First things first No matter what anyone says I am not paid to review this company. I used this company on 1/26/2015 to move my STUDIO apartment 25 miles accross Long Island with NO TOLLS. The quote I received was $375, which for such a small move made sense. There were good aspects to this move and bad aspects, so please read before using them.1. Before agreeing to work with them, I asked if the crew came from Jersey which is where they are located, or Long Island, which is where I lived. The salesman told me they come from Long Island, which was a lie because the driver came from Jersey and charged me tolls for his travel. The tolls were INFLATED beyond belief to $68. I know that's not how much it costs, but they wouldn't budge.2. They quoted me at $375, which never mentioned all these small little fees I would have to pay. So YES there are HIDDEN charges.3. The movers were scheduled for 8am, arrived at 10am. No one ever called me, I had to call them twice before getting an answer as to where they were.4. Once they came, I must say the crew was VERY nice and handled our furniture, boxes etc. with care. The crew chief kept saying there was no extra charge for blankets and that he'd tell me when there would be an extra charge. Of course they didnt tell me. They wrapped my furniture and hit me with a $91 material charge for wrapping it. Obviously another INFLATED number.5. Once we left my storage unit to drive to my new apartment, they went to get coffee. I made it from the unit to my new apartment in 35 minutes. It took them (2) hours which I was billed for. Another way for them to inflate the charge. The driver kept mentioning accidents which was ridiculous because I had just made the trip myself. All in all, this is a SAD way to do business. If this company was honest and upfront they would be an awesome company. Their crew was extremely nice, but they lie to you all the time about the most ridiculous things. As if I don't know how much it really costs to buy a roll of wrap and some tape/boxes. Or as if I don't know how much it costs in tolls to get from Jersey to New York.My advice. Whatever they quote you at DOUBLE the quote and that's what you will probably pay. They handle your furniture with care and are nice and put things where you want them.Use at your own risk.

Five Stars With a Bullet! After ten years, it was time to move from our first digs to our new home in another part of the world. We started looking for movers the first Friday of January for a move that was planned for the final week of February. In between seeking quotes and actually moving, our date changed to be two weeks earlier and then back a week later (but still one week before the original moving date) and each time, we reached out to Prisma Cargo Solution and their response? "No problem."When I had narrowed it down to them and one other outfit, they took the time to address my concerns over the phone and answer every question I could think to ask. Further, they were always available via email and prompt in their replies. They were gracious, charming and understanding. No one likes moving and though I was eager to pay someone else to do it for us, I was not excited to pay. They did as much as was possible to allay my concerns. They have their own crews and their own trucks. This is not an outfit that simply handles the scheduling parts of logistics and then moves on, outsourcing the labor and liability to subcontractors. Their guys are GREAT. What's more, they did not just hustle, they had a whistle-why-we-work attitude. Prior to last week, I had never met anyone who greeted moving with anything but disdain. Prisma Cargo were great and showed me I was wrong - there are people who can enjoy the move. They asked our input at every step of the move. They took terrific care of our things. Not a single thing was scratched, miffed, broken, dinged, etc.For anyone still reading this review, I would say that although their prices were a touch higher than some of the other companies we called, the price was all-inclusive. That's ALL we paid. They didn't ding us for tape, mats, crates, carts, fuel surcharge, or anything else. They carefully protected everything else that wasn't boxed or couldn't be boxed and moved it without fuss or delay. When we booked, they were only accepting checks and cash, but by move day, they had started using Square, so paying with plastic was easy too.I cannot recommend Prisma Cargo Solution highly enough. Prisma Cargo is the only outfit I will be recommending. They are just damned good and you will be totally satisfied with their engagement.

New York Movers 10003
Hands down I had a great exper...Hands down I had a great experience with NY Movers 10003 . I was able to schedule a Saturday move with less than 1 week's notice, and even piggy back off of another friend moving on the same day from BK to Manhattan to save everyone time. Price/Quotes: They offered me flat rate which I strongly preferred. Their price comparable to other companies that only offered hourly rates (based up on expected moving time) and very reasonable, but instead of a 3-man crew I got 4 men! 4 moving ninjas. I found the online quote form great to really help you understand how much stuff you REALLY have. I moved from a 3rd floor walk up to a 5th floor walk up. Mover's nightmare, but these moving ninjas took it in stride and were great. They came 1.5 hours early! Luckily I was ready to get moving, but if I wasn't they seemed like it would have been no big deal to wait until my official starting time. My entire 1 bedroom apartment was loaded up and in the truck in just over an hour. How the hell did they do that? I spent hours of the last week just packing! They wrapped up my furniture and were careful with all my belongings. Not at any point did I feel uncomfortable with how they were treating my stuff. Upon move-in, they tackled 4 flights of stairs with a great attitude and were still able to crack some jokes. Even though I offered food, etc., they only accepted some water and Gatorade throughout the day. I'd highly recommend NY Movers 10003 for anyone moving. Screw paying friends with pizza and beer - it's so worth the cost, and instead of taking a long day to move, it's done in an afternoon. We sincerely want to thanks this incredible Moving company - Thank you very much New York Movers 10003 .

I did many phone calls and sent massive emails to a lot of companies around 2 states as I was living in NY and needed to move all the way to Africa for a project. When I was finally talking to the movers that I actually chose to be my first option, I received an email from a company located in New York, their name was Prisma Cargo Solutions, after two minutes reading the email that was fresh in my inbox, suddenly I received a call from Prisma asking if I received the email. They were courteous and very professional when taking all my information and giving me quotes. As it was just one bedroom apartment and I did not have too many things the estimate was low and perfect for me, I told them to let me know where to sign. After 24 hours my items were picked up in Bronx, New York and delivered to storage unit, the company granted me that my items will arrive to Ivory Cost in 24 to 26 days from pick up. The Company kept their word, I arrived to my new apartment in Ivory Coast two 2 weeks later and was preparing everything for the arrival of my items, plus customs were already informed by Prisma and also the mover that was going to deliver my goods. After 10 days on the 25th day, I got a phone call from Prisma asking if the mover contacted me already and I told them that I was waiting to hear from them during that day, they told me to call the movers and ask for Kungal, the manager and speak to him. I gladly called the movers and spoke to Kungal, he was very polite and confirmed that my items were just released from customs and that he will be delivering my goods in the next 24 hours.Prisma kept their word, Kungal also did, what else could I say, Just an amazing experience with a reliable mover.

Before I moved to South Africa, I asked the help of my friends. I made a list of resources I had available. I told my family and close friends if they knew of any reliable moving company: they suggested Prisma Cargo.I was not sent by my company, so I did not have their support, this is why it was more important to me than anybody else to find a good company to help me. For this reason I made arrangements in advance so I could find out if I needed extra assistance. My wife comes from South Africa, so it was easy for her to relocate, but for me…the entire transition was very scary.. I need new friends in order for this to be successful, needed to adapt, find all the new stores, products, college for the kids. She was going to work and I would stay home, this idea was very difficult. Most importantly, I had Prisma Cargo organizing my relocation. They were there to give me advice every time a problem would arise. The internet should not be seen as a replacement for real human contact, and that is why I really appreciated when we met with Prisma employees. They came to our house, made an assessement, gave us a price and stick to it. Later on they were always helpful to exchange emails and available online all the time. I was always afraid to communicate my fears, but I soon realized that I was not the only one, and that moving is always a stressful experience. By now we have received all our belongings and we are happy to relax in our new home. All this was possible with the help of Prisma Cargo. I appreciate it a lot. Austin

I had organized and confirmed a move within midtown Manhattan for my boss with Jet Moving Systems over a month in advance. They contacted me through a post I had made through Billy.com asking for quotes. The Sunday evening, before the move on Monday morning, I was contacted as promised to confirm the arrival time at 5.10pm. I was then called again an hour later at 6.15pm to tell me they could not make it after all as their truck was broken down due to a snow storm 2 nights before. They did try to reschedule for the following Tuesday but this was not an option.I would not recommend this moving company as I had to spend 3 hours on a Sunday evening trying to find another moving company on such short notice for the following morning....nightmare situation....Oh, and they never replied to my email or called to follow up and apologize. The happy ending: Petros at Move -It 4 Less was able to confirm and accomodate my move that evening and had arranged for the movers to arrive first thing on Monday morning. He was in touch with me every step of the way and provided the necessary insurance papers to the management buildings before they arrived. Not only did I save $350 with this Move-It 4 Less, but they also did the move in less time than had been estimated with Jet Moving.I notice their previous reviews are less than complimentary, but in this instance they were amazing.

I needed a shipping company to relocate my son from Long Island to France without a lot of notice. I e-mailed Prisma Cargo to inquire about their services and how much notice they needed. Ken Chen called me very quickly and explained their services, costs, and time frame. I had used moving companies before and their costs were very reasonable so I contracted with them to move my son. The contracts were e-mailed to me and the costs were clearly stated. Before the day of the move I was contacted to see if the move date was still the same and to recheck contact numbers. The day of the move, I received a call telling me when the movers would arrive and they were right on time. The three men were very friendly, professional, and neat. While the contracts were being filled out and explained again by the foreman the other two men went right to work. They were very efficient and treated my son's furniture as if it was their own. In no time at all they were packed up. On the way it started to rain. When he arrived to France the men unloaded the truck and worked to keep the furniture and boxes intact ed. Before he knew it they were done! We have never had such a stress-free experience while moving. I would definitely use them again if I need to move and would definitely recommend them if you need shipping.

Overall, we were very satisfied with our shipment. This was our first time to hire movers. The day of our scheduled shipping it was raining buckets of rain that morning. The owner called to let me know that traffic issues due to the rain had delayed the truck by 30 minutes. Perfect, I appreciate knowing about the delay rather than wondering for half an hour where they were. When they arrived, the three guys introduced themselves and looked over what we had, asked a few questions to determine which things to load on the truck first, then went to work. They were careful not to get mud on our carpets. They wrapped furniture carefully and used moving straps to secure each item in the truck. I was impressed. It did take a bit longer than I expected because of the wrapping of furniture. We also shipped a storage unit at the same time, so it was a long day. My only complaint was that they should disclose that the company only has two trucks (at the time of our move), the one we got was maybe 14' long and I was expecting larger based on my original conversation with the owner. It took two trips to move all our stuff plus the storage unit. But then they explained that it will be put in the shipping container later on.They were professional and friendly, making the day a lot less stressful.

I needed to move to Germany to find my roots, this was my first time going and as my grandparents wanted me to stay with them, I just had a bedroom set, my Video Games and my nice TV, it was going to be a small move. As I wanted to trust a reliable company and besides the fact that I was doing this on my own, I decided to do an extensive research before going to any non-reputable mover. After researching as much as we could, Prisma Cargo Solutions changed my mind positively and immediately I contacted them to prepare the quote, they treated me so professionally that I did not think twice when signing the contract and completing payment, they quoted me for such price that I could not regret this great opportunity. They arrive to my apartment in New York, they wrapped and packed everything up very fast. My grandparents were already informed that the shipment was on the way, after 2 weeks there was no problem at all the shipment arrive to Germany after crossing all the European Nations. My Grand Parents sent an email to me telling me that all my belongings were in perfect shape and the movers in Germany placed everything in my new bedroom. Thanks Prisma, I appreciated your service and great attention.

These guys do a top notch job. We called them about 3 weeks in advance, booking was really easy. They called the day before to confirm they were coming, and they even called the day of to let us know they could come earlier if we wanted. They let us know a time window that they would be arriving and George, Max, and Alex showed up right at the beginning of that window. I was worried initially because we weren't as ready as I'd hoped we would be, and we had a total of 6 people (not counting the movers) helping us move stuff at the same time. I was impressed with how well these guys were able to manage moving everything while dealing with lots of people in and out, back and forth. They moved much quicker than I thought they would and they took care of everything. We had some huge furniture, most of it still full of clothes and stuff. Normally watching other people move all my stuff around would really stress me out. These guys took care to wrap things when necessary, and they moved slowly through tight spaces. I didn't see them drop or bang a single thing. Everything was very professional and very fast. I'd recommend Prisma cargo Solution to anyone who wants to make their move much much easier.
Tips & Advices
Yes, it’s best to empty drawers, wardrobes and chests before a move. Items always get knocked around a bit, and doors can fly open even if they’ve been taped. In fact, more often than not, movers will want to remove the drawers from a dresser--or disassemble the wardrobe to be more space-efficient.
Yes, it is customary to tip movers, but the amount varies widely. For full-service moves, a 5 percent tip is suggested, although, for extra service, some people go up to 10 percent . For small local movers, you can give each mover $10 for a few-hour job, or $20-$40 for jobs that take longer.
A bill of lading is the legal contract for the move. It provides a detailed receipt, in addition to a contract between the client and the mover. It authorizes the mover to transport the goods from one specific point to another, and it outlines the exact scope of services, with cost breakdown for those services. It also provides an itemized list of the inventory, and carrier liability protection for each declared item. Finally, it specifies the payment arrangement. Make sure to go over your itemized list extremely carefully before finalizing the paperwork--and get a copy of the full document. A good mover will go over everything on the bill of lading with the customer.
There are several items that moving companies will not move – those items will be listed on a document as “non-allowables.” These items typically fall in three categories: perishables, sentimental/personal items, and hazardous material. Perishables are food and plants. Sentimental/personal value is up to the client to decide, but usually includes jewelry, medical and dental records, personal paperwork, valuables and collectibles. Hazardous material is the tricky category, since it includes a lot of everyday items found in the garage, garden or kitchen. For example, cleaning liquids and pesticides both are considered non-allowable by many companies. Some go so far as to disallow nail polish and batteries.
A binding estimate means that the moving company cannot charge more than the stated amount, though they can lower the final bill if the scope of the job was smaller than expected. A non-binding moving estimate is more likely to wind up costing more than expected, since the movers can increase their rates for unforeseen variables like stairs, “long carry” and materials.
