  • They ruined my new leather boots

    This place used to be good but something had changed.
    It's really bad now and if you love your shoes, don't go there, especially if you have expensive shoes (if it's an expensive brand and they are new, they might disappear forever).

    They ruin shoes, they loose shoes, they forget to do all what you've asked for and they are often late, so that you have to come back.

    Two of my friends already told me bad stories happened the last month in this shoe repair: they lost the high heels of my friend. And my other friend brought a cockroach in her boots back into her apartment.

    Here is my story. I gave them my new boots. I needed just soles and when I came to pick them up I saw a huge black spot on one of the boots which wasn't there before. As my boots have the color cognac it really jumped into you eye. The service person acted surprised but then said he will take care of it and that I should come the next day. No apologies, but I was used to the bad behavior of them already. Most important for me was that they get the job done.

    Next day I was shocked when I picked them up. He colored my boots to cover the spot. They were not cognac anymore but dark brown. Even worse: the leather is dry and cracked everywhere. Again, no explanation or apology. Now I have boots half light and half dark brown. They look shabby and like 10 years old (I've just bought them).

    I told my co-workers (we work around the corner) and other friends about it and it turned out that most of them don't go anymore because the service and attitude is really bad. Sure, you can be lucky and they fix your shoe...I went there the last 12 months... but now that they have ruined my boots I will look for a better shoe repair.

  • Its nothing we can do now"" - answer from service person

    I brought my shoes yesterday to fix the heel and today i realise that my shoe heels are broken and the answer I got from service person - "" It is nothing we can do to fix it"" disappointed.
    On top of this, they couldn't find my shoes when I came to picked up and i was standing for 15 minutes waiting for them to locate them.

  • The Worst dirty people

    They did horrible repair job on a pair of sandles, they lost and expensive pair of Prada shoes and will not replace them nor give any $$$ toward them and they are rude and dirty people....their shop is a mess more like a disaster no wonder they can't find anything. Let the buyer beware is all i can say...they should be put out of business...

  • Terrible

    If you take in a pair of shoes that just need the heel tap replaced, they're fine. Anything more and the workmanship is just lousy. Sloppy, visible glue, shoes returned dirty and dusty; New soles that come unattached on the first wear. . . I could go on. On top of this, they often can't find your shoes and you stand there waiting for 15 minutes for them to locate them. I suspect they're finishing the work on them. I always think ""they can't possibly be so bad"" and return, only to relive the horror. After 3 years. . . and a ruined pair of Prada boots. . . enough is enough! Forget convenient location, I'd rather have repaired shoes I'm not embarassed to wear.

    Worst of all is that when you voice you dissatisfaction (politely, I would add) you're met with eye rolls and shoulder shrugs. I'm sure they're great for the high-end retailers and brands who recommend them, but for the single customer looking for more than a shoe-shine they are the WORST.

  • Absolutely horrible

    These guys are either completely incompetent or they blatantly rip people off. The worst service! Had to take my shoes back 3 times to fix basics like getting them stretched and place a new heel on the shoe. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND WOULD ADVISE CAUTION IN USING JIM'S SHOE REPAIR.

    even after repairing, feeling really pain bottom of my feet... when they started, they were so rude no asking detail information.. so disappointed.

  • Worst service ever

    Worse service than you could imagine. When I went in to pick up my shoes at the due date, 3 weeks after I had dropped them off, they had not even been started. They promised to do them that day and call when they were done. They did not. When I called back two weeks later, only two of the three pairs were ready and rather than being apologetic they were incredibly rude to me. I will never go back there and strongly recommend you stay away.

  • Jim's Shoe Doctor for Feet

    I have been a loyal customer of Jim's for over 13 Years, I can't say I've ever been dissapointed or not completely satisfied. Price wise (You get what you pay for)!! They are worth every penny period.. I would highly recommend them to everyone who appreciates quality work. It has been said they give the best shoe shine in town. And I must agree (no rush job ever, quality service) The fact they have been in business since 1932 on 59th street speaks for itself. That should be a clear indication their doing something right.   • Great, fast, friendly service

    I brought in a brand new shoe that had the leather in the heel scraped off after my second time wearing them in the terrible streets of NYC. They took it to the back and in less than 10 minutes they came back out with my shoe looking brand new! They were super fast, really friendly and you can't tell at all that my shoe had had a terrible accident! I strongly recommend them!!

  • great service. great price.

    just had a pair of my vintage cowboy boots resoled and shaped up. This place is fantastic! The boots look brand new (well as ""brand new"" as vintage stuff can look) and the quality of the work is spot on.
