Hot chicken is just chicken strips in greasy sauce. No flavor at all. The barbecue is dry and tasteless. Don't waste your time.

The tables could use a little work and you order at a front counter then sit down and wait for your food to be brought to you. No waitress. I would order beers if I didn't have to walk across the restaurant to get one. Other than that those are my only complaints. I ordered a full rack of ribs and 2 sides and they were spot on. Finally some ribs that had smoke on them. Mac and cheese was ok and the coleslaw was ok. I like a mayo coleslaw more than vinegar.

Best brisket I've had in a very long time. It was moist, flavorful, and not too fatty. The employees were super friendly and quick. Get there early to beat the lunch rush - like around 11:15. The sides were also good as was the sweet tea. It was almost as good as my grandma's, which is saying something. The only (small) negative was the music was a tiny bit too loud for my taste while eating lunch.

B & C Melrose BBQ
A work colleague introduced me to B & C, and I'm glad they did. Some local BBQ joints seem to be more about the music or the d├ęcor. B & C is all about the food. I got the smoked Salmon plate and I was great. The fried okra and sweet tea (almost as good as grandma's) were good too. Just remember that the salmon isn't available everyday, think only on Wed. and Fri. I got lucky by going on the right day. It's quick, casual, and not too pricy there.

There is rarely a wait at the Charlotte location if you are not there at peak lunch hour. A dark, cozy interior is filled with a prepared cafeteria style serving line, so you won't stand in line long for food except to watch the server carve or pull the meat fresh on a wooden board. The to-go family meal has become my new favorite thing to bring new mothers or anyone who needs a meal.

We have eaten here many times and love it, especially the smoked chicken. The food is always delicious, servers always friendly (even when someone I was dining with once was a bit of a grump), and wait times go by quickly. Highly recommend!

Wonderful BBQ. I've had their brisket at a couple of events that were catered by them. Great sides too!

Edley's Barbeque
A friend of mine suggested I eat at Edley's Barbeque and it was a great suggestion. I tried the banana pudding and pulled chicken sandwich and they were delicious. I also ate their collard greens and they were a little bit spicy for me. Next time I will get the mac and cheese.

Quick service, good BBQ, the brisket sandwich was good as well as the mac&cheese, baked beans. They have nice family-pack options.

Just a moment...
