My food was excellent (3 fish tacos and homemade pretzels with beer-cheese dip). Portions were generous. I took home a left-over lunch and sadly had no room for dessert. Next time, I'll restrain myself with my main course. Great beer, drinks, and wines! \r \r The place is run like clockwork and the staff was attentive and very professional. The entire place is sparkling clean and orderly--including the bathrooms. Yay!\r \r They've taken a pretty big space and made it feel cozy, charming, and warm with lots of seating and lounging areas. The decor features loads of fun, authentic, and enviable antique pieces and the atmosphere created is original. Nothing is squeezed out of a tube here--antiques, not reproductions. So many nice little touches--lamp light, bathroom toiletries, flowers, an old score board, etc....\r \r A great addition to the neighborhood and Madison!

Karben4 is Madison's newest brewery and was founded by Appleton, WI natives who have been graciously adopted by the Madison community. The brewmaster, Ryan Koga, was previously working as the head brewer at Yellowstone Valley Brewing Company (YVBC) in Billings, MT. Ryan moved from Wisconsin to Montana to earn his Masters degree in athletic training and fell in love with beer while working on the bottling line at YVBC to pay the bills. In short order, Ryan became a brewer, the head brewer, and before long was known for his seasonal beers and his bright cartoon personality. If Ryan were a lunch meat, he would be roast beef. The business-end of Karben4 is handled by lifelong friends Alex Evans and Zak Koga. The duo's entrepreneurial history dates back to their senior year of high school where they were Co-Presidents of their entrepreneurship class. Alex graduated from Marquette University before working at M&I Bank's corporate headquarters in downtown Milwaukee, WI. After a few years of helping companies structure and obtain financing for their projects, Alex headed to UCLA to pursue a graduate degree in creative writing. He and Zak stayed in close contact and a lot of their discussion centered around discerning business opportunities. If Alex were a weapon, he would be a musket. Zak Koga is Ryan's younger brother and half of the business effort at Karben4. Zak is the group's link to Madison as he graduated from UW-Madison and has lived in Madison since 2004. He and Ryan had been discussing a family brewery for a few years at the same time as he and Alex were making a hobby of writing business plans. A twist of fate, if you will... In his day job, Zak manages commercial construction projects for Findorff in Madison and Milwaukee. If Zak were an animal he would be a bear. -Karben4's mission is to provide enrichment to our community and customers by way of providing balanced, malt-centric ales

This is a fantastic restaurant with three killer locations. I love their homemade ginger-ale, but all of their homemade brews are quenching. A good place to bring the whole family, or young friends. They have several pool tables, shuffle board, great music, a nice outdoor dining garden and a top-notch wait staff.

My family and I just went early Friday night. Service was okay food not so great. I had the catch of the day, my fiance had the burger and our son got the kids cheese ravioli. I would have to say the sauce on the fish ruined it overpowers the whole meal. Burger was alright and the sauce on the ravioli was anything but kid friendly. Soda would be the only reason I would go back. Over priced and nothing great. I was very disappointed

Great venue in an odd location. Perfect for family reunions, business meetings and outdoor gatherings for up to 2000 people in the summer. All of the facility can be used on some weekdays and nights for events; at other times, portions can be blocked off for your guests. Highly recommended.
