I was surprised we could get a motel room so inexpensively, so had very low expectations. I was even more surprised by how nice it is. What a sweet room we got, all very clean and well furnished and kept up, just as nice as motels that go for $20 per night higher, if not nicer. For breakfast, there was the usual spread, with pots of coffee and milk for cereal, so you don't have to use those weird creamer things in your coffee, a juice dispenser and the waffle machine - and for the waffles, real butter rather than margarine. Plus, the place is landscaped really well, and there's a hot tub (which was only warm, i was told it isn't kept on in winter) and huge pool. So two thumbs up for this place! It's as sweet as it can be.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Portola Hotel-The doormen open the doore for you, making you feel right at home and well cared for! The check in was most pleasant and memorable with the warm chocolate chip cookies! Close to downtown for shops and near the coast jogging path. Also like their micro-brewery-Fine, fresh beer and a nearby cozy bed. Also like that the hotel is "green" minded - from the bath products to the fine mattress and room quality. You wll love it here.
Absolutely fantastic location. Located right next to Fisherman's Wharf. The inside of the hotel has recently been remodeled and is very welcoming. Unfortunately, they are not he best with check in. We were told we would be able to check in early. Not only were we not able check in early, but we were not able to get into our room until 2 hours after regular check in. I recommend this place, but be wary if you are running on a tight schedule.
We stayed 2 nights during the week at this place. It met and exceeded our expectations. Nice and clean room, enjoyed swimming pool and hot tub, good breakfast, excellent location - 5 minutes from Aquarium and fisherman's wharf. Only drawback is that since building is old you can hear neighbors and outside very well. Will come back if I visit Monterrey.
We stayed at Unscripted and found them as a last minute stay. It was beautiful, clean & they were pet friendly & accommodating for our 2 small dogs. We loved the ocean view, the pool & hot tub. Wish we had more time to stay! We will definitely be coming back.
Place was older, but clean and comfortable. Nothing to write home about, but certainly nothing to complain about either. Comfortable bed, hot water, good shower, clean bathroom & towels, and the front desk guy had a smile. What more do you need?
This place was great for it's location and proximity to attractions! The price was exceeded by it's quality! The beds had actual down comforters! The continental breakfast was nice as such could be, I would stay again in a heartbeat
Beautiful lobby with a glass wall with view of the ocean. Nice small pool and gift shop. They were remodeling so it was a little messy but got a great deal. Will definitely stay there again.
Love this hotel. Great indoor and outdoor facilities. They offer a complimentary wine and cheese during the week.great staff.live music in the bar area .
I stayed quite long ago with dog for 2-weeks. Asian operated, Asian treat. Make you feel at home. I am planing to stay again for a couple nights soon.
