24 Hour Pet Store in New York, NY
1.Raising Rover Limited
1428 Lexington Ave
We purchased our Morki David here. Great place to deal with. They told us what to do at home, how to train, feed etc. We call them all the time with questions and they are always available. The store is so clean and pups are playful, have food and water all the time and so many toys. We highly recommend this place.
2.Trixie Peanut Inc
23 E 20th St
My dachshund loves all of her toys from Trixie and Peanut and I love seeing the new toys that they bring out. I am constantly checking New Arrivals. The Haute Diggity Dog toys are among my favorites, as they are always good for a laugh and they are durable. They also make wonderful gifts! A new favorite is the collection of Woven Toys and I have my eye on the Woven Candy Cane for the holidays. I have never been to the NYC store, but I LOVE the website.\r \r Trixie and Peanut is always the first place I look to for my little pup.
3.Le Petit Puppy
18 Christopher St
Le Petit Puppy is by far the best puppy store I've been in / experienced. The staff is very friendly and informative. I come in here very few weekends to visit the new pups in the store and to say Hello to Steve who is the best ever! When I finally buy a pup, It will be from Le Petit Puppy:)
4.Chelsea Kennel Club
213 7th Ave
Great place, friendly staff, will definitely be back.
770 Amsterdam Ave
Great selection. HArd to find a shop like this in nyc!
6.Pets On Lex
1109 Lexington Ave Frnt 1
This place seems to get a bad rap on some other sites because they sell puppies, but I do not have anything to complain about with this place. My wife and I bought a pomeranian from here about a year ago and she is the best dog we have ever owned. We live close to here and the employees are happy to see me and Betty when we come in to buy stuff. I have recommended some friends to buy dogs from them and they seem to be happy with their dogs also.
7.New York Dog Nanny
126 Lexington Ave
I have an 8-year-old Maltese who looks adorable but is unfriendly towards people. We've engaged many trainers before to no avail and I was resigned to the fact that she's an armpit piranha...However at the first session with Ryan, New York Dog Nanny's trainer, I learnt quickly how to control her aggressive behavior, and at the second session he showed me how to walk her in peace, without her pulling me and yapping at everything! I am truly amazed. And we've been enjoying our walks ever since, which means his techniques are lasting and effective. An old dog can learn new tricks!
235 E 9th St
This is not only the best pet store in the city, but most likely the best pet store in the country. To complain about not getting a litter pan when you were leaving town and should already have little pans or having to watch for expiration dates on your own... You must be kidding. We are all grown up and should take responsibility for what we buy. However, to condem a store like Whiskers where so must information, help, and care is given so freely and so compassionately is like trying to bump off the messenger. So many people agree with me when I say so what if we have to put up with a little quirk here and there... the benefits of this place far outway the minor bumps for all our pets sakes. and p.s. you don't have to like the owners - they have suffered, studied, and gone through the gates of hell so you don't have to!
9.Spoiled Brats Inc
340 W 49th St Frnt 1
I have been going to spoiled brats since they opened, i am treated like family and am always treated with the utmost kindness and fairness. I have rescued cats from the wonderful magical katherine who is my hero,\r I have never had problems returning merchandise. Everyone has gone out of their way to get me what i have needed. I will never go to another pet store as long as they are around.. I feel it necessary to support local merchants if we want to keep our neighborhood a neighborhood we can call home.\r I LOVE MY SPOILED BRATS!!!!!
10.Puppy Love & Kitty Kat Pet Svcs & Supplies Inc
420 E 9th St
great place, took good care of my dog <3,loved it!! :)
11.Aquarius Aquarium Services
214 Riverside Dr Apt 511
Larry at Aquarius installed ou first tank and has serviced it ever since, for at least 15 years. He is totally dependable. He works neatly and unobtrusively (we're in an office, so that's important to us). He responds promptly to calls for help. He cares about the fish and is sensitive to my concerns for them. His pricing is fair - and worth every penny. I wouldn't change servicer for all the world!!
434 Hudson St Frnt A
Visited a few Doggie Boutiques as a dog owner of 5! Found this place to be miles apart from anywhere else Ive beed, great products, good quality & great customer service... Defo worth a visit!!
13.Kit-N-Kaboodle, Inc. Just Cats
244 E 60th St
I bought my lovely white Persian angel cat from Just Cats when she was 4 months old. I named her Mimi. She is so special. She is intelligent, funny, compassionate and actually she runs my life. She is a joyful companion and I don't know how I ever lived without her. When I bought her, I was given everything I needed to take care of a cat along with the cat purchase. The best buy I ever made. Look at my pretty girl!!
14.The Barking Zoo
172 9th Ave
The guys who own the place have have a lot of expertise in nutrition; they manage to carry a big range of premium and specialty foods and are happy to help you with your pet's diet. Yes, they WILL discuss the state of your dog's digestion with you week after week while you search for the right food. \r \r They also have a great eye for selecting toys and accessories and more practical stuff like crates and gates and travel bags. The Barking Zoo is a real neighborhood business (a little rare in this town lately!) and they know all the local dog walkers and pet sitters and vets, so if you're looking for one, just drop by and ask them. The staff is friendly and helpful.
236 E 75th St
New owners. Please Visit. Free Same Day Delivery!!! We provide the best knowledge in pet food advice.
It is very important for me that the groomers know how to take care of my dogs properly. And so far, I have no problems with the people here.
17.Pacific Aquarium & Plant Inc
46 Delancey St Frnt 1
I regularly check out any and all of the Aquarium stores in my area of B'lyn and Manhattan. I can say without reservation that Pacific is one of if not THE best fish and aquatic plant store in the whole city. They do freshwater, marine and terrariums too. The staff is SUPER knowledgeable (look for Chi or Kevin for an education in fish and plant keeping) and very very friendly. Prices are reasonable, give or take, and they are willing to negotiate prices if you find an item cheaper elsewhere. Their main display tank (my usual barometer for a store's skill level) is a 180 gallon densely planted beauty with some very happy cherry barbs, rummy nosed tetras and Amano shrimp, etc. I know they're happy because the huge cherry barbs are such an intense red color and the rummys also have intensely red noses. And tell everyone that says Amano shrimp don't breed in captivity that they breed like crazy in this Utopian tank without any special effort other than their keeping the tank up so well. They regularly stock unusual species such as fresh water stingrays (even tea-cup s-rays), farlowela, neon blue angels direct from Singapore, look down fish (super cool and pricey marine fish), beautiful discus and lots more. It's a popular store that regularly sells out of their stock so check in often. THANKS Pacific (and Chi and Kevin and co.) for helping make tanks a spectacular conversation piece. Keep going!! I LOVE PACIFIC!!!!!
18.Furry Paws Inc

19.Beasty Feast Inc
680 Washington St
guys, this place ROCKS. you really feel like you just walked into a _neighborhood_ pet store. does not feel like some mega-store, but the place that knows you and knows your pet... the owner is great.
170 E 61st St Lbby 1
I love Edward's dog store and so do Lily and Beans, our two blond toy poodles. They both love going into his store for grooming, treats and hugs. When I pick them up, they are always super happy after their grooming. I recommend his grooming salon to everyone.
963 Amsterdam Ave
This pet shop is the place to be for pet lovers like me! They offer support for customers and wouldn't leave you hanging if you have concerns or questions.
22.Posh Paws Of Manhattan

Staffs are willing to help you to get what you need in a friendly manner. I think they have above average of selection in this area, you should able to pick up the common pet supplies.
24.Pet Health Store
440 Amsterdam Ave
When I adopted my first pet as an adult in 1979 Pet Health Store, then ""The Pet Bowl,"" was there for me. Pet Bowl wasn't like the pet stores of my Fifties youth with lots of animals. It was all about the food. \r \r The first Premium brand I bought there was Cornucopia's dry cat food. It came in a very nice *carton* about the size of a large Tropicana Orange Juice carton. Probably had two lbs of food and cost $3 or $4 dollars. Great stuff. They're still around if you look them up but time marched on.\r \r Pet Health Store today has many lines I buy frequently: Wysong, Innova, Canidae, Pet Guard, Evanger's. What these all have in common is that the manufacturers are trying to provide a meaty product that's convenient to feed. PHS has every kind of product you'd need to help a pet enjoy its food and thrive.\r \r That said, despite the ever improving level of customer service, the intelligent uptake of new lines and positive promotion of older lines (PHS' current promotion of both Evanger's and Wysong is an great example), the weekend after weekend of adoption events they've sponsored - the merchandising of the space leaves something to be desired. It's not really a fun place to shop.\r \r But one shops for the merchandise, and personally I'd like to see them pricing their merchandise throughout. Value is important, now more than ever. They are selling a luxury product you could argue is essential to the pets. Let's be out front about what it costs.
25.Aqua Star Pet Shop
44 Henry St
This is the place to go if you want to see unholy amounts of fish crammed into small tanks, putrid water, and their alluring dead fish collection. This has to be one of the worst looked after stores in the city, which is a shame since they sometimes have very nice fish swimming around in those dire conditions. A good place to scour for nice rescues, but quarantine anything you buy from this store with the utmost caution.
26.Manhattan Puppies and Kittens
552 Columbus Ave
Horrible never go here they never call you back to make a long story short I would give up no sorry but you have to give them one they sold me to fake sick cats that don't have paperwork I've been waiting almost a year for a phone call back and the paperwork from them ... this is one of those things where you should really consider the reviews before going
109 W 10th St
Beware of these people. I have a very sick cat with bowel incontinence recovering after two vet visits and found a solution would be a dog cage so I passed there as I live nearby. I was shown two cages. One that I was told was around 89 another 110...I said I want the larger one.I paid with a credit card. They insisted on delivering for free so who would argue that. I'm three blocks away. He said it would take an hour. Three hours later a guy showed up with the smaller cage and an extra ""gift"", some sort of small suede pad...Seeing it was the wrong item I refused the extra gift and asked he please get me the correct size cage I'd paid for...i tipped $5 already for all. He returned with a dog gate. When I said it was the wrong item...(it's now after 8 pm) he sat down in my condo hallway, ACTUALLY CROSSED HIS LEGS AND SANK TO THE CARPET IN THE HALLWAY AND LEANED AGAINST THE WALL, at first I thought he doesn't speak English, then I realized HE DID, after he kept insisting it was the right ""size"" (it was a 42"" dog gate when I'd bought a 42"" long cage), and I said please get me the right item, THE SAME ITEM AS BEFORE BUT IN 42"" IT'S A ""CAGE"" as my cat is stressed (she'd been locked in a bathroom overnight and I didn't want her going through another night like that) He said...""Oh do I have to do that now?"" He left INDICATING he would when I said ""it's 3 blocks away what's the problem?""...I waited until 10...he didn't show. By midnight I called my credit card company, told them the situation, they said the money had gone to pay them but I could dispute it when the bill shows up...I had them note it in their system. At 9 am I started calling. Nobody picked up. I called 3 more times. Nobody picked up. By 9:45 I walked over...the store had been open. The same individual who sold me this cage was there I said your guy delivered the wrong item twice when he expressed surprise I hadn't gotten the item. I accused him of attempting a bait and switch...he said ""Oh no no no it was the guy I wasn't here."" The item, as there was only one of each size, was still up on the high shelf, the 36"" cage they'd attempted to deliver on the floor where it had been brought back...so he was LYING.. the delivery guy had said they don't have a warehouse and there were only the two cages in the store, one of each size. The sales guy, again, said ""Oh I will bring it over,"" exactly what he said the day before. I asked a woman buying there to please wait as I wanted someone as a witness he'd admitted that he'd sold me the larger cage, which she did, and demanded he get it down for me to take in a cab OVER HIS PROTESTS. Halfway back I saw the item was marked ""$99.99"" right on the front of the box so not only had they attempted a bait and switch, he'd overcharged on that item, goodness knows about the others as I'd bought a ton of stuff and my bill had been over $200. I'm thinking ""how nice, they'd deliver free"" and he'd known he'd overcharged. I am holding onto the box with the price marked on it and will continue my dispute through Visa for the difference as I wouldn't dream of going into this place again because they are crooks. Beware. Don't EVER ask them to deliver to you...and look at the price on something before they ring it up. THEY ARE CROOKS. I fully intend to report the incident to the better business bureau because it should be on the record. Perhaps if I didn't have a sick old animal, who desperately didn't want to be locked up an additional night, risking her rehabiitation that could be horribly setback by stress that may well mean I'll have to have her cleaned out at the vet again for another couple of hundred, OR SHE COULD HAVE DIED just from the stress lasting another night, I wouldn't be posting this...but people running a shop catering to animals who maliciously did what they did in this situation shouldn't be running this sort of business as animals depend on us. DON'T buy
27 W 20th St
I contacted this company regarding an online coupon code that I had found with no expiration date that was not working. I was told ""oh thanks that is expired we will look into that"". So my thanks was really no thanks because not only did they not honor the coupon but when I called to discuss it with the owner who emailed me she told me to get my items somewhere else! Nice eh?
1570 1st Ave Frnt 1
Though on the surface The Pet Market seems like a lovely neighborhood pet store with a good selection of natural and high quality pet products, don't be fooled. I have ordered dog food from them about a dozen times and orders have been mis-delivered, not delivered, and finally a canceled order was delivered two days after I canceled it, then they didn't pick it back up until days later. The reason I have repeated the mistake of doing business with these people is that they are the only store in my neighborhood that carries the brand of dog food that I use. Well I am now prepared to drive to New Jersey if I have to so I never have to deal with them again. \r My last order was placed on a Sunday. About a half hour after taking the order over the phone they called back to say that they didn't have exactly what I wanted, I said that was fine and compromised on what they did have in stock. The next day the order hadn't arrived so I called and they couldn't even find the record of the order. I told them to cancel the order. The next day, Tuesday, I arrived home to find messages on my answering machine to please call them, and to my dismay, the order that I had canceled the previous day. I called them and was assured that the order would be picked up and I would be refunded. Thursday afternoon my doorman informed me that the order was still sitting there. I called again and was promised again it would be picked up. We'll see what happens this time.
