Doctors Medical Center
I just had outpatient surgery at Doctor's Medical Center (DMC). The whole experience for me was wonderful. The Same Day Surgery center people were wonderful, attended to my needs. The Anesthesiologist & the Operating Room staff as well as the recovery room staff were great (in other words, everyone in that department were great). If I had to do it again, I'd have surgery there again. It beats the other place where I had surgery done before.

Lags Medical Center
My initial visit here was so bad I couldn't leave a review because a 1 star was too generous. However, I've noticed significant improvement with the new management that has taken over. I'm hopeful things will continue to improve.

Doctors Medical Center
Went to the ER three days in a row, each day progressively worse than the last. When I was admitted on the 3rd day I was septic and had MRSA. From what I can remember ( incredible pain all over my body 9.75 on a scale of 10)I spent 6 hrs in a little room somewhere in the bowels of the ER. The experience in the was extremely unpleasant - I couldn't get anyone's attention to get a bed pan so I had wet myself 2 times on the gurney - I had to lay in urine for a couple of hours. When I was finally taken to a room upstairs my treatment improved tremendously. I was so thankful for the wonderful nursing care I received - THE NURSES WERE GREAT.

Doctors Medical Center
I brought my husband to the ER yesterday morning, my husband suffers from COPD, the staff there was good, at the ER, but the service was terrible! We got there at 9:30 Am he was admitted to his room at 6:pm to South Tower 2nd floor. Then he gets released by noon time today, get home and almost passes out , he wasn't ready to come home, nurse there and the doctor have a lack of communication when it comes to the patient health! Nurses never tried to walk my husband down the hall way to make sure he could walk and not loose his breath, that was why he got admitted in the first place!

Gettysburg Medical Clinic
My daughter was a transfer from Sutter health, so I expect high quality care. I was hesitant coming to a new office. I was shocked how clean everything was, the girls at the desk were pleasant and helpful. My daughter saw Erol Deculing who by the way is not a doctor nor claims to be one, according to the comment before mine. He is a Nurse Practitioner. His wife is a doctor. He was very understanding of my daughter only wanting to see a female and made sure he did not touch her in anyway. So, far I like the office. If that changes I will be back.

Gettysburg Medical Clinic
Worst experience ever!!!!!! Definitely does not act like a professional doctor. Dr. Erol gives you a good first expression, and then it's all down hill from that point on. They don't follow up or follow through with referrals. Even when you call if they can't answer there is NO answering machine or medical exchange. It took three months to get my lab results after calling numerous times to get a follow up appointment, and when I finally do Dr. Erol comes into the room very defensive blaming me for not following up, really!!! He does not have any qualities of a genuine doctor who is supposed to care for his patients. Dr. Erol should not even be allowed to call himself a doctor, so he definitely should be revoked of his privileges of being a doctor. Definitely does not follow any code of conduct. Dr. Erol you should be ashamed of yourself!!!! A educated person as yourself should not ACT like that with any patients, REGARDLESS!!! Not to mention what a judgemental person Dr. Erol is!!!!

GREENLEAF URGENT CARE
Horrible experience from a horrible, rather simple minded PA, that obviously was one of those bottom feeders that almost didn't make it, but somehow managed to become licensed after skating his way through college and not paying much attention. After having a recent and extensivse brain surgery, I lost my private insurance and was forced to apply for MediCal. I was awaiting MediCal activation when I had a horridly painful pop at the base of my skill. In excruciating pain, I thought inxould perhaps avoid an elongated ER visit and go to urgent care to receive threameant for my severe pain (verified by my neurosurgeon in DC) yet this inept PA (punk a$$) refused and surely made a false assumption and chalked me up as a med seeker I am sure! Hey I am the furthest thing from this as I have legitimate chronic genetic diseases that cause severe pain that was well documented in my medical record that I brought with me that covers all medical care I've received for the last 15 years. Needless to say, I left in tears with a script for tylenol 3. Asshats.
Tips & Advices
Academic medical centers provide the widest range of specialty care treatments, including the latest technological advances, clinical trials, and surgical techniques. In general, an academic medical center is a better choice than a community hospital for complicated treatments or rare diseases. Pediatric intensive care, especially, is usually performed at academic medical centers.
Academic medical centers offer a broad range of specialized services, from allergists to urologists. Some of the larger medical centers have entire hospitals or clinics focused on a particular medical service, such as cancer treatment, though specialties vary among the centers. Patients whose community hospital or local doctors do not have the facilities or expertise to address complex medical conditions can be referred by their primary care physician or local specialist to a major medical center (there are more than a dozen in the United States).
Yes. In addition to their inpatient hospital services, medical centers can offer a wide variety of outpatient services, such as pain clinics, rehabilitation centers, surgery, imaging and laboratory, mental health treatment, and outpatient cancer treatment. Medical groups – doctors in private practice but affiliated with the medical center--will also have offices within the medical center.
Physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, residents, and attending physicians makeup the clinical staff of an academic medical center.
Medical center accreditation is not required, but most centers work voluntarily toward accreditation because it represents higher standards of healthcare quality and patient safety.
