Top of the World Preschool
I was a worried mom of a 5 year old, adorable boy. Before joining Top of the world school, he attended Kiddie Academy of Mckinney and after about a month he developed very bad behaviors like hitting that he had never exhibited before. We got him out of there since we saw the distressed teacher (30+ yrs experience) and director. Instead we found Top of The World. And Thank God we did. I cant tell you how blessed we feel !! At first, my son was showing the same bad behaviors as the previous preschool. Prior to enrolling we showed our concern about his bad behavior, Mr. O assured us that our son will be in good experienced hands. 1) if your child has behavioral issues- the owner Mr. O and the Director Ms. Stephanie--handle it so well- they respect the parent and not once did they judge us for our son's acting out 2) TOTW do' what they say and they 'mean' what they say. we didn't know what triggered my son's acting out but at TOTW i had several-almost everyday short meetings where we tried to figure what possibly triggered him to be upset & we would reach a workable approach- and the teacher was to apply that approach if he acted out again. Recently we got our son evaluated and was diagnosed with Asperger/ High Functioning Autism. It is because of this school that gave me peace of mind that he will be well taken care of. Ms. Stephanie and Mr. O are such amazing people- they love what they do- its clearly visible. Our son has improved so much with zero incident. One of the solutions that we reached at was to send him only 3x a week and pick him before nap because thats when he struggled the most. Now he stays home alternate days and we are enjoying our precious son. I can not emphasize enough on how amazing, nurturing and reliable school this is. Mr. O definitely has chosen amazing staff who share the same goal & love what they do. I will keep updating this review as I'm sure ill have so much more to say.

Montessori Academy at Westridge
Concernedmom111 and Parent002: Since your child attended MAW, things have changed immensely. We have hired two Montessori certified Primary teachers with over three years' experience as lead Montessori teachers and over five years' experience in Montessori environments. Each teacher has a different personality to help fit each child's emotional intelligence. We have also hired two new Toddler teachers. One has three years' experience working in a Montessori school and the other is currently going to training and is wonderful with children and families. We are also under new management. Ms. Christina, the new Director, comes to us with her Montessori Certification, her degree in Early Childhood Development, her Bachelor's degree in Management/International Business and a Masters in Human Resources. She taught for five years in a Montessori School in California, was an Assistant Director for three years and the Director of a brand new Montessori School in Fountain Valley, California for eight years. Ms. Christina has a passion for children and a drive to create an environment that helps children create a love for learning that lasts them a lifetime! We urge and welcome you to visit our program to demonstrate that we are a wonderful school with a dedicated staff who enjoys working with children; we know that they flourish under our care!

Discovery Learning Center
My older son is 3 1/2 years old. He has been going to Discovery for almost 3 years. I was going to start him there @ 6 weeks but just couldn't let him go to strangers even though my office manager's daughter had gone there for years and another co-worker used to work there and her daughters have gone there since birth. So, my mom kept him. Then he started DLC at 9 months. I could not be happier with Discovery Learning Center. They don't just baby sit the kids all day. They ARE actually learning. He amazes daily with the things that come out of his mouth. From songs he sings to words he spells. 3 years old... he spells his name and is learning to write it. I have loved every teacher he has had. I now have a 3 month old and I almost feel guilty for being so quick to drop him off and leave him on his first day, at the age of 7 weeks. But, that is how comfortable I am with the girls that are keeping him. Of course I missed him but I knew he was in good hands. Not to mention his "teacher" is the mother of my other son's best buddy. I don't feel like Discovery is just a company that I pay to watch my kids. They feel like family to me, part of my village helping to raise them.

Discovery Learning Center
I'm breastfeeding, so I'm at DLC every three hours, every day of the week. I’m able to observe my son’s teachers and I have seen the other classrooms, as well. I talk with my son’s teachers at length and they are very invested in the care of my son - it’s like co-parenting with them and they are truly amazing. Whenever we have a developmental issue, they are on my team, ready to help us work through the problem.Again, I’m there several times a day, so I see quite a bit more than the average parent. I truly love this daycare center and staff. The directors and staff care very much about the children enrolled at the daycare. The directors are very nice, attentive, and are seriously super sweet. Any issues I've had, they’ve addressed them immediately. It's all about communication, and a willingness to work through the problem.I hope this helps! If you have any questions about this daycare, I'd be happy to answer any questions about my experience. Thank you!-Heather Garcia

Discovery Learning Center
My family and I have been in the area for a little over a year now. We moved from California and before we moved to Texas we had our children going to a family friend in home daycare, b/c I didn’t trust just anyone watching my children. So I was a little skeptical about my children going to a daycare out here in Texas. But before my husband and I made up our mind about our children going to a daycare out here, I went to go and visit Discovery before we made our decision. And when I got there the staff was just so WONDERFUL. They gave me a tour of the classrooms my children will be in, and how the program worked. They made me feel so welcomes and that’s what we needed for our children. My Children learned so much from Discovery, and is still learning from them. I would recommend anyone to take their children to discovery leaning center. The hours are GREAT open at 6:30 AM and close at 6:00 PM, and the expense is not bad at all.

Discovery Learning Center
When my granddaughter came to live with me, she immediately started with DLC in the infant room. She is now in the 1st grade and participates in the after-school program. Over the years, I could have moved closer to my work; however, in the end, I refused to change her childcare provider. When my 2nd granddaughter was born, this is the only childcare facility I would consider to take care of her too. No matter what our needs have been through the years, the staff and management have gone out of their way to help. Along with excellent care, this facility provides a positive and educational environment for all children to thrive. They take care of all of the children as if they're they own and they're always professional, friendly and extremely helpful. I highly recommend DLC as the best place to take your precious children.

Heritage Learning Center
I was a stay at home mom for 6 years before I had to put my children in childcare. I went to every single center in McKinney before I made my decision. Choosing Heritage was the best decision I made for my girls! Having to find care for them seemed like such a negative experience at first but Heritage showed me what a positive experience it really was for them. They learned things that I would have never thought to teach them. I have heard from many MISD teachers that they can pick out which children went to Heritage. I can definetely see how. This year was the last year for my family. Both of my girls have now aged out and both were very disappointed when their time at HLC came to an end. We love Heritage and thank them for helping to mold my children into who they are today.

Montessori Academy at Westridge
We moved our daughter, 2 years old, to MAW in November 2014. We moved her from a very reputable daycare in the area and it was just that, a daycare. Since moving our daughter to MAW, she has made great strides as Montessori Academy at Westridge. As a teacher within FISD, MAW's curriculum is spot on with cognitive abilities and also exposes the children to the Montessori teachings every step of the way. Ms. Christina and Ms. Ashton, the directors have done a phenomenal job turning around what seems to have been a "declining" school. I am all about reviews and reading them, but once you step foot in to the building, you will understand why you will want your child to attend this school. We could not be happier than we are at MAW and I wish I had checked it out sooner.

Joyous Montessori
My daughter has gone to this school for 2 years. We are so comfortable with the staff, that even after moving we chose to keep her in this school (30 minute commute for a preschool is a big deal to me). My daughter is now 3 and she's wayyyy ahead of most peers. She's great with practical/life skills (pours her own juice and can make a bowl of cereal on her own to name a couple), knows site words & is starting to read a little, has great comprehension and communication skills, and overall is very mature since the school focuses on life skills as much as academics. I plan to keep her here through kindergarten. Highly recommend.
