Vanderbilt University Hospital
I was in a bad Car accident on August 17,2013 and I was Lifeflighted to Vanderbilt. For 3 days I laid in a medically induced coma due to the injuries. Had over 3 surgeries to repair all the broken bones I received from the accident. Upon waking up I didn't know what happened or where I was not to mention I had a breathing tube and couldn't communicate. Scariest feeling in the world. But the staff did their best to keep me calm. I received excellent care from Nursing and Doctors. The only problem I had was the lack of bedside manners my Doctor had but after all he done for me I had other things to worry about and most of all definitely grateful to his amazing work on me. I used to work for this Hospital on the 9th floor and I knew I was in good hands but when you become a patient and not a caregiver it's a hard transition. Life flight ( don't remember anything about that experience But I know they did a great job) Trauma and Critical Care staff were great and I'm truly thankful. So I say to all that was involved with all sincerity, Thank You from the bottom of my heart but from my 3 kids, my mother, and my sister as well. We are all very grateful.

Davis Holistic Chiropractic Center
As an active college student, with a hectic schedule, Dr. Davis relieved stress and pain in my neck, shoulder, and back, which I had been visiting my hometown doctor for years to correct. The first consultation revealed his unique method of targeting different parts of the body, to correct other parts and strengthen muscles that are weak. During the first visit, one of the muscles he corrected with my triceps. At my next Pilates class, I could tell my triceps were stronger! Each visit, he checks if these corrections stayed, and with me, my body was very accepting of his corrections and I felt great. Within three visits, my regular pains were no longer an issue. Dr. Davis and I also discussed my diet, being I am a gluten-free vegan, he gave me some supplements to help keep my body healthy. I regularly take these and my body has responded very positively to these! Definitely a doctor for anyone wanting to rid of their pain and become healthier overall!

Davis Holistic Chiropractic Center
I found Dr. Davis when I was experiencing some health challenges and was looking for an alternative to conventional medicine. After just my first appointment with him I felt an ease in my body I haven’t had for years. By clearing physical and emotional trauma, the chiropractic adjustments he performed (using a variety of techniques) have had a powerful lasting effect, allowing me to go completely off a medication I’ve been on for years. I’ve also benefitted from the other treatments he offers, including counseling on nutrition and supplements, FlorAlive uncut flower essences, and ion foot baths. It’s such a refreshing change to really address the root of my health issues, rather than just treating the symptoms. It is also a really lovely office to visit, as opposed to a regular doctor visit. I feel totally cared for by Dr. Davis and his wonderful assistant and am so grateful I found him!

Davis Holistic Chiropractic Center
"As Dr. Brent Davis integrates complimentary therapies to promote optimal health, he understands the crucial balance of physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and environmental conditions that affect overall wellbeing. These aspects of my life were not in balance and my body's innate ability to heal itself was obstructed. Through Dr. Davis' mentoring, guidance and chiropractic adjustments, I have flourished with new vitality that has facilitated in restoring my balance to a more optimal health and better quality of life. Some health directed specifics have been lowering my A1C from 6.1 to 5.7, losing 10 pounds, and significantly reducing chronic pain from fibromyalgia." Isaac Spine Joint and Pain Institute
I saw angela at issac.. She was very thorough with my consultation and wanted to help. I was hit by a semi truck and had steal rods in each of my shins and screws in my knee. They do ask alot of questions to make sure your not an addict as do all other pain clinics. My record shows that i was on suboxone so all the other PC clinics would not see me but this place did. The area is pretty ghetto so most of their patients are opiate seeking addicts whom are very rude to the staff. I think most of the bad reviews are just people who tried to get strong pills and were denied. I am very thankful that this place is willing to help.if you are in legitimate pain this place will help you. Just abide by their rules

Baptist Hospital
Trying to review Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital (formerly known as Baptist). Was in for Labor & Delivery. Guess YP hasn't updated businesses. Terrible horrible food. Great service, upstanding nurses/specialists/MDs/Catering staff. They're undergoing a huge renovation project (makes it tricky to navigate) and seems understaffed. Very well looked after despite the staff's challenges. Breakfast foods (eggs & bacon) are the only real, not processed or frozen foods on current menu. Coffee is also terrible, but there is a bad mini Starbucks there. Felt safe the whole time, despite having some major complications after delivery.

Davis Holistic Chiropractic Center
I have been receiving holistic/natural health care for about 9 years with a widely known and highly skilled practitioner in California. When i recently relocated to Nashville, i found Dr. Davis. Without being told any of my previous issues, he found and successfully treated some health issues i'd been dealing with. This confirmed to me that he is accurate and successful in his methods of diagnosis and treatment. He truly believes as i do in treating the root cause and not chasing symptoms. I'm so grateful to have found him. I definately recommend him to anyone seeking true physical and emotional health.

Hope Health
They are very professional and listen to your needs. Most doctors tell you whats wrong before they even hear from you, but not Hope Health. The staff is wonderfull and very friendly, and will always work with you in any situation. So if you need a doctor who will help you in a professional manner, and will answer your questioned based on what you ask (Not by what they want to tell you to get you out of there). This is the place for you. Keep up the great work and I would recomend them to anybody.

First off, Vanderbilt is a wonderful hospital most are very professional and the doctors r great I feel they actually care! The nurses like Mrs Bernie and Marina on 8th floor some of the best ever....Only complaint I had was the 6hr wait time in er to even see a Dr and there was a man in the Er with the back of his head bloody and he sit and waited a good 3-5 hrs just to be seen.....Er needs to decide quicker on who is more important patient and not have them waiting 3-6 hrs
Tips & Advices
Academic medical centers provide the widest range of specialty care treatments, including the latest technological advances, clinical trials, and surgical techniques. In general, an academic medical center is a better choice than a community hospital for complicated treatments or rare diseases. Pediatric intensive care, especially, is usually performed at academic medical centers.
Academic medical centers offer a broad range of specialized services, from allergists to urologists. Some of the larger medical centers have entire hospitals or clinics focused on a particular medical service, such as cancer treatment, though specialties vary among the centers. Patients whose community hospital or local doctors do not have the facilities or expertise to address complex medical conditions can be referred by their primary care physician or local specialist to a major medical center (there are more than a dozen in the United States).
Yes. In addition to their inpatient hospital services, medical centers can offer a wide variety of outpatient services, such as pain clinics, rehabilitation centers, surgery, imaging and laboratory, mental health treatment, and outpatient cancer treatment. Medical groups – doctors in private practice but affiliated with the medical center--will also have offices within the medical center.
Physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, residents, and attending physicians makeup the clinical staff of an academic medical center.
Medical center accreditation is not required, but most centers work voluntarily toward accreditation because it represents higher standards of healthcare quality and patient safety.
