SUMMARY: 18 months ago, the owner promised something he couldn’t do for the price he quoted. Then the mechanic tried to replace a perfectly good transmission. I left, but it ended up costing me a $150 freight charge for returning transmission, $75 for a tow to Transmission Express, several hours of work doing research and dealing with parts vendors, 5 extra day being without a truck, and a lot of worry. DETAILS:The owner believed my Silverado probably had a bad transmission and said that he could rebuild it, but he didn’t ask if was a diesel Silverado, something he could only replace. He had phenomenal online ratings, and it appeared to be was an honest mistake, so I told him to go ahead and replace it. His mechanic then made a second big mistake, misdiagnosing it as a bad differential because of an error code without noticing that all the fluid drained from a hole in the bottom of the differential. He said the error code meant that the transmission was bad. I looked it up and it only said, “unable to shift”, and I easily found a discussion online with someone saying a bad differential could cause that.While discussing this with the mechanic, he said that I also had a bad lower oil gasket, which was expensive to replace, but because the transmission would be replaced, he would do it for something like $500 rather than several hundred more. I wanted to see how far he would go with this so I asked what he thought I should do. He began to argue in favor of replacing it, and I reminded him it was a high millage truck and said that I parked on gravel, and he got a little angry and said, “You just go ahead and tell me what you want me to do!” I said I wanted him to not accept deliver of the transmission coming in and let me tow it away. He seemed happy to be rid of it (and me), but to his credit he said he wouldn’t charge anything. I paid his standard diagnostic charge anyway. I understand why people like these guys. They’re personable, mostly honest, and they’ll tell you so. But this was something out of their league, and when the mechanic made a big mistake, he didn’t recognize or own it. Under other circumstances, I might use them for less complex problems if I lived closer, but not for something big that I couldn’t monitor.

I moved from Queens N.Y. To Miami back in 2002. At the time I had a 1995 Honda Civic that was built for performance. I needed to have the axles replaced so I went to Rack And Axles which at the time I also wanted to convert my power steering rack to a manual one. They did all the work and it turned out great!! Like if the car came that way from the factory!! I was so impressed with their work and customer service provided that I continued to go to them whenever I needed any type of drive line, suspension or brake work done. They have always been very courteous and professional. Above all they have always been very considerate in treating my care with extreme care! Their rates are very reasonable especially for the high quality of work that is provided. In my most recent visit I brought my 2002 Civic to them because of some serious vibration that would occur when in higher engine loads at 30-40 mph and again around 80 mph. I checked my wheels and axles which did not show any signs of damage or wear so I was thinking that it may be something in the suspension. They were able to diagnose the problem to the axle which they built and installed a superior unit in comparison to the High Tier Discount Auto axle that was in the car. Needless to say the vibration was eliminated up to speeds I rather not say in a public forum! Now, I love my Honda and will not let just anyone work on my car, however I have become a lifetime loyal customer to Rack And Axles because of their professionalism, respect for my property and work performed these past 10 years+! I have recommended all of my friends and family who have all thanked my for telling them about this shop! The owner Soto and his brother are one of the best pair of mechanics I have known in the past 20 years I have been in the Honda motor sports scene! I highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs any type of automotive mechanic work needed! As they specialize in Rack And Axles, they also do all types of automotive work!!

The best in town hands down. Intelligent analysis, the most reasonable rates you’ll find in Miami, quick turnaround, and spot on professionalism is the order of the day. I own a 1968 Ford Mustang coupe that came with an OEM air conditioning system. I have had the car for the past year-and-a-half or so and was considering making the system work again. I must say that I was very apprehensive to leave the car at any shop so I devoted quite some time doing extensive research over the internet for reputable ones that had some experience in vintage systems. I was particularly attracted to Auto A/C World due to the ample number of very positive reviews found all over the place. Most importantly, they had the experience I was searching for.I took the car last week and met Candy (Candido), the owner. He checked out the car and very promptly provided a quote and scope of work. The car stayed with him the same day. Soon thereafter he had already completed the rebuild and upgrade of the old compressor to accept the new refrigerant. He shortly discovered that the condenser was all clogged up so he set out to find the replacement part and let me know the additional cost. The car stayed for a few more days and I finally picked it up this week. The system is working as it should. Being a vintage system, Candy took over the job himself.He was very corteous and fairly priced considering it was an older system. I must say I will never take any of my cars to anyone else, period. For those gearheads out there who own older cars and are considering about fixing an A/C system just do not think it any longer. This shop is highly recommended.

It is VERY hard almost impossible to find any business in Miami that pays attention to detail. Usually it's just do the least amount of effort and move on to the next. THIS PLACE IS NOT LIKE THAT! They pay attention to the smallest detail. I was so shocked. When I first pulled up I saw a car that just had their windows done I asked to see how it looked, it looked great and the guy said he gets all his cars done there for as long as he's owned a car. I made an appointment for my cadillac escalade and got my front windshield done at 70% tint, my sunroof and 2 front side windows done at 15%. I used the nano film which is very high end and my car is now so much cooler inside. id say its 15 degrees cooler when I first get in now. I'm really glad I got my sunroof done too as a lot of the heat coming into the car was actually coming from there. Amazing job done, great price, and each film was applied 100% perfect. They have this down to a science. They don't try to upsell you anything, and they really know this business! I could not be any happier. Thank you so much guys. I highly recommend . My car used to have 5% tint on the side windows and I went to 15% now it's not as dark so seeing at night is better and it actually lets in less heat than my old 5% tint. That's how much better the quality is here. Don't think twice about going here, There is NO better tint shop in Miami, and I am now a life long customer! Thanks guys!

She did the "extra mile" when she realized that the piece for my car " the alternator" will take more time that expected the delivery she goes to the shop and buy and put it, in order give a service for me today because otherwise will take one day for delivery. Candy and his people are honest and the prices are reasonable. When I dropped my car off, he even offered to drop me off at my house! These people go out of their way to help you.I have been here twice. I drive a 2000 Buick Regal. Until recently, it was still on the original system. However, things started to go. I came in once for an accumulator, some seals, and a few other items. Then, lately, it began making an awful noise, and it turned out that the compressor had broken. That was the second visit.I had taken the car before to a place a friend recommended, Eagle Overhauling. They told me the car was fine and put some freon in it. Granted, they didn't charge me for that, but they also did absolutely nothing to fix the problem.Candy diagnosed both issues within seconds! He charged me less than I thought for both sets of repairs, and now my Buick is blasting cool air!If anyone I know needs car AC repairs, I will be recommending Auto AC World to them. Also, Candy does some neat woodwork and there's at least one parrot there (I didn't look closely at the cage), so there's that.

I have been a customer of Rolando for almost two years, and I think he has been excellent. He is very punctual and very professional. The first time he checked my car, he figured my car had an ignition related problem, for which he referred me to his mentor's (Benny) repair shop. Benny was able to fix the problem promptly, and the price was appropriate. The second time he checked it, it was for an AC problem. I had tried to solve this problem on a dealer repair shop. They charged me around $500 to try to repair it, and their repair only worked for a few weeks. The dealer shop thought the problem was a lack of Frion, and a bad arrangement with the connections behind the AC electrical box. However, Rolando figured that AC electrical box was damaged, and helped me to get a new one, for an appropriate price. He installed it and I have never had problem with my AC ever since. He also successfully helped me solving a problem that required changing my on-board diagnostic computer, and he helped me find one for an appropriate price. I strongly recommend having Rolando check your car!

Marcel Bumper To Bumper
After an accident, I needed to get my car fixed. I didn’t know where to go. Online I saw a site that listed the best body shops in Miami. That’s how I found Marcel’s Bumper 2 Bumper. I was shocked when I picked up my car. The repairs were flawless, & my car was completely detailed. It looked like new again. Marcel showed me what was done & told me to call him if there were any problems. I noticed that the car drove well, but that the horn didn’t sound the same. He didn’t make any excuses & arranged to fix it. When my car got into another accident, I took it to Marcel’s again. On the way, I made a stop & when I came out, I saw a big dent on my door. I asked Marcel for an estimate to have it fixed. To my surprise he fixed it & didn’t charge me extra for it! The people who work at Marcel’s shop are very meticulous & do a very good job. His wife works in the office & is very nice too. Marcel’s Bumper 2 Bumper definitely exceeded my expectations & I’d recommend them to anyone!
Tips & Advices
You should change your oil filter whenever you change your oil, that is, approximately every 7,500 miles.
A oil filter is a device that helps remove contaminants from motor oil as it passes through the engine. A pump pushed the oil through the filter where it is strained and goes back to the engine.
High-mileage oil contains special conditioners that are said to help prevent gaskets from drying out and thus preventing leaks. This can be beneficial to engines with many miles on them.
Synthetic oil costs more than conventional oil, but the price is offset by the need for less frequent oil changes due to the oil’s durability.
Tools needed to change your own oil include jack stands or ramps, a wrench, an oil filter wrench, an oil drip pan, funnel, replacement oil filter, and replacement oil.
