I had my wedding at The bourbon orleans and it was the BEST day of my life! I had tons of family that came in from out of town and they all stayed at the hotel. They went out of their way to help us around the clock. I stayed in the owner's town house before the wedding day and it was AMAZING! The wrap around balcony from Orleans to Bourbon Street made the night before my wedding spectacular! We had soo much fun. The door men from the bar across the street was even joining in on the fun! There was more than enough room for me and a few guests. We also stayed in the presidential suite which was also AMAZING! The bar downstairs was great to have drinks at before, up to, and after the wedding. It was a favorite for my male guests to watch the LSU basketball game throughout the reception. The only bad experience we had was the food at the restaurant. The food was not that great and the prices were too high. The server was not that professional or attentive. A bit of advice to those of you that will be leaving on Sunday morning.... carry your own luggage. We waited for a good 30 minutes for someone to show up to the room for the luggage. I ended up putting most of my things in my car while waiting for someone. Other than those few problems we had a great time.. great location... you are right there in the middle of the new orleans activities!
My husband and I and our 3 friends stayed at the Crescent Palms last Christmas. I can't speak highly enough of the place, especially the staff. Managers Kendall and John were amazingly sweet and helpful. They went out of their way to help us in many occasions - even when we were stranded without a rental car and no more reserved nights on new years eve, they found us a room and a car! The area gets a really bad rep, but we never felt unsafe, and its nice to be away from all the tourists and stay at a place with real character. We took the bus and the tram into town and never had a problem. The room was clean, warm in the chilly winter nights, showers worked perfectly, and there was always plenty of clean linen. The bar was cozy, and Kendall and John would come hang out with us on their break. Very very nice people. We missed them after we left! I will go back to New Orleans, and I will stay at the Palms again! I highly recommend the place: comfortable, great atmosphere, and affordable. By the other reviews that I see on this site, it looks like I'm not the only one who felt that way: when you are treated so well by such lovely people, it shows. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!Sara, Juan, Josafat, Ana & Vanessa
The rooms are small-ish for such a fancy rep, but that's very European, in keeping with the French Quarter. Went to a wedding here and although the waitstaff were really lagging on wine service (to the wedding tables) in the beginning, they redeemed themselves later. The food was great for wedding food -- filet cooked perfectly, and mashed potatoes with truffle gravy was the unanimous highlight. The Ritz has quite a nice little spa, gym and small resistance pool plus jacuzzi. Again small, but still very functional and nice. The place is like a maze though -- good luck remembering how to get back to the lobby or over to the Iberville without going outside. It can be done, but it takes practice. Best thing about the Ritz is the lounge. Perfect lighting and really nice seating areas to have a drink and people watch. It's like a big fancy living room with good drinks and everyone looks good because of the mood lighting.
Such a cute little spa! It's smaller than most hotel spas, but the staff are really pleasant and you can get full service massages, hair cuts, blowouts, nails etc. The only reason for 3 instead of 4 stars is they had me on hold from my hotel room for a really long time, so I had to give up and deal with my bobby pin emergency by myself. Best feature is the attached gym. There are quite a few machines for a hotel gym, plus a separate weight room and a pool /jacuzzi area. The pool is tiny, but it's perfect bathwater temp and has a resistance setting on half of it so you can swim laps. Walking against it is no big deal, but try swimming, it's a serious cardio workout. So nice to have that option instead of having to do the treadmill.
Absolutely an awesome place to stay. Jesse (the manager) is a fantastic host. Rooms are very clean and decorated in a way that brings out that old charm of New Orleans. Walking distance to some excellent restaurants, a fitness club, and some of the local bars/pubs. The New Orleans famous streetcar/trolly is easy to catch and only about a block away. You are in the "French Quarter" within 10 minutes. It was a great experience and I will stay there again.
I stayed at this resort hotel for a week during my vacation trip. The location was right in the downtown area and many major attractions were very close from this place. Kitchen was perfect with cooking utensils and the jet-stream Jacuzzi was inside the unit. Only problem was lack of parking lot. I had to park on the street with parking meters and paid parking lot next to the hotel building. I and my wife enjoyed staying at this resort hotel.
PoolFitness centerBusiness centerSelf service laundryFree wifiVery sweet and nice service.Clean rooms and very quiet. Nice room and great breakfast.Just be careful in town and don't expect great sightseeing. Only 12 minutes from French quarter and 20 minutes to Kenner with shopping and great food.Stayed here for 4 nights.
Not the poshest place I've ever stayed, but it's nice enough for an old and historic hotel. I like the location because it's within walking distance to the French Quarter but not right in the heart of the action. Don't forget to stop in for a drink at their Carousel Bar!
Beautiful historic in the business district close to French quarters. Hotel staff very pleasant. Rooftop pool loved it. Pbj and hot chocolate at ten every night in lobby. Rooms are nice sized beds comfortable. Will be back very soon.
A wonderful hotel bar with a New Orleans feel inside and out. Enjoy a drink under the oaks or inside in very quaintly decorated bar.Friday and Saturday night can get a little young and preppy with the students from Tulane and Loyola.
