Northcutt Dental Practice
I just wanted to say I appreciate everyone that participated in the Dental from the heart today.I had a pretty difficult situation with a back tooth and the dentist and his tech were very patient and took excellent care or me!We had to stand in line for a couple of hours outside but that is too be expected when you have a free clinic. The weather wasn't bad and there was a light breeze blowing so it was comfortable as far as heat.At least it wasn't raining and the heat index wasn't 105! I just wanted to say Thanks Guys for excellent service. This came at a great time for me no dental insurance and between jobs and I needed that tooth taken care of and out of my mouth!Again Thank You to you all that was involved in Dental from the heart.I slept better than I have in a while.A little sore but it's outta my mouth now!Came to my needs as well as several others when it was greatly appreciated.Take Care and Thank You Again! I have been going for a few years. The facility is great, the dentist is wonderful, but I had a bad experience with one of his assistants. I went in once and I described where and how my teeth were hurting, and in previous dental offices, the staff immediately knew what was wrong. But this dental assistant kept asking about it over and over, before the dentist came in, using a flustered tone as if she had never heard of my problem before, and I was either stupid or wasting her time. But my worst experience was this past Spring right after I got married. I was rushing from work to get to my appointment, got caught in traffic, and ended up being 15 minutes late. The same dental assistant as before kept fussing at me for being late once I showed up. I would rather be turned away at the door. But they took me in and she brought up the topic of my tardiness four times as if I was burdening her. Again, please turn me away at the door. Don't fuss at me over and over. Won't come back.

Northcutt Dental Practice
After a medication I was taking caused breakage of teeth, I went to several dentist. Dr Mason was the only one willing to do what she could to help me keep my own teeth. I have had extraction, crowns, implant and will be having a bridge today. I still have a ways to go. I don't like going to the dentist, but at Northcutt I have gotten more comfortable each visit. Northcutt was also the most reasonable pricing of all the other dentist. I have been able to take the time I needed financially with no pressure. The office staff has always been helpful and supportive of my needs. I am so happy to have found a dentist that can do the work I need at one location. It's a good feeling to know I don't ever have to look for a dentist again. Happy to be a Northcutt patient! Thanks

Northcutt Dental Practice
Dr. Mason and her staff are wonderful! I have always been nervous when it comes to visiting the dentist, but she and her staff are so warm and inviting. It is extremely apparent that the patient's comfort is the number one priority - from the welcome you receive when you walk through the door to process of sitting in the dental chair with a tv to distract you should you choose to do so. I can't say enough about this wonderful practice, and I highly recommend Northcutt Dental on Schillinger!

Northcutt Dental Practice
Dr. Mason is incredible! She has been my dentist for over10 years and continues to be awesome. Northcutt's entire Mobile staff and facilities go above and beyond in my opinion. I have friends who see other dentists in this particular practice and are extremely pleased with all of them. I HIGHLY recommend Northcutt Dental to anyone looking for expert, professional and friendly dental care in the Mobile area. I simply cannot say enough good things about them.

Hicks and McMurphy Orthodontics
Dr. Hicks and all of the staff at Hicks-McMurphy are always there to greet Bowen in a caring but professional and helpful way. I never thought a child would look forward to orthodontist appointments, but he truly loves going (even when he doesn't miss school)! :) We are thankful for Dr. Hick's and the work he does. There are a lot of beautiful smiles out there because of him, and soon Bowen will be one of them! Thank you so very much! J. Kittrell

I highly recommend Northcutt Dental in Mobile. Great staff and a very nice big office! From the front desk staff, to the hygienist's assistant Jessica, our hygienist Stephanie, and the dentist Dr. Tran, everyone was very friendly and helpful. They all did a great job at making my 5 year old feel comfortable. We will definitely be returning for our next cleaning visit!

Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
