SUMMARY: 18 months ago, the owner promised something he couldn’t do for the price he quoted. Then the mechanic tried to replace a perfectly good transmission. I left, but it ended up costing me a $150 freight charge for returning transmission, $75 for a tow to Transmission Express, several hours of work doing research and dealing with parts vendors, 5 extra day being without a truck, and a lot of worry. DETAILS:The owner believed my Silverado probably had a bad transmission and said that he could rebuild it, but he didn’t ask if was a diesel Silverado, something he could only replace. He had phenomenal online ratings, and it appeared to be was an honest mistake, so I told him to go ahead and replace it. His mechanic then made a second big mistake, misdiagnosing it as a bad differential because of an error code without noticing that all the fluid drained from a hole in the bottom of the differential. He said the error code meant that the transmission was bad. I looked it up and it only said, “unable to shift”, and I easily found a discussion online with someone saying a bad differential could cause that. While discussing this with the mechanic, he said that I also had a bad lower oil gasket, which was expensive to replace, but because the transmission would be replaced, he would do it for something like $500 rather than several hundred more. I wanted to see how far he would go with this so I asked what he thought I should do. He began to argue in favor of replacing it, and I reminded him it was a high millage truck and said that I parked on gravel, and he got a little angry and said, “You just go ahead and tell me what you want me to do!” I said I wanted him to not accept deliver of the transmission coming in and let me tow it away. He seemed happy to be rid of it (and me), but to his credit he said he wouldn’t charge anything. I paid his standard diagnostic charge anyway. I understand why people like these guys. They’re personable, mostly honest, and they’ll tell you so. But this was something out of their league, and when the mechanic made a big mistake, he didn’t recognize or own it. Under other circumstances, I might use them for less complex problems if I lived closer, but not for something big that I couldn’t monitor.

Finish Master
take my car for minor repairs and 3 months have not yet fixed, is the worst where you can take a car to repair

Finish Master
By far the WORST place to fix your car. DO NOT leave your car here. A minor problem that can be fixed in 1, 2 days tops, will take over a month to fix. There is no manager in the store and the ladies who work inside are as useless as it gets - they claim the car will be ready 6–7 times, they’ll make you go to their office so that when you get there they’ll say “it’ll be ready tomorrow” and so on. The place lives on charging for parking space and so will stay with your car as much as possible in order to make more money. If you want to avoid a headache and actually value your time and car, DO NOT take it here. It should be ilegal to be this irrespectful and useless.

Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting
MAACO 12250 SW 117 CT MIAMI FL 33186. Terrible!! I leave my car, a toyota rav4 2016 on July 31, 2017. The repair consisted of changing the front bumper, the right fender. They promised they could do the perfect job in 5 business days after Geico's adjuster passed. The first problem was that instead of negotiating with Geico the replacement of a new bumper told me that Geico was not going to pay a new bumper just the repair and it was not going to look good. I paid them apart from my deductible to buy a genuine toyota bumper. On August 2, according to Eduardo, they were already mounting the bumper. The day 19 tells Eduardo that the only work pending was to polish the paint but it was not true the bumper does not fit correctly with the fenders. They told me Eduardo and Luis that Tuesday would be, but they did not call. Today 24 I went to the workshop and it is exactly the same as a week ago what now say that the fender that Geico pay does not serve and that they have to put another but it is not true because they do not call Geico. Probably the bumper and fence are the cheapest and the worst quality possible, not the genuine bumper that I pay or the fender that Geico was agree to pay. We’re beginning again. In the meantime I'm paying a rental car, it's been 3 weeks. Neither of these guys has a shame, they look like they are doing me a favor but also they don’t like too much. They’re trying to tire me out and charge me for a crappy job.(SEE PICTURE)

This place is really bad. new_2_miami review is spot on . At first I thought it was a good place but I actually stayed at the business and watched them . I took a Toyota Corolla there to get wheel bearings fixed and I noticed that they drove the car out 3 times and took quite awhile .It took like 3 hours for them to finish and the car and it still had the same problem. I took my car since my fuel pump wasn't working and the owner was extremely rude. They also put a starter on it and it was used remanufactured it caused all types of headaches for me. They have ASE certifications but that doesn't mean a thing when you do bad work intentionally they shouldn't be doing this to people . stay far away from this place .

Super fast. and, went straight to the issue and fixed within a couple of hours. We have used this repair shop twice through AAA and both times have been just great...
Tips & Advices
Using a variety of tools and processes, many of which require specialized training, auto body mechanics primarily repair cosmetic and structural damage to vehicles after accidents occur. They can also enhance a vehicle’s appearance and performance by replacing and adding new parts to a vehicle’s body.
This depends on the severity of the work that needs to be done. Something such as paintless dent repair for a few small dents can take an hour. Whereas auto body repairs for damages caused by a major accident can take multiple days to correct.
All auto body parts can be repaired but there is a threshold for the level of repairs possible. Parts can be damaged beyond repair and would need to be wholly replaced.
Auto body parts can be made from a wide variety of materials, usually based on what the part’s purpose is. Vehicle frames body panels, bumpers, roof racks, and other items that need to be strong and durable are usually constructed from steel, which is known for its durability and resistance to rust and high temperatures. But aluminum is quickly becoming a popular material of construction due to its lightweight yet durable nature. Body kits and other aftermarket parts like spoilers and hoods can be constructed from one form of plastic or another.
Yes, the vast majority of car makes and models have aftermarket parts available for many of their components. But higher-end vehicles typically have less aftermarket parts available since they often use specialized materials and manufacturing processes that are difficult to duplicate for many aftermarket manufacturers.
