I had a major leak from underneath our kitchen faucet and I had heard about Alas Plumbing from a friend. I called Jose the owner of Alas Plumbing and he said he could come over immediately. He was at our house within 15 minutes. Jose quoted us a very fair and reasonable price and had our leak fixed and working again in only 30 minutes. He was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. We trust Alas Plumbing with all our plumbing needs.

I called for an appointment for a new kitchen faucet installation, and was able to be scheduled for the next morning. It was as perfect plumbing experience as you can get. My appointment time was quoted as being between 8a-10a, and Jose called at 8:40a, and said he'd be there in 20 minutes, and he arrived just a minute or two before 9:00. Jose was professional, polite, and friendly, and completed the job within an hour or so for the price I was quoted. He cleaned up the area, gives us a one year warranty, and our new faucet looks beautiful and works perfectly. We will definitely be using this company for our future plumbing needs. We had a prior negative experience with a different company but we were very pleased with Alas Plumbing.

I did a major renovation on a Scottsdale house built in 1960. The work included adding a new Master bath and replacing old pipes for the other bathrooms. After geeting several bids, I decided to go with Jose. He was professional and dedicated to getting the job done on time. The city inspected and his work passed all the inspections. Will definently be using him again !!

Tips & Advices
  • Are you licensed and registered?
  • Are you insured and bonded?
  • How many years have you been in business?
  • What, if any, professional associations do you belong to?
  • May I have a list of references?
  • Do you offer a written warranty for your work?
  • Will I need a permit for this work?
  • Don't use your toilet or kitchen sink like a trash can by stuffing hard to flush material down the drain or pouring fats and oils down the pipe.
  • Throw coffee grounds and eggshells in the garbage instead of in your sink.
  • Only use your toilet to flush human waste and toilet paper
  • Before calling a plumber, try to unclog your drains and toilets yourself by using a plunger.
  • Make sure you use a standard bell-shaped plunger for your sink and shower drains and a plunger with a flanged end for your toilets.
  • If neither type can loosen the pipe blockage, put a plumber's snake to use.
  • Ratchet the snake down the pipe to eliminate any clogs.
  • Be mindful of how much water you use in your bathroom, kitchen and even outdoors when watering your lawn.
  • Make sure your toilet handle works properly and doesn't stick.
  • Replace old shower heads with more efficient low-flow options that can cut down on the gallons of water you use each morning.
  • Turning off the water while you brush your teeth
  • Only running your dishwasher or clothes washer when you have a full load.
To keep yourself safe from fraud or a possible scam, always remember to ask plumbers for their license along with a written warranty for their labor. Besides this, further safeguard yourself by checking their references and ensure they or their company is insured and bonded to do their work.
