2.Bon Maison Guest House
835 Bourbon St
Bon Maison is quiet and a block down from the loudest and more crazy side of Bourbon Street, the owners are friendly and knowledgeable and will send you for the best food at the best rates. The cost is incredible for the location. The rooms are small, cool, and nicely decorated, pleasant, with kitchenette. The courtyard is beautiful to sit and have a break from the room and the streets. Short walk to the Mississippi and Cafe du Monde. This is not a luxury hotel, is gay and straight friendly and is a clean comfortable wonderful place to stay and I will go back and recommend it to anyone I heading to New Orleans.
4940 Chef Menteur Hwy
It's a very nice hotel to stay at and worth checking out. In regards to the pricing, I thought the rates are good.
4.Ascend Hotel Collection
500 Saint Charles Ave
There are great deals to be had at this nice hotel, which is undergoing renovations as of March 2012. The rooms and bathrooms are actually bigger than those in the fancier Hyatt Regency New Orleans, and the free wifi was MUCH better and less complicated to access than the sort-of-free-in-very-restricted-areas wifi at the Hyatt. The folks at the front desk were invariably kind and helpful, although I didn't have any real problems to deal with. The entire hotel is non-smoking, but one of the rooms I was in had a very faint odor, like some old men had been smoking cigars and arguing about monetary policy in there 50 years ago. I'm quite sensitive to smoke residue, but the odor didn't bother me at all once my nose adjusted to it. I'd gladly stay here again if I return to the Big Easy.

My husband and I visited NOLA to celebrate our first wedding anniversary this past weekend. Upon our late arrival, we were greeted by the Valet and Bell Boy and quickly checked in for our stay. There was a mix up with the room key which stalled our 'settling' for 30 minutes, but we were told that the woman that assigned us the keys was on medication from a dental operation. The room was lush but small - neither of us minded, since we would be tourist hopping and eating all day anyway. The view was great, and we were pleased that it was located far enough from Bourbon that you couldn't hear the crazy screaming drunkenness (though, Saturday was a bit louder than Friday). Room service was excellent and speedy. Information was readily available and the hotel was really clean. We didn't get to explore the upper deck pool area or dine at the Rib Room, but plan on staying here again - it's in the middle of everything and a really great value!

15.The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans
921 Canal St
I LOVE THIS HOTEL! Yes, it is expensive...but a treat. The layout is strange, but this is possibly due to the previous occupant (a department store). It didn't detract. Instead it made for some interesting exploring. This hotel is so comfortable and beautiful. If possible, try the spa. It is so, so nice.

My boyfriend and I stayed here on a recent visit to New Orleans. I was a bit unsure about it since I usually stay at the International House, but since they were booked, we gave Le Pavillon a try...Now, I don't think we will stay anywhere else when we visit! The hotel is 'old elegance' but not at all stuffy! There were weddings booked the entire weekend we stayed, but the staff did not seem strained or hurried. In fact, Mark, the Concierge, was more than willing to talk with us and make suggestions. The Doorman, Michael was awesome! Very efficient, outgoing and polite - he was one of the people that helped make our stay so wonderful! The rooftop pool was great and the rooms were more than comfortable. We will be staying here on our next visit, for sure!

19.Renaissance New Orleans Pere Marquette French Quarter Area Hotel
817 Common St
Lovely hotel close to Bourbon st. Stylish and comfortable. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Clean rooms and well maintained property.
828 Toulouse St
Wanting to get away from cookie-cutter chain hotels and experience an old-world style hotel in the French Quarter, we booked one of the pricier suites at Olivier House. When we first walked in, we were excited - our suite had a large living room and equally large bedroom, both with floor to ceiling windows leading out to a huge balcony. Then, we looked more closely. The molding on the doorways and around the windows was filthy - there was a layer of dust just as old as the hotel it was in. The bed swayed back and forth like a hammock and seemed ready to collapse at any moment. Wallpaper was peeling everywhere, and mold grew in many corners of the walls and ceiling. A peek under the bed revealed dust bunnies larger than my head. It was a weekend of might-have-beens. The hotel might have been glorious, but it was in desperate need of some cleaning and some TLC. All in all, it was hugely disappointing.

Gorgeous place - most convenient location. But do not expect to be helped to your room. Lackluster service notwithstanding, we will definitely stay there again - be sure and request room 208 - great view of the courtyard/pool!
22.Royal Sonesta Hotel
300 Bourbon St
FABULOUS! Arrived in NOLA the day before jazzfest started in 08. Was one of the best meals we have ever had in NOLA. I am surprised to see the negative reviews. We are going to NOLA again for fest this year. Definitely headed straight to Desire for a po' boy and muffaleta. Service was not the best but they were slammed.
23.Dauphine Orleans Hotel

Spotlessly clean, elegantly decorated, courteous and helpful staff, very nice ammenities, perfect location, not unreasonable price. We can't wait to go back!

I had my wedding at The bourbon orleans and it was the BEST day of my life! I had tons of family that came in from out of town and they all stayed at the hotel. They went out of their way to help us around the clock. I stayed in the owner's town house before the wedding day and it was AMAZING! The wrap around balcony from Orleans to Bourbon Street made the night before my wedding spectacular! We had soo much fun. The door men from the bar across the street was even joining in on the fun! There was more than enough room for me and a few guests. We also stayed in the presidential suite which was also AMAZING! The bar downstairs was great to have drinks at before, up to, and after the wedding. It was a favorite for my male guests to watch the LSU basketball game throughout the reception. The only bad experience we had was the food at the restaurant. The food was not that great and the prices were too high. The server was not that professional or attentive. A bit of advice to those of you that will be leaving on Sunday morning.... carry your own luggage. We waited for a good 30 minutes for someone to show up to the room for the luggage. I ended up putting most of my things in my car while waiting for someone. Other than those few problems we had a great time.. great location... you are right there in the middle of the new orleans activities!

I stayed here for 4 night and it was great. It is only a few blocks from Bourbon and everything else is in walking distance. It was clean and all of the staff was very friendly and helpful. On top of it there is a free breakfast in the morning from 6-10. Only downside was the neighbors kept slamming there door. A good stay that is close to everything. Not loud very good security measures.

We'd looked at several travel sites, reading reviews of many French Quarter hotels and worrying about our stay. Then we decided it was only one night, so we'd find the best for our needs (2 adults, 1 child). The staff at the hotel was very helpful, both over the phone and in person. The free valet parking and free continental breakfast were unusual AND appreciated. The courtyard was lovely. We were busy thinking of a return trip when Katrina hit. Hopefully the Chateau Hotel will again welcome guests!

I stayed here during the American Diabetes Conference and was impressed with how it looked. I have not been back to New Orleans since before Katrina and was worried how it might be down there. I was pleasantly suprised on how it looked and that the hotel was in great shape. They were a Holiday Inn last time was there, but that does not seem to have made a difference. I was so pleased to see some new faces there and the staff was awesome. I would stay there again and recommend it to my friends.
523 Gravier St
700 square foot rooms, DVD/CD, TV, down comforters, dual showerheads, all modern amenities. Very ""Soho"" styled lofts. The best part was the Customer Service. Ask for Peter, he'll set you up with roses, massages, the rose package all equating to a hell of a romantic weekend. Then stop by the bar and ask Maria for a Mojitto. Best Mojitto in the US. Time of your life, at least it was for us.
30.SpringHill Suites New Orleans Downtown

This place is an undiscovered gem. The location, right in the heart of the centrally-located Warehouse District, can't be beat by any hotel in New Orleans. The neighborhood around the hotel is urban mixed-residential: beautiful condos in renovated historic buildings with outstanding shops, restaurants, galleries and bars on the ground floors. You can walk to the Quarter, convention center, pretty much anywhere! An unbeatable bargain!
