I hired this company to do some work in my condo in Florida. I am from out of state and first time owner of a condo. Of all the contractors I called, Carlos, the owner was the one who told me that I needed City of Miami permit to alter any flooring in the high rise. We signed the construction contract where every detail was noted. I sent him all the paperwork needed including the floorplan. He knew the process and was able to secure the city permit before I landed in Miami. The job was to put in soundproofing, the new marble flooring, paint the condo, and few items. The job went through inspections and the permit got its FINAL status on the last day of the contract. Even though the time was limited the job was done. I would recommend Carlos Montenegro. He is a licensed contractor. (By Su S, California)

I just used this company to complete the stucco on a new home I am building and I am satisfied with the results. Jorge ( the owner) did everything exactly how I asked and the quality of the work was good. My only complaint was the amount of time it took to complete the scratch coat since he only sent 1 worker to do it. However, once the scratch coat was completed, he finished the 5000+ sqft home in a little over a week to my satisfaction. I must admit, that I read the negative review below AFTER I had hired him and naturally, I became very concerned. So to make sure I didn't have any issues, I kept a close eye on his workers and monitored the job as much as I could instead of leaving them alone. Overall, I'm quite happy with the results and I would not hesitate to use him again.

I would recommend Carlos to anybody who is looking for an honest, hard working professional contractor. He works with you in order for you to get the best price for your project and best quality overall. He meets required deadlines and maintains a good schedule. From the biggest to the smallest detail is always taken care of and is honest about anything else that needs to be done within the job. Very important since this is an area where there are MANY fraudulent, dishonest/scammers who are simply more worried about the money than the job itself. Overall great satisfaction and would hire him again for any future projects

Jose Chavez was very professional with me. I contacted him and that same day he gave me a professional estimate via email. He has all his paperwork to work in a building. We even signed a contract stating the work he will be doing. My apartment is in Brickell and they require both insurance and license. I needed to remove the textured ceiling from the apartment and he did a great job. He was very professional and did the work very fast. I will definitely call him again if I need someone to work with drywall.

Affordable Contractors, Inc.
There was no comparison between Affordable Roofing Contractors estimate and the other contractors I called. I knew I made the right choice when the owner actually showed while my house was being roofed to make sure everything was installed correctly. The roofers worked very hard and went out of their way to protect my property. It's a very nice to see that their still are quality minded and caring companies in the home renovation business.

Ms. Maria Oliveira broke her written aggreement with me to paint her house. She broke the written aggreement by not paying for an extra pressure washing and finding a cheaper painter after a deposit was given by her to start the work. The lady is bent on staining my company everywhere she finds it.I have four other customers who will say the complete opposite of Empire Drywall Services Corp. Lic&Ins.

Carlos was always on time and gave me a very fair estimate for the job. We both agreed on terms for the job and he came through with out any problems. Would recommend him to any one else.Note: He helped me get my front door approved by the county after a previous contractor failed the inspection 4 times.

I felt compelled to write a review after they finished our bathroom remodeling…Many times people write reviews for bad services, but I thought I'd take the time to recognize some excellent work. They are superb in each & every dept. of their work and are fully dedicated to their job. 5/5…

Gabriel Nunez the contractor was very pleasant to work with---he built our daughter and son-in-law's new home. He took great pride in his work and sought at every turn to meet expectations. We would not hesitate to use him again. Janet M. Canterburyjcsuperstar404@gmail.com
Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.
