Blum Glenn
Exceptional in All Regards!I have been meaning to post this for a long time.Dr. Blum is a superlative dentist and his staff is friendly and accommodating. Dr. Blum and staff excel at every level of patient care, before, during, and after any procedures; Dr. Blum has fielded many of my questions—personally—after-hours. I can't think of anyone who does that these days. Dr. Blum's skills as a dentist—and interpersonally—are top-notch; they just don't make them like this anymore (not to imply that the good doctor is an 'antique'). Dr. Blum never rushes the job; he takes pride in his work and goes the extra-mile for the patient, always focusing on quality. Dr. Blum and staff demonstrate a level of kindness, patience, and caring that is outstanding among medical professionals. I think that Dr. Blum is as fine a dentist as one can possibly be; but moreover, he is a gentleman of fine character. I am glad that he is my dentist. I sincerely feel that Dr. Blum and staff consistently provide superlative patient support, which is simply unrivaled. They are the best!

First Step Dental
I take all 4 of my kids here. I love it. So do the kids. They love watching movies while getting their teeth cleaned. 3 of my girls go to orthopedic there so I'm there often. I simply love everyone there.staff is super friendly and I love how they know everyone by name and give you a pleasant welcome everytime. Everyone makes it so comfortable and it's fast.I never have to wait and if I do is never for long. They follow up and make sure you are going to make your appointment in a timely matter. I highly recommend first step dental.

First Step Dental
I take both my young kids to the Modesto location and I go to the Turlock location. Both of my drama queen kids allow their assistance to do a complete check up, cleaning, flossing etc...that tells you enough about how patient they really are! It's always clean, including the restrooms. I highly recommend both locations, especially for children who are a bit hesitant to go to their dentist appointments. We love Dr. Sami and his team.

I have been 100% pleased with First Step Dental. They have always been nice & my kids are very comfortable going there. As for the reviews on DJ, she's never been rude to me, she just seems focused on work.

First Step Dental
Seriously the best place I could imagine. It helped that my 23 month old son did great, but he also got toys for how well he did. Great place and we always get a gift bag too.

Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
