Firehouse Auto Care & Tire Inc
I took our newer Corvette into Firehouse to get an oil change. The car came with synthetic oil and the local dealer where we purchased the car stated that we should stay with synthetic oil. The dealer wanted to charge me close to $90 to do the oil change, stating that the synthetic oil was a lot more expensive. I had other cars inspected at Firehouse in the past so I decided to give them a try with the oil change. They saved me almost $20. I will be going back to Firehouse for service on all of our cars.

Lake Norman Tire & Auto Center
We put a leveling kit and bought new tires for my son's truck. All the staff at Lake Norman were fantastic. They helped us when we had any problems and gave us advice every step along the way. The unbelievable thing is that they sell tires at $10 above their cost!!!! We saved $200 on a set of tires compare to other tire places in Mooresville and the Lake Norman area. I highly recommend Lake Norman Tire and Auto!!!!!!!!!

Discount Tire
I needed a new set of tires, the old ones were totally spent. Mark and Worth were very helpful and gave me a great deal on good tires. I know this because I price checked around town and their price was the best. Service was quick and they were slammed too, word is out I suppose. Staff had a great attitude and is was just a pleasant experience. I'll be back again for sure.

Discount Tire
NOT discount on all tires....check around. As far as attitude they r great but price....not so much. I went to them to get 4 mud tires. It wud hav cost at $1270 just for the tires. I went to mooresville service center. Same 4 tires plus alignment which discount doesnt do for $1220. Tires r $1150 plus 69.99 for alignment. So they r not a discount on all tires.

This store use to be so good. But lately I had so many friends complain about the time it takes to get the vehicle back and that's it still not right. Now my son has had is truck there for 5 days and it will be another 2 days (due to holiday) before he gets it back. They have to order another part. I'm going to find another mechanic for my car.

Love these guys! Have been dealing with Dave and this business for years! Wish they were open on Saturday for a bit, my daughter coming home from college and needs inspection and oil change this Saturday and I'm in a panic because I'm going to have to take her car somewhere else.

Great, honest and affordable service! Brought my Jeep in for a very expensive repair. Get a call back saying it didn't need that repair, saving me quite a bit of money - which I was happy to spend fixing the rest of the problems that come along with a Jeep :).

Tips & Advices
Yes. New tires purchased online can often be priced lower than ones at a tire dealership. Buyers can often avoid state sales taxes and locate hard-to-find tire styles and sizes, but will still have to locate a local tire installer and pay sometimes high shipping costs.
The average cost of a set of new tires is $637, with a range of between $525-$725. In addition, installation includes mounting and balancing, alignment, and disposal of old tires.
The vehicle is raised and the old wheels are removed, then the old tires are removed from the wheels. The lug nuts, wheels, and valve stems are inspected and replaced as needed. The new tires are mounted and sealed, then inflated and balanced. The wheels are then replaced on the car. The average installation takes approximately 45 minutes.
Agencies such as the Tire Industry Association promotes tire safety through advocacy and education to the industry including: manufacture, sales, repair, service and recycling. Seek a full-service tire dealer who carries a wide variety of tire types and brands and asks about the type of driving you normally do.
  • Move your car to a safe location.
  • Turn on your car’s safety lights, apply the parking brakes and remove the hubcap if there is one.
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench (but do not remove them), raise the vehicle with a jack and then fully remove the lugnuts.
  • Remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare tire.
  • Tighten the lug nuts by hand, lower the car and then tighten them fully with the lug wrench.

Just a moment...
