I love this store. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh and they offer samples so you can try before you buy. They have tons of varieties of cheeses too. The staff is always helpful and happy to see me. I just wish there was a Brennans closer to where I live.

We had a great time here watching a WI Badger game. The place was rockin' but our server Steph was all over everything--drinks stayed full, food came out quickly, etc... Parking lot was pretty full--we actually had to park in the neighboring lot. We started a world tour and will be back!!

This place is awesome! The customer service is phenomenal—they even offered to carry my box to the car. I love the retro feel when you walk in the door. The previous liquor store in this spot was a dive--period, but the new owners have really cleaned it up. It's bright--with lots of orange. They have a fabulous selection of microbrews, and Chris knows all about them. Trixie rocks, and I hear she gives weekly interviews of her favorite beer of the week on a radio station in Milwaukee--I've got to try to find her podcasts. so cool.

My food was excellent (3 fish tacos and homemade pretzels with beer-cheese dip). Portions were generous. I took home a left-over lunch and sadly had no room for dessert. Next time, I'll restrain myself with my main course. Great beer, drinks, and wines! \r \r The place is run like clockwork and the staff was attentive and very professional. The entire place is sparkling clean and orderly--including the bathrooms. Yay!\r \r They've taken a pretty big space and made it feel cozy, charming, and warm with lots of seating and lounging areas. The decor features loads of fun, authentic, and enviable antique pieces and the atmosphere created is original. Nothing is squeezed out of a tube here--antiques, not reproductions. So many nice little touches--lamp light, bathroom toiletries, flowers, an old score board, etc....\r \r A great addition to the neighborhood and Madison!

This is a fantastic restaurant with three killer locations. I love their homemade ginger-ale, but all of their homemade brews are quenching. A good place to bring the whole family, or young friends. They have several pool tables, shuffle board, great music, a nice outdoor dining garden and a top-notch wait staff.

Caution...READ all the paperwork they give you. I picked up a couple kegs of root beer for a party the day before the party as we were busy and had late fees because they weren't back by 9pm the following night which was during the party. We found another more flexible vendor without the fees the next time we needed a keg rental. None of this was started verbally which would have been very helpful.

Our story begins in 1942 when my father Frank Brennan opened a fruit stand in Monroe, Wisconsin. In the beginning, Frank purchased fruit from various locations, but he always found that he got the best produce when he personally visited farms and selected his fruit. As a result of his experience, he formed the underlying philosophy at Brennans: We Buy Direct So You Buy the Best. As Franks reputation for quality grew, he turned to buying cheese direct from factories. He didnt have to look far because the best cheesemakers were in his own backyard, Green County! Brennans could now offer Green Countys finest to their customers. Not surprisingly, it was and continues to be a highly successful relationship. In fact, many of those same families are still around today making cheese for Brennans. In 1967 we expanded to Madison with a Brennans Market, followed by another there in 1975, Brookfield in 1988, and a third Madison store in 2004. In 2003 we opened Brennans Cellars in New Glarus, Wisconsin, a cheese storage facility and the perfect place to hand cut and pack cheese fresh for all our Brennans stores. Our online gift store featuring Wisconsin Cheese Gifts opened in fall of 2004 at www.BrennansMarket.com. In August 2009, our newest location opened in Oconomowoc. Much has changed through the years, but one thing that will never change is Frank Brennans original philosophy of Buying Direct So You Buy the Best. The Brennans family personally visits and inspects every farm, orchard, vineyard, microbrewery and cheese factory that we do business with all over the United States and Canada, as well as Australia, Chile, New Zealand and Italy. We hope you have enjoyed our story and thank you for being a Brennans customer. May you always find your Brennans shopping experience to be an adventure in good taste! Skip Brennan

Karben4 is Madison's newest brewery and was founded by Appleton, WI natives who have been graciously adopted by the Madison community. The brewmaster, Ryan Koga, was previously working as the head brewer at Yellowstone Valley Brewing Company (YVBC) in Billings, MT. Ryan moved from Wisconsin to Montana to earn his Masters degree in athletic training and fell in love with beer while working on the bottling line at YVBC to pay the bills. In short order, Ryan became a brewer, the head brewer, and before long was known for his seasonal beers and his bright cartoon personality. If Ryan were a lunch meat, he would be roast beef. The business-end of Karben4 is handled by lifelong friends Alex Evans and Zak Koga. The duo's entrepreneurial history dates back to their senior year of high school where they were Co-Presidents of their entrepreneurship class. Alex graduated from Marquette University before working at M&I Bank's corporate headquarters in downtown Milwaukee, WI. After a few years of helping companies structure and obtain financing for their projects, Alex headed to UCLA to pursue a graduate degree in creative writing. He and Zak stayed in close contact and a lot of their discussion centered around discerning business opportunities. If Alex were a weapon, he would be a musket. Zak Koga is Ryan's younger brother and half of the business effort at Karben4. Zak is the group's link to Madison as he graduated from UW-Madison and has lived in Madison since 2004. He and Ryan had been discussing a family brewery for a few years at the same time as he and Alex were making a hobby of writing business plans. A twist of fate, if you will... In his day job, Zak manages commercial construction projects for Findorff in Madison and Milwaukee. If Zak were an animal he would be a bear. -Karben4's mission is to provide enrichment to our community and customers by way of providing balanced, malt-centric ales
