I have two pit bulls that are brother and sister they are three years old. I need to find good homes for this dogs. My e-mail is angel.bonneval@yahoo.com They can not be around children or other animals.. I have cats, horses, and other dogs and I'm afraid they could hurt one of the other pets I have and it's best I find good homes for these two. I had rescued these two from pups and there real sweet but love to fight one another. As they get older I see they are getting more aggressive towards each other. I put them in separate kennels but still afraid they will get out.. Need to find homes for this two... Angel

Erin P Ribka DR
Dr. Erin Ripka has been my main veterinarian for many years now, taking care of all my pets. We have gone through the best and worst times in veterinarian medicine. When faced with difficult problems, Dr. Ripka has spent her own time researching possible treatments. And when the time comes she has helped me take my fur babies to the Rainbow Bridge in the kindest and gentlest manner. I recommend her to all my family, friends and clients.Sincerely,Ann BecnelAnn Becnel Companion Dogs, LLC

Allstar Animal Clinic
I just moved from Michigan and my cat was acting weird. So I came to yelp and typed in vets in Nola. All Star was the first vet to pop up, and God am I happy they were. Dr. Diggs and staff are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! They made it seem like my cat was their cat! And the vet itself was clean and in a wonderful location. I completely recommend this vet to anybody and everybody! Also Dr. Diggs personally calls you and updates you on your animal. :)

Scott Abadie and his staff are the most caring people you would ever want to meet. My family has been using Scott for almost 20 years and he is just like part of our family. He truely cares about the wellbeing of all involved, not just the animals but the people too. He treats all his patients as if they were his own children and has the best bedside manner you could ever ask for.

I first had my Patches (Beagle) bathed at Petcetera on Magazine St. The service was EXCEPTIONAL. They are the best. Now I have another rescued family member, Curly (Poodle mix) who was found and I answered an ad on "NextDoor".com. They did a wonderful job on his first visit and now I'm going back as a regular customer.

Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
