and waited at the bar. It was more like 30 minutes but we enjoyed the respite and the great bartender. Food was outrageously good, service was efficient a little rushed as the restaurant was obviously slammed, but always friendly and helpful. We never felt rushed and always got the right amount of attention when we needed it. Will try to arrivet earlier next time, as I've a feeling there'll be a few more summery Friday night visits waiting for traffic to subside!

Never have we felt more welcome in a NYC restaurant before. The owner Don greeted us at the door with a warm smile, and seated us for dinner upstairs. Not only was the Grilled Red Snapper to die for, but we also had Long Island Duck, Steak Au Poivre, and Chicken Madeira. This place has something for everyone. Every dish more tasty than the next. OH, save room for the desserts. I strongly recomend.....

We recently held a 3 generation family reunion at Chatham Square Restaurant on Saturday April 9th. I can't praise the restaurant , staff and food too highly.\r \r Our host Alex made us welcome, decorated the private dining area downstairs, set tables beautifully with complimentary soft drinks (sodas and tea). \r \r We were assigned our own waitstaff and Pang the head waiter directed the servers to keep the Dim Sum coming to all our tables, he even took our group picture with all 7 cameras! \r We had about 40 people who had a wonderful time, thanks to the restaurant and staff. \r I was amazed that the cost averaged out to no more than $15.00 per person. The dim sum was delicious , served hot right from the kitchen, with a wide selection of dishes.\r \r We lingered for 4 hours, and were given freedom to stay and chat as long as we wished.\r The out of town cousins then broke up and toured Chinatown.\r Call and speak with Alex, he will be most cooperative welcoming and helpful.\r \r

I checked out few reviews here and there and decided to take my date there last Friday. It was beyond my expectations and we end up having a really nice date which was complimented by the romantic ambiance, great service, and the freshest seafood I've had in years. Two people wine and dine like kings & queens cost $75. We loved it so much..., hope this place is around in the next 10 or 20 years so that maybe we can go back there for our anniversary, given that we last that long. :) Highly recommend this place!

I've gone to Max Fish occasionally - but regularly - for about 10 years. It hasn't changed - even most of the bartenders are the same. Great, friendly place - most of the people I became friends with in NY I met here. No attitude from the staff. Only drawback is that it gets SO crowded sometimes - and smoky - especially on weekends - but who goes out on weekends? And as for the brightness - I think it's good to see who you're talking to. There will be no cases of strobelight honies!
