Eau Gallie Electric
This is the second time I have this co. do my electrical repairs and on both occasions the different electricians were very cordial, knowledgeable, and explained the problem and how they would fix it. Today they came out to hook up the heat to the HVAC unit i installed but was uncertain there was enough power for the heat & AC 2 1/2 ton the other 2 scheduled appointments(my 1st project&estimate), they were right on time!when the gentleman got here on time to wake me up. he had the system running in about 10 minutes flat.after a few hours later i noticed the temp had only went up 2* i called at 4:38. In literally 10 minutes there was an EG Elec service van in my driveway.Mark(i think) looked at the previous work at the AC return, walked to the breaker box and 2 minutes the smell of freshly burnt dust led the warm air escaping the ducts! very clean, polite and respectful. i would highly recommend calling the polite voice on the other end to schedule a trustworthy business you or your moms electric needs. they been in business OVER 20 years for a reason! We thank the whole team thats safely keeping us warm right now! Sandy & Joe

Eau Gallie Electric
have used Eau Gallie Electric several times during my renovation, since I purchased my house in Satellite Beach last year. From a new electrical panel, to relocating light fixture outlets, kitchen re-wiring and adding new outlets, the work has been exceptional. Every associate was on time, professional and committed to completing the job quickly and correctly...sometimes challenging in an old house. Being experienced in renovations and a home inspector myself, I was impressed. The cost was fair for each independent visit (since I am doing the renovation myself as budget allows). Not the cheapest, but knowledgeable and reliable...something that is hard to find these days with renovation services. My peace of mind and renovation schedule/timing are more valuable than saving a few bucks with "possible" incompetent people. Will continue to use them and recommend them to my friends. Thank you Adam Lucker for all your help!

Gault Electric LLC
Called Gault Electric at 10pm regarding a partial power outage issue. Jeff Gault called right back and provided expert advice including his diagnosis and told me to call FPL at a special number and to relocate refrigerator to another outlet with an extension cord to keep it running and to shut down A/C and some other circuits. Bottomline, Gault was there when I needed them and everything they told me was spot-on. And, they called me the next morning to follow-up to make sure everything was taken care of and of course all of this advice was free. Best Customer Service Ever! Thank you Gault Electric. I'll be sure to call them for all my electrical needs in the future.

TJ did an excellent job with replacing our FPE circuit box. He coordinated the entire job with the power company and the inspector. The whole job was complete in less than 4 hours! He kept us informed, did a quality job and went out of his way to make sure the new box was labeled correctly. A true professional and I will recommend him again and again.

Gault Electric LLC
They did the work great, but when the sprinkler system tripped the breaker repeatedly I called them out to check to see if they wired it properly...although no work was done I was charged 122.50. That's not a warranty.

Fantastic! Scott arrived early. Work done was complete and efficient. He explained everything clearly and even had time to fix an outlet problem. Price was very reasonable.
Tips & Advices
Keep the following tips in mind:
  • Do not operate any electrical equipment while sitting or standing in water.
  • Don't overload extension cords or surge protectors.
  • Put caps on your electrical outlets if you have small children.
  • Call an electrician if you notice your sockets or switches are warm to the touch, discolored or if they make noise.
  • Keep electrical cords away from stoves, ovens and other sources of heat.
  • Do not use an appliance that has a frayed cord.
  • Do not staple extension cords into place or cover them with carpets or furniture.
  • When using extension cords, make sure to unwrap them before plugging them in.
  • Don't overuse extension cords. Have an electrician install extra outlets if you need a power source closer to you.
  • Only use light bulbs with the correct wattage for your lamps and light fixtures.
  • Contact a licensed electrician if you frequently blow fuses, since this can be a sign of an electrical wiring problem.
  • Have an electrician look at your fuse box to ensure you have the right size fuses and circuit breakers. The wrong size fuse or breaker can be a fire hazard.
  • If you have fault circuit interrupters installed in your electrical panel, make sure you test them at least once a month by turning them on and off.
It can cost from $40-$100 an hour depending on the job. This does not include additional costs for parts or trip fees. Make sure to ask in advance what they charge for or if they will provide a free quote.
In order to become a full-fledged professional, a person must undergo an apprenticeship with master and journeyman electricians. An apprentice needs 8,000 hours of practical work before graduating to the journeyman level. If an apprentice reaches journeyman status, he or she can complete most electrical work, but cannot design it until completing more testing along with 2,000 more on-the-job hours.
Yes. While all electricians need a license, not all of them do the same types of jobs.
  • Outside: These types of electricians work outdoors on electrical lines that connect to power plants.
  • Inside: Inside experts typically focus on commercial and industrial buildings that require a lot of power.
  • Residential: Residential electricians work with low-voltage systems and wiring to install fuse boxes and light fixtures.
Watch out for contractors that greatly underbid other electricians. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Also, always remember to get the estimate in writing before settling on a company.
