Jim Smith - State Farm Insurance Agent
My family has been a customer of this for 30 years. My debit card became compromised in April and had a new one issued to me. Thus terminating the draft from State Farm for my insurance coverage. Instead of calling me to talk about it and find out what happened, They cancelled my policy without informing me. Not until July 6 did I call them to inquire about the missing drafts and renew my draft information. At this phone call, the employee never once told me that my policy had been terminated nor that they would have to write a new policy. I made a payment of two month's premium to cover the past 2 months, or so I was led to believe. I found out today, 3 weeks later, that I actually had no coverage from May 7- July 6 when they wrote the new policy and the money I paid did not go toward past months but towards a new doubled premium. Today I also found out that due to my change in driving record (which is true and not the issue here - I understand the insurance would increase slightly) State Farm has taken it up[on them selves to go ahead and terminate the NEW policy they wrote on July 7 and leave me without insurance once again. Basically, they took my money and covered me for the amount of time that would cover and then dropped me for no reason. After talking to Jim directly he was unwilling to make amends for the lack of competency of his employees. Now I am left without insurance and have a lapse of coverage greater than 30 days due to his incompetent employees. I would not recommend this agency to anyone.
