All Drains Master Sewer & Plumbing
Cyrus, did the work was fast, efficient, and did a top quality job. He was in and out in less than hour (including inspection, travel time to get the part and clean up). Plumbing work can be expensive, but All Drains Master was honest and provided me with a fair and reasonable cost. I had another company (Benjamin Franklin) give me an estimate for the same job that was twice what All Drains Master charged (and they tried to sell me on additional unneeded work). No sales pitches from All Drains Master, he just did the work that was needed. I will definitely be using All Drains Master in the future for any plumbing needs. Preston J 9/3/14

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
Our kitchen sink had not been draining for about 6 weeks. Snaked it ourselves, and tried dumping various chemicals down it, to no avail. We waited it out to see if maybe it was a frozen pipe, but finally gave in and decided to call Roto-Rooter. We had called a local plumber for a small job about 6 mos. ago and were charged almost $400 for him to not even fix our problem, so this time around we were prepared for another huge bill.. but we were only charged their 249.00 fee for the first hour (took about an hour). Drain is working and I am happy to no longer be dragging buckets of dirty water to the toilet as I do the dishes!!

Metro Drain Master Sewer & Drain Cleaning
I highly recommend them for your plumbing needs! I've gone through them twice now. I'm always skeptical about hiring any kind of company to do work on my house, because I feel like some try to rip you off and are just rude. When I called to schedule an appointment they actually TRIED to save me money, by letting me know if would be cheaper if I scheduled it after their sale starts in a few days. I had the same guy come to my house for both service calls. He was very friendly and professional, and was in and out in no time! I will definitely be calling them for any future plumbing services.

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing Twin Cities
Ben Franklin won't tell you the rate before they have charged you for the call, then it's $500 for what independent contractors charge less than $200 for. After they pulled my toilet to remove a kitty litter clog, it started leaking... And wouldn't you know it, that was my fault, too. Now, I have to replace the floor in my bathroom. If this company used competitive rates, perhaps they could build some good will. As it is, I am highly suspicious that an unnecessary repair, done badly, has opened a Pandora's box of further repairs... Never let these people in your house.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
Roto Rooter was excellent! They were very prompt (within 2 hours of me calling), knowledgeable, respectful, and caring. They informed us right away of their findings when assessing our leak and were realistic with us about damage and the cost to remedy. Their professionalism was top notch in my opinion! They also helped us in how to work with our homeowners insurance which was extemely helpful! I really appreciated having Nathan and Jason come into our home and work to correct the issue! I would highly recommend them and we will use their service again if needed!

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
What I liked was they were prompt and knowledgeable. What I think is a scam was the fact fbat they were in my house for literally 3 minutes, zero parts used and it cost me $250. They were fixing my garbage disposal and he made me sign something that guaranteed I would pay when he was done, even though I'm sure he knew it would take 2 minutes/. I should have known this, but all he had to do was hit the reset button. Lesson learned I guess.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
Our basement started flooding in the drain and so my husband and I called Roto-Rooter. I was surprised at their speedy time on getting here. When they arrived they found the problem quickly. There had been wipes flushed down the toilet and it blocked the main pipe into the house. Our technician was very professional and gave us all the information on what he was going to do before he started. I will defiantly call them again. Very pleased!

Aqua City Plumbing
This company is dependable and very personable. They have a quick response rate and answer the phone 7 days a week. I was surprised that most of the weekend hours were billed at the regular rate. I had a new toilet put in and the plumber was quick, quiet and very neat. I was given a lot of information and suggestions over the phone as to the model(s) I should consider and how they worked. I would highly recommend this company!

Cutting Edge Sewer & Drain, LLC
I called Cutting Edge Saturday morning because I noticed there was water in my basement, Joe answered the phone and was out to my home within 2hrs, he assessed the problem and explained what the problem was, he was upfront about the price before he ever started, he left no room for surprises. Joe laid down floor runners and wore shoe covers. My drain was fixed in no time. I would highly recommend him and will use him again.
Tips & Advices
The following tools and common household objects can be used to clean drains at home:
  • A plunger
  • A drain snake
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Grease-fighting dish soap
Homeowners can mix boiling water with any of the last three products to break up grease and grime.
The main ingredients in clog removal liquid products are sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. According to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, both break down into relatively harmless components when it comes into contact with water or soil. However, both substances cause mild irritation to skin and internal tissues.
Also known as a drain auger, a drain snake is a coiled device around ΒΌ-inch thick. To use a drain snake, put the end into the entrance of the drain. Turn the handle to force the snake deeper, using extra pressure to force it through the bend in the pipe. Keep turning until the snake hits the clog, then either pull the snake and remove the obstruction or force it through. Once the snake is out of the drain, run the water on full blast for a few minutes to ensure the obstruction is completely removed.
Plungers don't damage residential pipes, but the force created by the act of plunging weakens the seal between the toilet and the floor.
Many plumbers, both local businesses and nationwide chains, offer emergency or same-day services.
