This place is just what the neighborhood needed! Since Vareli opened, my husband and I have visited about once a week.. usually Friday nights for the awesome sangria special - $12 for a caraffe of super yummy white wine sangria with chunks of stawberries and mango. The atmosphere is cool as well - looks like the inside of a wine barrel, if that makes any sense.. like a Mediterranean wine bar, mix between rustic and cool.. The dips appetizer comes with great bread that we love! The lamb burger is very good. Didn't love the veg sandwich, and they could use a few more menu items, as you can exhaust the list pretty quickly once you visit a few times. However, most dishes we've tried have been very good so far. The service has also been great - the servers we've had in the past seem to remember us and make a point to welcome us back, even if they're not our server for that meal.. Attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, but not rushed at all. Love this place!

This place is AMAZING. It's deceptive, especially b/c it's never busy, but the food is, in 3 words... off the hook. The owner and staff are so friendly, and even though they don't speak english all that well, they make EVERY effort to make your mean enjoyable. The lamb iskandar kebab is just as good, if not better than anything you can actually get in Turkey. Fresh meat, prepared to perfection, and served with freshly made bread as well. My favorite ny restaurant.

I live just two blocks from MARMARA and thought i would try it with a friend... WHAT A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT.... I ordered baby okra in tomato sauce with rice. LITERALLY the rice looked like it was three tablespoons... THe okra had a metal taste and the tomato sauce was vile.... Ok.. So the waiter made a face when i asked him to bring me something else... I ordered Calamari and it was salty and they served it with tartar sauce. I also tried the hummus and the portion was for a 5 year old.. The zucchini pancakes were oily and NO TASTE. THey should really fire the chef and get someone new. The service was also bad... Save your money and go to NIcks on Second Avenue!!!

A perfect place to celebrate my Birthday Party. I was looking for a place to host my 30th Birthday and I came across La Zarza Lounge. I called to check availability and found they also have nightly specials for large parties. What an awesome time! Private Room made available for us. We had such a great time, my friend has already booked her Birthday Party there as well. Perfect Place to Celebrate or enjoy the Weekend. Ask for Mario...He is the best!!!

I recently attended a birthday party at Thalassa in the Wine Room. It was one of the best dining experiences of my life. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable and the atomsphere was absolutely charming. I know where I will be spending my birthday this year!!!

My fiancee and I have been coming here for a few years now - he got me hooked on the seafood paella and the roasted potatoes with garlic and paprika. We've tried most of their tapas on the menu - and definitely have our favorites now.\r \r To me, the night isn't complete until I've had their bacon wrapped shrimp and a glass of their Sangria (it's divine).\r \r We come here once a month, it's our favorite place for an intimate date night and the charming atmosphere and great service definitely keep us coming back for more. Never had a bad experience here, and will keep coming back for more.

I don't even know where to start... everything at Alta is wonderful! I don't even like brussel sprouts and tried them - they are amazing! The white wine sangria is out of this world! The beef short ribs are amazing, and so is their special dessert. They will do their best to get you in, but its best to make reservations or get there early... Since I first tried it I have been back weekly / monthly... It's a must eat!

This place is lovely, open patio to the street, but not jutting out onto the sidewalk so it's peaceful and comfortable. The chicken briwats are amazing, loved both the lamb and chicken tangines and have a list of several items I want to try next time. Portions are perfectly sized and the prices are right. Definitely will return.

being married to a guy from Athens, we have a high bar for good Greek food. Pylos is the only place we consistently recommend- and dine - when it comes to this category. In fact it is few and far between we have friends come in from out of town that we don't take them here! Pylos does a great job of having our favorite taverna dishes and others that take an interesting play on traditional ingredients. after years of going here it's now become hard to get a table - even speaking greek - so call ahead! it's worth it

I'm a regular here... I love all the foods but I rarely step away from my usual order - mussels for appetizers and the grilled porkchop for entree. I can't get over how they cook the porkchop. I'm not a great cook but I can never get it evenly cooked and keep it all tender and moist. And I love onions and vinegar so there's not a better dish then this one for me. I would recommend reservations as this is a very small place and is a neighborhood favorite. The last time I was there I saw 3 of my neighbors (different ones!) eating a meal. I love this place.

Molyvos is something you wouldn't expect from the outside. The outside has a big banner that reads MOLYVOS and doesn't prepare you for the fine dining area that is inside the doors. The dining area is a little crowded but the atmosphere is great. Family, business, pleasure, romantic they can cover all those areas. They have a great wine list. Ask the waiter what they recommend with whatever you are planning to order. I recommend the octopodi as a appetizer. Tender octopus with a herb sauce was amazing to the taste buds. and the Hummus white bean hummus was also very delicious i wanted seconds. For the entree i had lamb. forgot what it was called but tender lamb chops was amazing. I dont think i like greek desserts that much. a little to sweet for me, but taste was great. I just couldn't have more than 2 bites. The whole meal was great from start to finish. the wait staff was very accommodating. I would go again when i have the chance.

Pao means bread in Portuguese. The food is a bit "americanized" but still good. The music should enhance the ambience, that is, of making you feel you are tasting a bit of Portugal. They should play fado for those who are not familiar with it. You should not go to a Portuguese restaurant to hear Mariah Carey! Let me get back to the food. Bacalhau is very good as is the caldo verde. Go!

If you have not tried this type of authentic hummus as a meal, you have not lived... Hummus made fresh and served warm, with a hard boilded egg, and different sauces on top. On the side get the Israeli Salad, and it comes with pickles olives too. They have whole wheat pita which is really nice. I go there every time i am in NY on a trip. The only other place that has similar hummus is taboon (see my review on that) but that is a much fancier and more expensive place. This is easy, quick, and the closest thing to fast food. The total check is like $15 per person!

I love Nanoosh - delicious, fresh food. But I usually get deliver or pick-up. Well, yesterday we went and sat at a table. I looked over at one point and there was a purple light on the wall that I couldn't figure out what it was for...so I asked the waitress. Her reply...""it's to kill the flies"". Um...is that really something I want to see when I'm eating INSIDE a restaurant?!? I just thought it was odd that it was there...odd that she said it so casually...and odd that it was right next to the kitchen where they were plating our food. But the food was good!

First of all managed by a great guy, Tony, from Lazio. It gurantees great quality, personal touch, great food and great atmosphere, you feel at home, well...actually you feel like you are in Italy, eating better than in Italy.\r The past is hand made and gorgeous, the pomodor sauce hand made by Tony's mother with best tomatoes and fresh basil is the best I ever had. The liguine a la vongoli, the raviole, the veal picatta, I tasted them in my several visits and the taste is like a dream. And the wine is typical Italian with a great choice. \r And price? The food and the wine is priced in a way you will come back becasue they don't rob you.\r Finally, the personal hospitality by the owner and manager, Tony, makes you have an unforgettable time. The food and the wine are only part of the good time. The overall experience makes you come back and recommend to your friends.

I had a superdelicous 2-Course Lunch For Only $12! The servants are so nice and their service was great! I LOVED the food!! I chose Acqua only to spend my coupon from TangoTab but now even without these coupons I will go there everytime I crave for Italian food!

The food is traditional Italian like you would get at an Italian Grandma's house. Nothing over the top, just great tasting food, generous portions at a great price for NYC! \r We were in Chinatown but my son doesn't eat Chinese food so we stumbled upon Forlinis. Boy were we glad we did.\r Everyone was so nice and accommodating and you felt like you were part of their family. I had the linguine with seafood, my husband had osso bucco and my son had baked ziti. All wonderful.\r Thank you Forlinis!!

I've visited this restaurant every time I've been to NYC and it's never disappointed. It's completely reasonable in price, with incredible food. The pizza is thin crust heaven, out of this world NYC pizza!
