We hired Chamberlin for our sons 5th birthday party and we were extremely pleased with the company! We hired another pony company for our daughters 3rd birthday party and it was terrible. We attended a party that Chamberlin was hosting and were so impressed we hired them for our son. They showed up early to set up and we couldn't believe everything they included in the package. They thought of every detail to make our son's birthday a party he would always remember. The manager was exceptionally professional and the staff was very polite, patient and wonderful with the children in the party. The animals were very clean and we couldn't believe how nicely the pony was decorated. We told them it was a cowboy theme party and they all showed up in cowboy hats, boots and bandannas. Even the pony was decorated "cowboy style". Our friends were all so impressed with the party that one of them has already reserved a party for their son in January! THANK YOU Chamberlin for providing such a perfect party for our son! I will post some of our party pictures on your Facebook page. Larry

I learned to ride at Windermere, beginning at age 11. One of the things that impressed me the most is the fact that the old, bombproof school horses I started on as a kid were still alive, healthy, and living happily in semi-retirement (or complete retirement!) even now (though some have passed on, they lived at windermere until they died). You know a barn is a good barn when they treat their old horses with the respect they deserve. \r \r Each barn I have ridden at since has always asked me where I learned to ride, and comment that I was taught very well. (one instructor looked at me and said ""well... I really don't have anything to teach you"" lol needless to say I didn't ride at THAT stable very long, because I by no means know everything, but I suppose it's a credit to the instructors at windermere! THEY still had LOTS to teach me) Another great thing: The instructors do things correctly and don't let students move on faster than they should. Everything is done safely and they will teach you everything you need to know to not just be a rider, but a GOOD rider.

Springbrook Equestrian Center in Sterling Heights, Michigan is one of the cleanest, well-maintained full service boarding stables I have ever boarded at. They offer both one on one and group riding lessons for all ages; they even have Day Camps all summer long for the kids; they offer a feeding program 3 times a day including an Equine nutrition program; they clean and add bedding daily; they offer daily turnout; also they offer private tack lockers so you do not wear your tack out carrying it around in your car. Almost forgot to mention that the barn is heated, which is great for winter horseback riding in Michigan; they have a nice clean lounge with free Wi-Fi Internet access, TV and vending machine. If you have not had a chance to check this place out you should. Oh yea, the entire staff and other boarders are really nice and helpful.\r \r \r \r

Went with my teenage daughter looking for lessons. The owner was polite and helpful, the young people around the barn were very friendly, and the horses were taken care of. The lesson instruction was informative and focused on safety.

Rochester Hills Stables is one of the largest riding schools in Michigan. We are an English-style riding school, owned and operated by the Hake family, under directorship of Sharon Hake. She is a professional horsewoman with over 35 years experience in teaching the art of horsemanship. With over 35 horses in the school, we have a selection of horses suitable for beginning through advanced riders. Riding lessons are conducted year round. RHS has two outdoor riding arenas and a large indoor arena that is utilized in winter months, or during inclement weather. There is an observation room overlooking the indoor arena and a well-stocked tack shop that carries a variety of riding apparel and horse-related supplies. The riding programs at Rochester Hills Stables reflect our respect for the horse and the traditions of our sport. We emphasize safety, as well as fun, while our students develop their riding skills and learn basic principles of horsemanship.

Not quite sure what "Marnie C." is referring to but I have had my 2 horses at Chartier's for over a year and never once have I had a "safety" issue or "management" issue or "lack of supervisor" issue. In fact my horses have IMPROVED dramatically since moving them here -- not once have I had any problems. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to board.

When I first came to the barn, the water trough outside had algae in it.to hang a fan on your stall or plug in a heated water bucket, it cost an extra $15/month. my horse would be standing in his stall covered in sweat from the 90 degree heat and the fan wasn’t turned on and they would unplug the heated water bucket even though I’m paying extra to have it plugged in.stalls weren’t cleaned thoroughly!I found three pee spots under the shavings. When I brought this issue up to the owner, she said,“We are doing the best we can.”Another time I found pee and poop under the shavings the owner said,“Oh I’m the one that cleaned his stall today.”This issue was never resolved. The stall was repeatedly unclean. They are sparse on the shavings they add to the stall. Many horses repeatedly were standing in their own piss by the end of the day.The facility itself, it is a nice, quiet, small barn with very friendly boarders. The girls that work out there are great!Overall, I would not board here again.
