Southeast Veterinary Neurology
Thanks Dr.FreemanHazel's great care I honestly can't say enough good things about Southeast Veterinary Neurology . I had to take my three year old dog to them on a Monday 2/11/13 because the Pet emergency had diagnosed her with a spine problem and told me if I didn't have surgery done the problem would get painfully worst for her. I took her to Southeast Veterinary Neurology and Dr. Freeman did an MRI on her and highly recommended surgery. We ended up having to do emergency surgery on her spinal cord because her back legs had become paralyzed. She called me at work and carefully explained everything about the procedure. After surgery, she called me to check in and explain how the surgery had went. She had to stay with them for a couple of days following surgery, but we visited and realized that her staff was just as awesome as she was. They constantly complemented how great my pet was and it was obvious to us that they treated her as part of their work family. When I was able to take her home with me, they made sure that we knew what was needed to nurse her back to her happy playful self. They also called to check in on me and my dog's progress. Whenever we visited their office It felt like the entire staff stopped what they were doing to come greet us and walk our dog out with so much care. I could tell that they genuinely loved my dog and I knew that they were taking the best possible care of her. While the price is expensive, it is 100% worth it. I always felt like they were looking out for my dog's best interests. They encouraged me to stop in or call whenever I wanted/needed help or information. Allison was BEYOND phenomenal and was so informative. The front desk staff, Michelle in particular, were so friendly and warm and made me feel welcome every time I called or came in. I know that it's traumatic to take your pet into an emergency clinic and even harder to receive news that you weren't expecting and/or dreading. However, everyone on this staff made sure I was informed along every step of the way. I'm so grateful that we were referred there because I know that my dog was in the best care possible. Thank you to all the doctors and staff at Southeast Veterinary Neurology. You have been amazing!

I have never been to your clinic. I live in Kentucky... I just saw the news (via Facebook) where you helped that paralyzed dog by performing a $6000 neuro/spinal surgery to save its life and then made sure that family got their dog back for Christmas. This news has completely restored my belief that there are people/veterinarians like you in this world who will do a thing like this. You see, almost 2 years ago, I lost my beloved Tuff Stuff at 7.5 years of age due to a slipped disc and then paralyzation. But he could feel the pain, and he lost control of all of his functions. He could not even lie down without screaming out in pain. After 4 days of prednisone and tramadol for him, and no food or sleep for me, my vet told me there was nothing more that could be done for him, short of the surgery that would cost at least $5000, and there was still no guarantees. We simply did not have the money... I could not stand to see my baby in so much pain and had to make that God awful decision to humanely euthanize him. I could not, for the life of me, understand WHY no vet would help me... Upon reading this news, I am instantly transported back to January 2013, when I lost my baby. All of the raw emotions are upon me again as if it just happened all over again. I just want to say Thank you for helping that dog, and its family. And for putting that faith back into my heart that there ARE veterinarians out there like you, even if I wasn't lucky enough to have known you myself, that are in the business because you LOVE animals, and because you truly care. You have a heart of pure gold!!! You are amazing!!! I just really, really needed to tell you that.Sincerely, with all my heart,Angela Howard ❤️

I definitely recommend that you bring your pet to this place was great. They were very informative and friendly! I can not explain how grateful I'm!I was searching on Google for a Pet Emergency, My dog bit a toad and by the time we got there he was stiff and unresponsive. It was a horrible experience. Dr. and staff dropped everything they were doing and spent hours attending to my dog and going above and beyond to save him. Each staff member genuinely cared about my dog and would not give up on him. After a few hours of relentless work they were able to stabilize him against all odds. They were extremely knowledgeable and caring during the whole ordeal. Thank you Miami Pet Emergency I really appropriate your efforts During visit, the staff at Dr office went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable in the waiting room. Dr explained to me very clearly what my dog might have and my option of treatments everything they did and all medication provided was exactly what he needed and that it was miraculous that they were able to save my dog considering how bad he had been poisoned. Now that my baby is all better and healthy. I'm really happy that I did choose "Miami Pet Emergency" blessings to of employees and staff for the excellent care provided to my dog. I will not take my dog anywhere else and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a REASONABLY PRICED EMERGENCY!!! place that truly cares about your pet! staff are truly awesome!! Miami Pet Emergency
We brought our cat Dexter in after we found out that he had a bladder stones blocking his urethra. Our own Vet were unable to work on him due to being hours of closing and told us that he needed emergency work done or his bladder could burst. We rushed him over Miami Pet Emergency Staff were truly amazing! We was very impressed by the fact that doctor was persistent and very patient with all of our questions and REALLY listened to every detail about our situation what would need to be done and the available options to save our little critter. After some deliberation, we opted to have the stones surgically removed and the doctor were very helpful in working with us on the cost of what was ending up to be a very expensive operation, Staff were quick and thorough and the price wagon the high end of what we consider reasonable "urgent care", but health and alive. We are happy to report, Dexter is doing great! Dexter was a foster failure and a integral part of our family. This is kind of the emergency room staff you will like to have for your son, or your mother. We were so lucky to have met while giving the best advice for our cat. " Miami Pet Emergency" is responsible for the happy cat that continues to fill my life and that of my family's with joy. We were very pleased with the compassion, concern, efficiency, and care the staff demonstrated. If we have another emergency that requires 24 hour monitoring with any of our pets we will be sure to use Miami Pet Emergency.

Miller Road Animal Clinic

Doctor Wong saved our dog Abbie's life. About a month ago she could barely move and was constantly crying out in pain. Our vet's diagnosed her with a slipped disk as being the most likely cause and referred us to Dr. Wong. After X-rays and an MRI confirmed the diagnosis Dr. Wong performed surgery on Abbie to fix the problem. The day after surgery she looked better than she has in a month. Within 2 days you could not even tell that she had ever been in any pain whatsoever.Every time we dealt with Dr. Wong or his staff they were extremely professional and courteous and you can tell that they are all in the business for the right reasons. They are obviously all animal lovers and took absolutely fantastic care of Abbie. They also answered all of my questions without making me feel like an idiot even if they were stupid questions. I never had a problem getting ahold of Dr. Wong and he took quite a bit of time during the diagnosis and pre-surgical consultation to explain exactly what was wrong with Abbie and how he was going to fix it. He even spent about 20 to 30 minutes going over the MRI in detail with me and showing me exactly what was going on with Abby.My family cannot thank Dr. Wong and the staff enough for what they've given back to our family.

Miller Road Animal Clinic
I loved this new clinic i found! I would recommend to everyone to go and get there pets seen and up to date with vaccinations, along with heartworm, flea/tick prevention there. The location is well kept, the staff is very friendly and knowledgable, and most importantly, provided the necessary care for my doggie. I loved the attention and the time given to explain things i did not understand or know. No sales pitch, no trying to sell extra unnecessary stuff! You guys are running a faboulos business and congratulate you on teaching/molding your staff to be as it is. Great location, loved you guys! Great job, you get an A+ in my book, and the other person who left you a bad comment has no idea what he is talking about. The coupons work and save a lot of money through them. And tags are a set price is most places as the county sells them for $30(fixed animals) or $60(not-fixed). And FYI, un fixed females can develop pyometra in the long run, which is a bad infection in the uterus and also ends up being a very much needed emergency surgery that is also very costy, or your pet can die. People should get there facts straight before putting others down, specially when they provide such great care.

Hardy, Joseph
I'm honored to be the first person to write a review about Dr. Joseph Hardy and his staff.I have known Dr. Hardy since 1998. I have had the privilage of being one of his staff members/ family for 8 years. He is the most caring, compassionate veterinarians you will ever meet. He also has a bedside manner that is amazing and lost in this day in age. I was also a client with the variety of animals, I would bring in to have him treat. Ranging from squirrels, lizards, cats, and dogs, etc. What is also great about the Animal Clinic of Ives Dairy Road, is that, they don't have a revolving door. You are not going to be expecting a new face everytime you walk in. The staff loves Dr. Hardy, not only as a boss but a friend and colleague. Most of his current staff has been with him for over 10 years.Dr. Hardy, has set a high example of what and how veterinary medicine should be. And even though I live in South Carolina now, the local vets hereare simply no comparsion. If something was to happen to my Berners, I would have zero qualms of packing the car and riding the eight hours for him to see them. That my friends is how, exceptional he is..

Links of Love Veterinary Clinic
There are not a lot of people I trust with my furry baby, but I wholeheartedly trust Dr. McNair and her team 100%. I can't recommend them enough. There are smart vets that only care about money, and then there are nice, caring vets that, well, I wouldn't trust with my pet in an emergency. Then, there are vets like Dr. McNair, who are both loving AND know what they are doing. Those are hard to find, which is why my pet and I will follow Dr. McNair to the end of the earth for her veterinary care. Seriously, she is that amazing! She truly, truly cares about animals and loves her pet patients as if they were her own. And she -always- takes her time with us during appointments. But what especially makes Links of Love special is the team! They are smart, professional, and genuinely care. At Links of Love you'll never feel like a number; they do such a great job at making you feel like family. Dr. McNair and her team really deserve nothing but the best, because that is what they give back to both our furry family members and to our community. Thank you guys for everything you have done! ♥

Southeast Veterinary Neurology
My 11 year old dachshund, Kirby, lost the use of her front legs and began to lose movement in her back legs. I sought the advise of the president of the Dachshund Rescue of South Florida who works with Dr. Wong frequently with down dachshunds. She told me to immediately take her to him and that age did not matter as long as she was healthy. Dr. Wong evaluated Kirby, recommended an MRI to confirm his suspicion of slipped disks and also confirmed that she would be a good candidate for surgery if her labs were normal. Dr. Wong's work with the Dachshund Rescue of South Florida and the success he has had with those patients brought confidence in my decision to leave Kirby's health in his hands. He is a wonderful vet specialist and his staff is also very cooperative and caring. I picked up Kirby 3 days after surgery and she was walking again. I highly recommend a visit to Dr. Wong at Southeast Veterinary Neurology at the slightest signs of back/neck injury.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
