SUMMARY: 18 months ago, the owner promised something he couldn’t do for the price he quoted. Then the mechanic tried to replace a perfectly good transmission. I left, but it ended up costing me a $150 freight charge for returning transmission, $75 for a tow to Transmission Express, several hours of work doing research and dealing with parts vendors, 5 extra day being without a truck, and a lot of worry. DETAILS:The owner believed my Silverado probably had a bad transmission and said that he could rebuild it, but he didn’t ask if was a diesel Silverado, something he could only replace. He had phenomenal online ratings, and it appeared to be was an honest mistake, so I told him to go ahead and replace it. His mechanic then made a second big mistake, misdiagnosing it as a bad differential because of an error code without noticing that all the fluid drained from a hole in the bottom of the differential. He said the error code meant that the transmission was bad. I looked it up and it only said, “unable to shift”, and I easily found a discussion online with someone saying a bad differential could cause that.While discussing this with the mechanic, he said that I also had a bad lower oil gasket, which was expensive to replace, but because the transmission would be replaced, he would do it for something like $500 rather than several hundred more. I wanted to see how far he would go with this so I asked what he thought I should do. He began to argue in favor of replacing it, and I reminded him it was a high millage truck and said that I parked on gravel, and he got a little angry and said, “You just go ahead and tell me what you want me to do!” I said I wanted him to not accept deliver of the transmission coming in and let me tow it away. He seemed happy to be rid of it (and me), but to his credit he said he wouldn’t charge anything. I paid his standard diagnostic charge anyway. I understand why people like these guys. They’re personable, mostly honest, and they’ll tell you so. But this was something out of their league, and when the mechanic made a big mistake, he didn’t recognize or own it. Under other circumstances, I might use them for less complex problems if I lived closer, but not for something big that I couldn’t monitor.

I moved from Queens N.Y. To Miami back in 2002. At the time I had a 1995 Honda Civic that was built for performance. I needed to have the axles replaced so I went to Rack And Axles which at the time I also wanted to convert my power steering rack to a manual one. They did all the work and it turned out great!! Like if the car came that way from the factory!! I was so impressed with their work and customer service provided that I continued to go to them whenever I needed any type of drive line, suspension or brake work done. They have always been very courteous and professional. Above all they have always been very considerate in treating my care with extreme care! Their rates are very reasonable especially for the high quality of work that is provided. In my most recent visit I brought my 2002 Civic to them because of some serious vibration that would occur when in higher engine loads at 30-40 mph and again around 80 mph. I checked my wheels and axles which did not show any signs of damage or wear so I was thinking that it may be something in the suspension. They were able to diagnose the problem to the axle which they built and installed a superior unit in comparison to the High Tier Discount Auto axle that was in the car. Needless to say the vibration was eliminated up to speeds I rather not say in a public forum! Now, I love my Honda and will not let just anyone work on my car, however I have become a lifetime loyal customer to Rack And Axles because of their professionalism, respect for my property and work performed these past 10 years+! I have recommended all of my friends and family who have all thanked my for telling them about this shop! The owner Soto and his brother are one of the best pair of mechanics I have known in the past 20 years I have been in the Honda motor sports scene! I highly recommend this shop to anyone who needs any type of automotive mechanic work needed! As they specialize in Rack And Axles, they also do all types of automotive work!!

The best in town hands down. Intelligent analysis, the most reasonable rates you’ll find in Miami, quick turnaround, and spot on professionalism is the order of the day. You bring in your car and they figure out your issue. They fix it efficiently time-wise. They do it the most cost effective path possible (saving you big $$$ sometimes). They don’t hose you for work that doesn’t need to be done. It’s pro work at the highest level, no games involved.I was turned on to them about 15 years ago driving a prelude and have gone to them since with an integra, then a prelude and now Infiniti. As hard as I tried, Mike and the owners of Miami Imports really blew the opportunity to earn a 5-star review and a customer for life.Everything started great... Mike was kind enough to chat with me via text, and we did the entire deal via text which was so appreciated. The first hiccup came when Mike gave me a price of $8,700, but then surprised me with an additional $495 dealer fee when he sent the Bill of Sale over to be signed. The fee was never mentioned until I pointed it out. It wasn't a deal breaker, but Mike should have mentioned it up front.I live in Nashville, so Mike setup to have the car transported from Miami. Everything went great here. No complaints.When the car showed up with cosmetic damage, everything went downhill... My very first text to Mike said, "Could you let me know about any cosmetic or mechanical issues? I am definitely not expecting a perfect car, but I want to avoid being surprised by anything." He replied, "There are no issues at all. No cosmetic issues." Expectation set... there are no cosmetic issues.Unfortunately there were more than a handful of cosmetic issues with the car including: clear coat peeling, pings in the door, gouges in the paint, a cut gas cap cord, and a completely missing door protector.I sent Mike pictures of all the problems, and he acknowledged that he should have caught them. I asked that he cover a small percentage of the repair bills, but he refused again and again.Mike is a nice guy, but I would NOT purchase another vehicle from him.Would not recommend to anyone.

I own a 1968 Ford Mustang coupe that came with an OEM air conditioning system. I have had the car for the past year-and-a-half or so and was considering making the system work again. I must say that I was very apprehensive to leave the car at any shop so I devoted quite some time doing extensive research over the internet for reputable ones that had some experience in vintage systems. I was particularly attracted to Auto A/C World due to the ample number of very positive reviews found all over the place. Most importantly, they had the experience I was searching for.I took the car last week and met Candy (Candido), the owner. He checked out the car and very promptly provided a quote and scope of work. The car stayed with him the same day. Soon thereafter he had already completed the rebuild and upgrade of the old compressor to accept the new refrigerant. He shortly discovered that the condenser was all clogged up so he set out to find the replacement part and let me know the additional cost. The car stayed for a few more days and I finally picked it up this week. The system is working as it should. Being a vintage system, Candy took over the job himself.He was very corteous and fairly priced considering it was an older system. I must say I will never take any of my cars to anyone else, period. For those gearheads out there who own older cars and are considering about fixing an A/C system just do not think it any longer. This shop is highly recommended.

It is VERY hard almost impossible to find any business in Miami that pays attention to detail. Usually it's just do the least amount of effort and move on to the next. THIS PLACE IS NOT LIKE THAT! They pay attention to the smallest detail. I was so shocked. When I first pulled up I saw a car that just had their windows done I asked to see how it looked, it looked great and the guy said he gets all his cars done there for as long as he's owned a car. I made an appointment for my cadillac escalade and got my front windshield done at 70% tint, my sunroof and 2 front side windows done at 15%. I used the nano film which is very high end and my car is now so much cooler inside. id say its 15 degrees cooler when I first get in now. I'm really glad I got my sunroof done too as a lot of the heat coming into the car was actually coming from there. Amazing job done, great price, and each film was applied 100% perfect. They have this down to a science. They don't try to upsell you anything, and they really know this business! I could not be any happier. Thank you so much guys. I highly recommend . My car used to have 5% tint on the side windows and I went to 15% now it's not as dark so seeing at night is better and it actually lets in less heat than my old 5% tint. That's how much better the quality is here. Don't think twice about going here, There is NO better tint shop in Miami, and I am now a life long customer! Thanks guys!

I am not a person to write good reviews, if I write a review normally is negative. But in this case I have to admit that I was motivated to write a positive review for South Motors Mazda. Since I had read so many bad reviews my wife and I went to the showroom just to check the car we wanted and to test drive, as we have done in other dealers. To our pleasant surprise Michelt Dominguez was the car sales available showed us the car with no push sales attitude, he listened to our expectations and with a down to earth approach we sat down to look at the options. Another difference with pior experience, there was no back and forth with a manager sitting in a dark room far away from the sales office. Immediately that we showed interest the manger Franly Machado introduced himself and explained the process, that there was not going to be a back and forth but he needed to review the numbers that we were requesting and he was going to do his best in the first try. NO WAYTING 10 HOURS. A few min later Michelt came with the offer, we liked and we closed. It was by far the best new or used car buying experience in my 20 years of experience. I recommend South Motor Honda specially the Michelt Dominguez and Franly Machado…. And at the end the Finance person was very efficient to finish all the paperwork explained everything and got us ready to receive the our new Mazda CX-9.

WOW!!! I am delighted to comment on this dealership. I rarely write reviews, but the experience I had here was so positive that I have to write about it! I am divorced, went through a bankruptcy and my credit was destroyed! I visited from all the largest dealerships in Miami to all the small ones, and everyone told me the same thing: No thankyou...However, here, I saw a vehicle on line and went to the dealership for a pre-approval; I expected the same answers that I had received in all other dealerships, but to my GREAT SURPRISE, I was told I would be able to be approved and they gave me a list of cars for me to choose from. These people do it the right way! They actually asked from the beginning what my budget was and they worked with my budget from beginning to end, guiding me and suggesting the pros and cons of all the vehicles they showed me..I could not believe it! I saw the vehicles and chose a VW passat which looked NEW! Drove it and LOVED it!!! The saleman was great too. I returned and I was given the numbers which were right at what I had told the salesman I could afford!!! Got up and WRANG the BELL!!!! ...My only regret is I did not come here first! I recommend this dealer in a heart beat!!! 100% TOTALLY SATISFIED WITH MY 2012 VW PASSAT!!! THNX GUYS!

I rarely like to write any reviews, and this is probably about my third review ever. But my experience with carfactory was very pleasing. I went through a very nasty divorce and ofcourse, my credit was in shambles. I was in need of a car because of course, my wife took my car as part of the settlement. I went to carfactory and was greeted by a salesman by the name of Molina. This representative was extraordinary polite and PATIENT through this process which was not as torturing as I had imagined. He sat with me and asked me what I was looking for, my down payment and my monthly payments, and type of vehicle...He proceeded to bring me a list of vehicles that kept me within my budget. Cannot get easier than this! I saw several cars and settled on a 2013 Altima with a new beautiful body style. I had owned a previous Altima so I know how reliable they are. I test drove the vehicle and fell in LOVE with it! We returned from the test drive and we proceeded to see the numbers which were right at what I had stated. She did the "extra mile" when she realized that the piece for my car " the alternator" will take more time that expected the delivery she goes to the shop and buy and put it, in order give a service for me today because otherwise will take one day for delivery. Not so expensive. The Best service in Miami. I recommend for everybody. -\\\\\\Recomiendo mucho este taller, excelente mecánicos y en especial la Sra. Odalys que ella misma me reviso el carro y me dio consejos de cuidado de mi carro porque en otro lugar me habían dicho que tenía que poner aceite sintético y la Sra me dijo y me mostró hasta donde podía ver que aceite llevaba mi carro. Vine para cambiar el alternador de mi carro, servicio excelente, no muy caro. Cuando la Sra. Odalys vio que el delivery de la pieza iría a demorar contar de realizar el servicio en el mismo día ella fue a buscarla. Excelentes mecánicos.
