I saw the reviews and had to comment.
Obviously this isn't Nobu, but the sushi is good and the prices are great. The service is less than slow- in fact in can be pushy- you just need to order things after you eat each course! (Unless you're in a hurry!) I think that's a cultural thing. Barely ever do I have a sushi dining experience that is slow and relaxed, as a mellow pace.
Anyway, good food, fulfills the desire.
I live in the neighborhood and often order take out from Miyako. Last Monday, I decided to eat at the restaurant and was very disappointed with the service. When 2 of my 3 rolls didn't come, the waitress told me to reorder in a very snappy tone. Our dinner lasted close to two hours because of very slow service and even when we got our water filled, the waitress barely acknowledged us. Finally, as we were leaving, she hissed that 15% tip is not enough...and we were being generous for the service we received.
I am sad to say that a place with good sushi has such bad service and I hope the management will do something about it.
I will never go back to this place. The entire staff was incredibly rude and the food wasn't very good either. It took over an hour to get my order of 3 rolls. The rolls were very small and not very meaty. I'm not a sushi snob and am easygoing when it comes to sub-par service and average food, but this place pushed my patience to the limit and was a bad dining experience. Avoid this place!
if you can't tell the difference between fresh fish and doctored - just don't go here. there are lots of bad practices that sushi places employ to make bad quality seem passable. this place is one of them. beyond that it's dirty - the kind people don't immediately note before sitting down. your best early indicator is the smell from the street. this place smells of fish that's not fresh.
citysearch must be paid to give such a high rating for such a fraud.
I just had to give a shout out to my favorite sushi delivery place in the area. Not only does Miyako have the best specialty rolls that I can find (I love the ones wrapped in just cucumber!) but with every delivery they include a little tasty something extra for free! (and sometimes more than one thing...) How can anyone pass that up? Everything they offer from salads, dumplings, sashimi, and rolls that I have tried is consistently good and the service is very prompt. I have never eaten there, but I would highly recommend them anytime for delivery!
