Car Tech Synergy
Overall, my experience with this company was pretty rough, but it mostly wasn't their fault. Brought my car in to get some body work done after a wreck, and to make a long story short, the business partner they used (since CTS does mechanical work, not body work) sucked. They didn't even touch my car after 3wks of it sitting in their shop. It ended up taking 9wks to fix my car, when the initial estimate was 3-4wks. I was told CTS no longer does business with this company, due to this issue with my car.In addition to this delay, the communication between myself and CTS was terrible. I constantly had to initiate calls, just to get any updates (most "updates" were just explanations for why my car was delayed again). As it turns out, this was more a reflection of the front desk employee who worked there, at the time, and not a reflection of the business owner. Needless to say, this employee no longer works there. In all, this whole scenario was a nightmare, but it was mostly due to A. A bad business partner, whom CTS no longer works with, and B. An employee who didn't do his job and no longer works with the company. I can't blame them completely for others' failures, but there is some blame to be had, since they are the ones who took on this project in the first place. I docked them 1 star, for this reason. That said, they do an excellent job on vehicles where they are the ones actually doing the work; vehicles with mechanical issues and such. I have had no issues over the years with their quality of work. If that is the issue you are having, you can take your car here with confidence.

Swann's Automotive Repair
I was extremely pleased with the service that Swann's Automotive provided to me. I had used a series of automotive shops before landing here. My GMC came to a point where accelerating past 35 mph caused my entire vehicle to convulse terribly. I took it to two automotive shops that claimed they had gotten to the root of the problem. $700 later and my car still was suffering from the same problem. I heard about Swann's through a family friend and had my car towed from Turlock to Modesto. Within the hour, Swann's contacted me and told me the exact issue that was plaguing my car. I even came in and they showed me exactly what they were going to do to my car. They were honest and spelled out everything that was happening with it. Two days later, my car was running like a dream. The honesty, professionalism, and efficiency that Swann's showed me was awesome. They made me feel like family. I have been using them for four years now and I could not be happier. Matt Hildreth has the know-how to get your car running and keep it that way.

The Ford Doctors
Several years ago, I had a Ford van that I had taken to a couple of different places in Modesto to be worked on. Every time I took it, some new problem would come up. After spending a couple of thousand dollars, I finally found the Ford Doctors. They told me they could keep it running, but it wouldn't be worth it. There was too much wrong with it. I wish the other places would have been that honest. So now, I took my Ford Escape Hybrid to him. He did a diagnostic on it. He refered me to the dealer, as what he found he believed should be addressed by the dealer. He never charged me a dime for his time or test. He could easily have charged me anything and done some bogus work, as so many unscrupulous places do. But he's a great guy. He was HONEST. HE CALLED ME TWO WEEKS LATER, to find out if the dealer had fixed the problem. Who does that? THE FORD DOCTORS DO! I have heard so many great things about this place. I really feel safe to tell everyone, take your cars here. He works on most cars. Not just Fords.

Auto & Fleet Mechanic
I'm very impressed with the quality of service from Auto & Fleet Mechanic. Bob & Mike bent over backwards to accommodate my truck repairs. My head gasket originally needed replaced and so I took it to Auto & Fleet to fix it. On my way home from picking my truck up the "check engine" light popped back on. So, I took it back into Auto & Fleet and they split the diagnostic fee and then promptly fixed the EGR Solinoid & Idle Air Control Valve. After picking my truck up the second time, the check engine light popped back on. So, Bob drove clear across town to pickup my truck and then fixed it for free and drove it back across town for me. Auto & Fleet was very professional and gave accurate timelines and accurate price quotes. I'm very impressed with the quality of customer service even though they had to take a look at my truck three times to completely fix the problem.I highly recommend Auto & Fleet to anyone.

The Ford Doctors
Chris has a great shop and knows what he's doing. He is more worried about quality over quantity. Great knowledge and attention to detail. He really went out of his way on my truck and kept me well informed. Was always willing to diguse anything in detail and have me come in and see how things were going while he worked on my truck. In todays day and age, when most people are looking out for themselves, it's nice to have someone looking out for your best interest. Check out Ford Doctor (Chris). You won't be disapointed.

Miller Automotive
I was traveling from Visalia to San Francisco & started to feel something very wrong with my Audi A6. I got on my I Phone to find a auto repair shop not far for the freeway & found Miller Automotive. Wow all I can say is great service. They found the problem it was my suspension. I remembered hitting a big pot hole. I felt like family the way I was treated. I recommend this shop to anyone looking for a honest car doctor. I will stop by when ever I'm in town!!!! Thank you again!

Specialized Automotive Inc.
Since 2005 or so I have taken 2 Honda's (2002 and 1998) 2 Lexus (2007 and 1998) and one Acura (2007) here for everything from oil and filter service to transmission repairs, suspension repairs and many more. I have never had anything but good communication from Craig or Moses, accurate estimates and fair prices as well as good repair work. Never a problem. I only wish they worked on GM's and Fords. I would and have recommended Specialized Auto to my friends and family.

This owner is amazing! He has helped and done everything he can with my vehicle. I first bought my car and took it to him. He and his crew did wonders. I have since taken my car back two other times for little glitches. My parents have saw my awesome experience and started taking their cars there. They have a truck and car. My sister and boyfriend say they will go next time they have a problem with their vehicle. A+ experience every single time. He knows us by name

Swann's Automotive Repair
This 3 generation family owned shop has always handled my vehicles with the utmost care and expertise. When I was fighting a law suit against an unscrupulous auto dealer, they were able to quickly and accurately find and detail all of the problems with the vehicle and provide me the information I needed. Any repairs I have needed through them have always been prompt and competitively priced. I would recommend them to anyone!

I was recommended to go to this shop by a co-worker who heard my brakes grinding as I pulled into work. I called to get an appointment & to my surprise was able to drop it off @ lunch & it was ready when I got off of work. They offered a shuttle ride but my friend wanted to stop by to get air in her tires :)Very friendly & honest. Totally recommend this shop to all my friends
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
