Mayfield Tire Shop
I had a positive experience with Steve and Joe today! I have known Steve not on a personal level, but know him from his having ran a store called "Mr. B's" for several years. Steve has always seemed to be a very straight forward person that does not tolerate dihonesty with his fomer and current employees. I met Joe, Steve's Mechanic at Mayfield, and he is an extremely friendly, personable, and seemingly very knowledgeable young man, as I am a former Mechanic myself and know my way around an automobile fairly well. I had Joe install a new universal flex ehaust pipe on my vehicle. watched his work, as well as the owner stepping in from time to time to check on progress as he wanted us to be able to leave as soon as we could. The job was done to my complete satisfaction, and was told that in time that i would need extra gaskets, etc. , for the rest of the system as my vehicle is aging and these things are to be expected. Joe very kindly explaind the reasons why extra work "should" be needed, not "has" to be completed, and explained the process to me. I am very impressed by Mayfield auto's honesty, pricing is within reason, stay after hours to "get-you-done" without extra charge, and they don't care to stand around for a bit to talk about work performed! I am an ex-mechanic that's not able to perform the majority of my own work any more due to Rheumatoid arthritis, and these guys respaect the fact that I have knowledge, and did not in any way make me feel as if I had no clue! Small shop, good guys, great business!

Mike's Garage
Mike is the best around. I had a valve job done on my Toyota Tercel years ago. I had that car 15 yrs before giving it away to a needy friend. He fixed it so well it was like a new car. If you have a Toyota or Honda he is the best. I just had my Nissan Altima towed to his place and I know he will fix it right and tell me exactly what is wrong. I don't know about the other person who said "don't go there" but I have recommended family and friends and he has done everyone right. He has integrity and is honest and will take the time to fix your car right. He is well worth it.

Mid-Western Auto Sales
I absolutely love Midwestern! I purchased my truck from here and couldn't be happier. sure there are things that are wrong when it comes to buying a used car, but if you approach people correctly they are more than willing to help you with any issues. It's the people that are mad and giving bad ratings, because they act like they bought a bran new car and flip out when something does go wrong with their USED car. I recommend Midwestern auto sales to everyone!

Don's Tire Center
Years ago I was in a heck of a mess and most places contacted didn't seem to want to be bothered. When I called here and went in, not only was I treated like a person but got some reliable used tires that lasted the life of the car. I've been back and will always give them a shot at my tire needs. They may not be able to match some of the big chain deals but there's no surprises and most of all, they care...

Integrity Automotive
We are from out-of-town visiting Middletown because of a funeral and unexpectedly needed replacement of our water pump. Pete was very understanding of our dilemma. He had the water pump replaced in less than 4 hours of dropping it off. Great customer service.

Tips & Advices
Yes. New tires purchased online can often be priced lower than ones at a tire dealership. Buyers can often avoid state sales taxes and locate hard-to-find tire styles and sizes, but will still have to locate a local tire installer and pay sometimes high shipping costs.
The average cost of a set of new tires is $637, with a range of between $525-$725. In addition, installation includes mounting and balancing, alignment, and disposal of old tires.
The vehicle is raised and the old wheels are removed, then the old tires are removed from the wheels. The lug nuts, wheels, and valve stems are inspected and replaced as needed. The new tires are mounted and sealed, then inflated and balanced. The wheels are then replaced on the car. The average installation takes approximately 45 minutes.
Agencies such as the Tire Industry Association promotes tire safety through advocacy and education to the industry including: manufacture, sales, repair, service and recycling. Seek a full-service tire dealer who carries a wide variety of tire types and brands and asks about the type of driving you normally do.
  • Move your car to a safe location.
  • Turn on your car’s safety lights, apply the parking brakes and remove the hubcap if there is one.
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench (but do not remove them), raise the vehicle with a jack and then fully remove the lugnuts.
  • Remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare tire.
  • Tighten the lug nuts by hand, lower the car and then tighten them fully with the lug wrench.

Just a moment...
