I had an unenviable experience on I79 yesterday when the main belt on my Suburban broke and left me on the shoulder, miles from my daughter's college in Meadville. First, AAA expedited a tow-truck for me, my wait time was shorter than if I had been in the city. After searching online for a mechanic, and calling Carpenter's Auto they couldn't have been more helpful. Jeff, the owner, guided me to check for damage, and asked for photos, then ordered the parts for me prior to my arrival at his shop, which was probably going to be closed by the time I got there. I had his cell number and was told to call him if I arrived too late, and he would come and work on my car. We made good time, and had minutes to spare before the shop closed, but Jeff stayed and fixed the belt and replaced a broken pulley. I was a prime target for "gouging", but Jeff's honesty and integrity was unparalleled. I expected to pay twice what he charged me for the repairs, and can't thank him enough for getting me back on the road.
