Law Office of Bryan Stephenson
I recently hired Attorney Stephenson with less than 1 weeks notice for a Class C Misdemeanor "Failure to Report Immediately" citation. In the search for counsel, I spoke with at least 3 other lawyers, who's prices not only varied considerably, but so did their knowledge and willingness to communicate the law to me in an easy to understand manner. After speaking with Bryan initially, I decided right away that he would definitely be the best representation for my case due to his experience with similar cases, and his past experience as an Assistant District Attorney. My general impression of Attorney Stephenson was that of considerable character, of great business and legal ethics, and as a man who took great interest in my well being. As my court date approached, I corresponded multiple times with Bryan, where he kept me abreast to what he needed from me as well as provided me with everything I needed to be prepared for, while always keeping me at a peace of mind on the case. On the day of my booking/court date, I finally had the opportunity to meet him in person. All of my initial impressions held true, as Bryan showed up punctually as he said he would, gave me a brief on what was about to transpire, and asked if I had any questions. Several minutes afterwards, Bryan emerged from the court room and informed me that my case had been dismissed on the grounds that I pay for court costs. I was astonished at how quickly and efficiently he took care of the situation, and was obviously very ecstatic about the outcome. I feel very strongly that I would have done myself a great disservice by hiring anyone else in Nashville to represent me in this case. Bryan not only has gained my respect as superior Criminal Attorney, but also has gained my respect as a man of his word, and one of fine character. Many thanks Bryan, and I will definitely be encouraging anyone with a legal issue in Nashville to be contacting you to discuss their rights and options.

I was arrested and charged with DUI, first offense and violation of Implied Consent law as a result of sitting in my parked vehicle while charging my phone while legally intoxicated. I was very nervous of the implications that a conviction could have to my career, etc, and so hiring a knowledgeable, experienced attorney was of utmost importance to me. After speaking with a couple of attorneys, I hired Bryan Stephenson. I had already heard good things before I spoke with him, but was most impressed with his diligent, meticulous approach in questioning me about the incident, discussing the process in which we would proceed, and identifying a few key angles that would eventually benefit my case. From the moment I hired Bryan, he began gathering evidence, police reports, etc and studying the case law examples that he would use in my defense. After carefully studying the evidence against me, most importantly, the parking garage surveillance footage, he subsequently filed a motion to dismiss this case based on the premise that the arriving officer unconstitutionally seized me in his haste to make an arrest. Eventually, through strategic questioning of the police officer by Bryan and the officer's waivering testimony in front of the judge, the DA was unable to supply basis for denying the motion. Both the DUI and the Implied Consent charges were dismissed from court and my life was returned to normal way sooner than I expected. From beginning to end, Bryan was meticulous in his approach and preparation of my defense, constantly communicating with me and preparing me for my case, and ultimately, his experience and hard work were paid with HUGE dividends in the dismissal of my case, both charges. I would not hesitate to refer and recommend Bryan Stephenson to anyone needing sound legal representation.

Bartlett Law Office
Back in February 2015, my life was about to change for the worse. I had been falsely accused of some very serious things. I searched and found attorney Kurt Bartlett. I explained the accusations to him. He listened with empathy. He was very understanding in the situation and never once made me feel like he wasn't interested or that this was just another case. He made me feel like this was just as important to him as it was to me. If this would have gone any further it would have been a life changing event for me and my family. Kurt reassured me that he would do what he could to make this as painless as possible. Every time I called with a question or to give him new information, he was available and never made me wait for a call back from him. My case was closed due lack of proof. From the beginning Kurt had stated that from his experience of past cases he felt there wasn't enough proof for a conviction but we couldn't go on that alone and we needed to expect the worst and hope for the best. I would recommend Kurt Bartlett to anyone in search of an AWESOME attorney!!!

Bryan was an amazing attorney. He got me out of the jam I was in. I was facing a potential felony theft charge and I walked away with 11/29 of supervised probation, no fines or restitution, no public service, and above all, no jail time. Mr. Stephenson was very responsive and worked very hard on my case to get it resolved without affecting my life negatively. He also got back to me on every question I had within a few hours and was very comforting throughout the entire process. I would reccommend Mr. Stephenson in any case you are facing especially if you want a lawyer that won't take no for an answer. He WILL fight for you and, chances are, will fight his way through what the DA offers until he reaches an agreement of a desirable outcome. Hire this man if you are in need of someone knowledgeable of the courts and how he can work with the prosecutors to get the outcome you want. He is an outstanding lawyer and great person.

Bryan is not only an excellent attorney but a great person. When I had my first brush with the law I researched extensively my available options. Bryans name came up and I decided to schedule a free consultation. What impressed me the most was how much he seemed to care about me as a client, my case, and my outcome. After moments into our consultation he broke down any negative stereotypes I had about lawyers. My consultation went over the scheduled time, yet he never once mentioned it and continued to happily answer my questions. Bryan is very knowledgeable, extremely responsive and professional. His experience as both an Assistant District Attorney and a criminal defense lawyer netted the absolute best outcome in my case. I am extremely grateful Bryan represented me and would highly recommend him to any friend, family member or stranger

After being arrested, I was uncertain on how to proceed. I have a friend that referred Mr. Bartlett to me. After speaking with Mr. Bartlett I knew that I was making the correct decision. His background built a remarkable foundation that he can utilize throughout your case. I hired Mr. Bartlett on the spot after our conversation, and hearing how informed and knowledgeable Kurt was. I would highly recommend Mr. Bartlett to anyone in need of a DUI/DWI case. He was a tremendous help in my corner, and he helped me to understand every step of the process... Nothing but High respect for Mr. Bartlett... I'm not sure if he can read these, but thank you for all of your help and knowledge Mr. Bartlett, and hopefully I will not need a lawyer again, but if I do then I know exactly who to call!

Brad Frakes
Brad Frakes is not only a good attorney he is absolutely fantastic! Frakes get's the "job" done! After consulting with many attorney's even hiring and firing one, after thousands spent, I finally found the attorney I needed and wanted to work with, Brad Frakes. I made an appointment to meet with Frakes and retained him immediately upon terminating a prior contract with another firm. In working with Frakes I have found some of the best attributes needed to fit my standards of having the "best" attorney. For example, outstanding communication skills, extremely knowledgeable, valuable, tentative, respectful and very affordable! He strongly resolved my custody issues! Thanks Brad for making my life more enjoyable and less stressful!

Bartlett Law Office
I'm an architect. After work a few months ago I was having a couple drinks after work with a couple of my associates. Well, on the way home I got stopped in a road block sobriety test check point and didn't know my rights. Unlike the science of building, the legal system has many loopholes and is tricky. A good thing for me I happened to get an attorney that "knows his business!" Kurt Bartlett handled my situation that could have been terrible for me, my job and career, my family would have all been hit hard with this had I not hired him. I was fortunate, but I would recommend Kurt to anyone dealing with legal matters. He knows his 'science' well.

My experience with Kurt was short, but that is the beauty of my experience. he was prompt, and knowledgeable and able to help close my case swiftly. He was completely professional, but also accompanied that with a very open and friendly demeanor. He was able to help me close my case, settle, and move forward in life. Since then he has occasionally checked in on me to ensure that all is well. Hopefully, I will not have to utilize Mr. Bartlett again, but if I am facing any future legality issues, then I will definitely be giving Kurt another call. But let's hope for my family's sake that I do not have to! Greatest lawyer there is!
Tips & Advices
When it comes time to choose a lawyer, you should start by searching close to home. If you do have attorneys you are familiar with, ask who they believe would be best for you. After going through personal references - especially from individuals who had similar needs - you should broaden your search through public information resources. You can call your area's attorney referral service or check legal organizations like Martindale-Hubbell. There are other resources available online, such as yellowpages.com. You can check websites for client reviews and other third-party forms of approval.
If you sign documents and you come across a word you don't recognize, or you need help to navigate important employment or real estate paperwork. Also, during times when personal matters intersect with legal proceedings, you might need to have an advocate to prevent your emotions from getting in the way. If you've been accused of a crime or are in a terrible financial situation, you can find an attorney who will work with what you have available.
When you hire a lawyer, you're agreeing to work with someone over a certain period of time. The more forthcoming the lawyer appears to be with individual needs, the better.
  • You need to ask questions about how the attorney will communicate with you and what responsibilities you hold in the relationship.
  • The attorney should let you know the best channel for quick communication and you need to inform him or her when you want updates.
  • You should also ask questions to get to know the attorney as an individual in order to ensure this is a person you can trust. Ask about their legal philosophy and how he or she views the lawyer/client relationship. Ask as how to keep fees down or what daily disruptions you should expect from a long legal battle.
You need to ask about every possible fee that will come up when working with an attorney. You should request a list of all costs in advance so you won't be surprised by additional expenses like overhead. Also determine exactly when you will start being billed. You want to inspect paperwork carefully. If the attorney charges you for his or her experience, you need to make sure he or she will perform tasks personally and not hand it off to an assistant. Find out if the attorney has a flat fee or charges by the hour. Many civil lawyers work on contingency. Make inquiries about how the lawyer plans to provide service for your money and what you can do if you start to feel unsatisfied with his or her performance.
You can ask how many similar cases they have handled and if they have special skills or training that applies specifically to your needs. Lawyers can't mention clients by name, but you should ask for basic details about identical past cases. You should check their office for the appropriate certifications and diplomas. You can also ask how long he or she has practiced law and request information that demonstrates the practice's success. Look for precise details such as percentage of cases settled out of court.
