Adler's one of favorite restaurants to visit in town. Their grilled chicken sandwich is the best in town! My wife loves their salads. Great menu - lots of delicious choices to pick form on their menu. Wait staff is friendly and helpful.

I love going to new places, especially if they are hard to find!! My girlfriends and I came back to Madison for a weekend to party and happened to stumble down the stairs into the City Bar. From the outside all you see is a door, but once inside its not what you would expect. Leather couches, big comfy booths, plasma screen tvs everywhere with a bar that changes color. I ordered a martini from their HUGE list and my girlfriend ordered a jack & coke which she was happy to have in a real glass since we had been drinking out of plastic all night at other bars. Drinks were good, jutebox was great and the crowd was beautiful, fun. You could feel the energy in the air- or maybe it was those deadly strawberry drop shots & the hot guy I met that night!!!

Classy place with a nice drink menu. Would be a good place for a date. I am rating the food as a 5 because I did not eat there. The drinks are a good value. My only complaint is that it was very crowded so there was no place to sit. As soon as a spot opened, the host/bartender was very accomodating and showed us to a high top right away. I would like to visit again.

The best micro beer in the City of Madison, period. Visit the brewery for beer that is no available by the bottle yet. Look at Beer Advocate for other reviews & beer recommendations. This is a 5 star WI Brewery.

I havn't been in Madison long but so far Genna's is my fav. I love the two story set up, the corner table upstares has a 180 degree view of downtown, the jukebox is great but the place is even better when they bring in DJ's. Bartenders are nice too.

the inferno has great live shows, a great lineup of dj's, and all around great atmosphere. Nice dance floor and light effects, with plenty of dim corners to hide out and people watch
17.The Malt House
2609 E Washington Ave
This place is great. If you are looking for a loud jukebox and a million televisions to distract you from the company you keep, stay away from this place. No jukebox. No televisions. If you want anything to eat, go ahead and order out because they do not serve food here. Well, you can grab a bag of chips if you want too. This place is all about great beer and conversation. Formerly, the Union House, this bar still has the antique bar that dates back to the Civil War. There are 18 taps that seem to continually rotate craft beers and there is an ample supply of bottled beers on hand...domestic and imports (+150). There is an extensive list of the Belgian variety as well. It has a stocked bar with an extensive amount of whiskey and vodka. Ask the bartender about building your own whiskey flight Make sure to check out the chalkboard for seasonals/specials as well. Great bar!

Great beer selection. Good drinks. The food is yummy too. I love that they offer the ""Redneck Buffet"" (I think that's what they call the combo of pickled eggs, pigs feet, and something else), though you'll never catch me ordering it. Lots of fun details in the eclectic decor--hand-picked kitchy treasures. A really nice option to have on campus.

This is a fantastic restaurant with three killer locations. I love their homemade ginger-ale, but all of their homemade brews are quenching. A good place to bring the whole family, or young friends. They have several pool tables, shuffle board, great music, a nice outdoor dining garden and a top-notch wait staff.
26.Church Key Pub & Grill
626 University Ave
What a dive! Going to the Church Key made me feel like I was at a bad frat party, except at least at a frat party there are usually more comfortable places to sit. The clientele were completely trashed, stumbling drunkenly with eyes rolling around like zombies. The drinks were so incredibly strong that they tasted awful. If you're a college kid looking to get wasted maybe the Church Key is the place for you. Otherwise, steer clear of it.

Went to the Red Shed on Halloween night and could not believe how bad our experience was. I first encountered one of the ?bouncers? by his rude ?MOVE IT? comment as he forced his way between me and my friend (tall, blonde guy). The bar was by no means packed yet he still felt the need to shove me into the corner of the square column near the front of the bar as he went through. I literally slammed into it and was of course shocked. In retaliation as he walked by I happened to stick my elbow out at the right time and he was so miffed he found the need to turn violent and grabbed for my wrist! At which point he was causing a scene and I happened to get out of his wrist grab which I think made him embarrassed so he was screaming at everyone around me. I had no problem with leaving the bar if he just asked politely but no he needed to go on his power trip, lose control of his temper, and also lose a paying customer. I don?t recommend the place to anyone looking to have a good time.

I went to Plan B the other night. Overall I had a good time while I was there, but the customer service was awful. So much so that the price of a beer quite literally changed from my first order to the second. The bartender was not friendly, and served guests of a certain look/type before others. (I saw it many times in the 15 minutes it took for me to actually get served.) Also a $10 minimum credit card charge is a bit old school, and excessive. Not to mention the false advertising of saying their won't be a cover, and then charging $5 at the door saying, "oh that was only for the first 30 people".

I stopped at The Badger Tavern with a girlfriend to see what it was like since Tony Franks. The lights were incredibly bright for a bar, especially on a Friday night. The atmosphere stuffy, and purely because of the staff. Not ONE of them smiled the entire 2 hours we were there. We were served a beer at the bar fairly promptly when we got there but then we looked over time and time again after given a menu. It took probably an hour for me to order food. Once getting the food it was great, but again it took forever for someone to inquire if we needed anything long after we were finished. Over all I think the place has a lot of potential to be the warm, welcoming place it once was, but never ever will be if the employees do not smile or acknowledge the patrons outside of asking what they want to drink.
